Does this mean that from June 30, 2012 to January 31, 2013:

87.98BTC / 8 mo = 10.9975 BTC / 3,473 shares = .003 BTC/share /.57 BTC = 0.55% dividend on average?

Correct me if I am wrong on that; however, with the new ASICs coming out:

10BTC/66GHs = xBTC/400GHs

4,000GHs/BTC = xBTC*66GH/s = 60.61BTC = x
-----------------------------------
66GHs

Total BTC in 8mo - 175.96 BTC, total paid - 87.98 BTC
New ASIC equipment = 60.61 BTC/day * 7 day/wk = 424.27 BTC/wk (Assuming low difficulty increase for the first week)

424.27 BTC/wk / 3473 shares = .12216 BTC/share /.57 =21.4% dividend on average for the first week?

After 5-6 weeks, the shares would pay for themselves and after that you just get pure profit from the GMP group?

Including electricity costs, the Avalon ASIC #bitcoin miner has now paid for itself.
https://twitter.com/jgarzik/status/300138033590718464

I wonder what "paid for itself" means. Does he mean that discounting the cost of electricity, the board has produced enough coin so that >= 1299 / [mtgox current]? Or does he mean that if he had put $1299 into BTC at some point in the past (when) he'd have had less BTC today than the board provided (after discounting the cost of electricity, shipping etc)?

It means that he is now hashing for 10 days and finds each 2 days and 4 hours on av. a block.

After 20 hours of mining, the unconfirmed + confirmed rewards equal  14.98832170 BTC.  Note that slush's pool was very lucky recently, in addition to some blocks with abnormally high TX fee income, so that number skews much higher than expected.

I'm just happy I got in at such a low price (0.50/share) Smiley

I wonder how high it will go? If the avalons pay for themselves in 10-15 days this should go thru the roof. At 5%/month conservative I can see this hitting 10 bitcoins a share on speculation. I could really use that right now ^^

full disclosure, I own 50 shares.

Our goal is to get 5 AVALON equipped with 6 Modules what will be working for GMP.
When everything works as planed this means av. 600 gh/s.

We aproach the goal of 5 Avalon equiped with 6 modules financialy as it seems in time. Do to the delayed trade-in and the rise of the Bitcoin/USD exchangerate we gained Smiley
Calculated without customs and shipping cost by now, we are able to trade-in 5 Avalon devices, and add 9 modules.
So its not mutch room left for the asic modules! We can soon start to focus on energy backup.
You guys are awesome!
Thank you for the support.

Trade-ins are independent of the 600 units in batch #2, they also have a higher priority.
Module slots have been reverted back to 4 with a possibility to be changed to 6. this is to ensure the proper delivery time of batch two.

When everything works as planed this means av. 600 gh/s.

With the rised USD exchangerate today, GMP has the funds for the trade-in ready.

Cool. I have some shares.

I'm also intrigued by the options trading system on Crypto::Stocks. I've placed a variety of calls for sale on GMP with a strike price of 0.6, ranging in price from .1 to .6. But I don't see any other options. Do people just not trade options there?

The only other options I ever saw there were some puts and calls on the ponzi JDBIF (that's the one that promises 20% per month, hasn't paid that since October but still trades) and there was one option up on IBB for a little while.

Shares of GMP jumped 100% on this announcement. Nice Smiley Cry

Not sure what you understand by 100% but right, the price rose.
0.4 BTC shares were sold out yesterday , now 0.5 BTC shares are avalable.

bid was .30 yesterday wasn't it? I thought 0.60 shares were being sold, my bad. Still, 50%+ is nothing to shake a stick at. I don't think the majority of investors are aware of this news yet.

Highest id was at .35 or so yesterday, but all trades for the last week or so have been off the ask wall at .4.  That got cleared last night and the .5 ask wall started on - so the rise was 25% and was just a case of moving from one tier to the next of sales.

*Scratches head* this is why I hired an accountant.

0.3 Shares was sold out some weeks ago, basicaly as AVALON anounced the first time. By then only 0.4 shares was avalable till yesterday. As there where sold out too, since the proove of Jeff Garzik, we reached 0.5.
There are still 370 0.5 shares left by now.

Feel free to have a look in the trading history: https://cryptostocks.com/securities/9#trading
