There is no custom duty for computer hardware in EU. You have to pay VAT if you import it from outside EU. VAT is different in different EU member states.

I believe the right code is 8471410090, but anyway, If you are in EU, you dont pay custom duty, but you pay VAT (17-27%, depending where you live).

Here people seem to speak about custom duty/tax when it is in fact VAT.

Well then you should be pretty sure you paid it ready while purchasing EU-assembled miners with the chinese parts;-)... So there is actual question inspite of how it is named - how much do they overpay for their miners to the gov. Looks like when you pay VAT you paying for your miner twice as the company assembling your hardware ready paid same VAT for the parts that they ordered from China right? Or maybe i misunderstanding EU customs law - please correct if so.

If I would import mining hardware parts from China to Finland with 1000 euros I would pay 24% VAT in Finland, so 240 euros. If I then later would assembly complete miner from those parts and sell it with 1100 euros, I would need to calculate 24% VAt from it, which is 264 euros. Retail price would be 1100 + 24% VAT 264 euros = 1364 euros.

But now comes important part: I can subtract already paid 240 from that 264, so actually I would pay more VAT only 24 euros. So we don't pay VAT more than once, because every company can subract from selling VAT that VAT, what they already have paid themselves.

VAT is Value Added Tax. Because by assembling complete miner from parts I added value 100 euros, 24% is actually calculated from that 100 euros, i.e. 24 euros.

VAT is better system than sales tax systems which is used in many countries outside EU. In sales tax you can't subract taxes you have already paid yourself and that leads to the multiplying of tax in each step.

So what will you recommend for all those who live in the contries with VAT taxation system? Order parts and then assemble it yourself? But how did you calculated completed miner price, i mean paperwork? Is there any way to change it how do you think?

There's no way to trickt the system legally. I just meant, that you don't pay VAT again, if you sell it, bacause you subtract VAt that you have paid earlier. But you still pay VAT once.

      Administrative rights 12.50

      duty 129.65

      VAT 810.07

      Revenue stamp 2.00

You chosed a cheaper  carrier- FEDEX- But still you pay more, than with others.  UPS or DHL.

If you broker have declared with the correct code, it would not be necessary to pay 3.7% duty 129.65
  Not even in Italy .

Maybe not assemble it per se, but the miner I have has a base CPU board and I think ten boards in that board.  You could have them send a board in an envelope.  The biggest parts are the fan and the power supply, but you can get those anywhere cheap.  All you would be doing is plugging the parallel boards into the main board and attaching the fan/fans and power supply, plus dealing with a chassis.  It would be less than an hour work and anyone can do it.  While this is not ideal, you just paid yourself $40 an hour to build it.

I paid ~USD160 (duties + facilitation fees) on the S7 B7 imported to Swiss.

Thanks, but please, in percentage. How much did you paid for your Antminer - 1800 in USD equivalent? If so you now mostly champion with the lowest fees to the gov)) - less than 10%?
