So you think guys all the shitcoins left in Cryptopia are gone forever?  Huh https://twitter.com/Cryptopia_NZ/status/1128491715608727553
Well rip, another investigation and it says it will take months rather than weeks. I have bitsend on their exchange but not many because their wallet is always maintenance. Rip for people who have many coins on that site, it will stuck for months. Luckly i don't use cryptopia anymore since the hack incident.
I think they will soon have a solution to return money to investors in the near future but this is likely to be very unlikely because after the attack then Cryptopia is very late in supporting customers should very low return rate. I personally participated in the exchange in 2018 because a lot of small coins had a very good price increase when listed here and helped me to earn a very high profit. Anyway we still have a lot of other exchanges and you should choose big exchange to ensure the best asset

3. Will I get my coins returned on the conclusion of the investigation?

The purpose of the investigation is to confirm the amounts owing and available to return to customers. Until the investigation has concluded, we cannot confirm whether individual customers will get all of their crypto-assets returned.

It seems  my assumption is true, they will liquidate any crypto-asset on the exchange, pay for their legal ties and responsibility then distribute what is left to their customers.  A very sad news for those customers who once give them profit.

I was so sad when i saw this, to think i made a huge loss to them folding is unimaginable. I was told to not keep my coins on an exchange but i felt its easier for me to trade that way, not knowing i will be amongst the victims who had their coins gone with the wind

I am believe this happen to many peoples. Cryptopia had many members and i think after they opening bitcoin deposits and withdrawal, cryptopia will survive but looks they had many problem inside. Hopely cryptopia can handle this with careful and transparant so investor can get their coin back

I heard they asked for the appointment of a trustee. They probably didn't save the money. They didn't want to go under this load.
you're right. they simply did not find a way out from the nightmare in which they found themselves and there was nothing left for them to do but finish their work. very upset

I don't think about shitcoins, but a big impact on investors, of course this is bad news that will make them think that whenever exchanges can be a scam other than coins or tokens.

I also really liked Cryptopia. I thought that this exchange will enter the top exchanges. but alas, this burglary story changed the fate of this company.

Caue of shitcoins, crypto market is damaged. Cryptopia is one of the biggest exchange which collects shitcoins. I think this is good news, i hope people can take back their funds from the exchange.

I don't know for sure, but most likely they are lost forever. That's very unfortunate for all those people still holding coins on their exchange. Even if that are shitcoins they should have been allowed to withdraw them to a wallet they control. I myself had some very low amounts of ETN (not that I consider ETN a shitcoin), trading it just for fun, so I'm not really affected. But I can imagine people holding there huge amounts of coins, which would translate into huge losses.

Just another case showing us that exchanges should be used either for a quick trade, or you should put there the amount you are comfortable losing.

Totally agree, an opportunity should have been given to remove unaffected coins of the Exchange,

Sorry from your losses guys whos they think that Cryptopia as there wallet, but I think IF Cryptopia has gone maybe it will down and they probably close their business. Once their site shut down all coins also were gone either good or shitcoins. People didn't after on shitcoin because it is almost don't have value in the market. Move on and let shit exchange die.

Yep,,, even with all the question and answers and the discussions, what I can say is that this is the long way to say people are not going to bet their shitcoins back. They may get 1% or something back for sure,,, but only in a long time. Imagine if Mt Gox took years to return Bitcoin, how much harder it will be to get back shitcoins? They should just write it off,,, move on, if it is a substantial amount, get into class action. Best to hope for.

Who told you that Mt Gox has returned the coins to its users? Five years have passed since the robbery, and none of the victims have got any of their coins back. Last month, there was a statement given by one of the bankruptcy trustees, saying that it is going to take another two to five years.

The funds are currently being kept by the Mt. Gox bankruptcy trust. And as per reliable sources, this amounts to some $630 million worth of fiat currency and around 150,000 BTC worth of cryptocurrency.

Even though they had a lot of problems, surely they did their part to restore this. But the problem is how about the people who stored their tokens in the exchange site? Especially if you're using the program for quite a long time and stored a lot of shitcoins there I think it will profit to a little amount and for me that little amount still matters.

I understand what you mean, many coins especially new coins only get listed on cryptopia ,God knows what will happen to those coins ,I'm sure it will be a heavy blow ,its advice able to only invest in good coins that are heading to multiple exchanges not single exchange

This exchange should be dead earlier!, though I have some shit coins in there, but I didn't care with that, considering the values it's only a vew bucks. shit coins will never die until the Holder and the buyer are gone.
do you think Ethereum make crypto worse? because most of shit coins are the Tokens from ETH blockchain or contracts.

Cryptopia is a shit exchange already so I didn't surprise for this. Maybe there is a chance for this exchange to bring back to life again but for me, this is already a dead exchange. Also, I'm not trading on Cryptopia so I don't care if this will shut down or not.

OMG, sad to hear that, I have some coin on cryptopia exchange, I hope cryptopia will allow users to withdraw their coins.
They should but it will take a long time before they comply, maybe it will take some months if they will ever allow people to withdraw their tokens, I have seen so many sell order before it closed down and these are top coins, still worth millions of dollars.

Finally some clarification from Cryptopia from their website. Seem would take ages to get back anything from there if they will ever actually give anything back
