Here in Finland it's 24% vat (calculated from miner's price+shipping). If I declare it myself I don't have to pay courier company any fees. And if I let them to declare it, they charge me about 20€ more. Pretty much same than Estonia, but we have higher vat. Taric code I've used is that 8471410090 and I put it as a bitcoin miner.

I got charged 15%, for canada in quebec province.  it was listed as "bitcoin miner" on the duties invoice

I got %7 to 13% so far. (Same location) I'm not sure how the carriers handle it. It seem like sometime i pay more, sometime i pay less. I'm not sure if its because they were labeled differently (did not pay attention) or the carrier handled it differently.

Who are you referring to as "they"?  I see it as the country causing these crazy fee's as it's their law's/import taxes.

I know some view companies as but guy for not shipping lower.  Just curious if this is pointed twords the companies or countries as the "they"?

There is no custom duty for computer hardware in EU. You have to pay VAT if you import it from outside EU. VAT is different in different EU member states.

I believe the right code is 8471410090, but anyway, If you are in EU, you dont pay custom duty, but you pay VAT (17-27%, depending where you live).

Here people seem to speak about custom duty/tax when it is in fact VAT.

In estonia is the e‑Tax Board/ e‑Customs environment  and and each company and private person can submit their Custom declaration by himself.
http://www.emta.ee/?lang=en

So I pay from  miners and PSU-s only 20% VAT and pay nothing  a courier company.

If you do not want to declare themselves, then you can use courier companies for Custom declaration. UPS and DHL take about 20 eur for that.

Come to Estonian e-resident and maybe pay less  Cool

Well respected rig owners... Before you cut the box and smell fresh hashes:-) - how much fees did you paid for your very own miner at the customs? And how did they named that stuff? Not sure if any of them put Bitcoin Miners to the goods databases Roll Eyes.. If someone have happyended story how to save money on customs - please share for others in your country as it could be for sure very, very useful for all of us. In fact near HALF hashrate some people simply presented as a gift to the customs guys...

Update: Thanks for all of you for this information! After getting few more countries i gonna wrap this all info into the one table for more easy access. Sure many of those who just on their way to order new miners will thanks for it. But for now please, don't stop - if your country is not yet in the list, dont forget to reply! We need to know how is YOUR customs hungry Grin. Thanks!

Update 2: Please, to simplify understanding for others, kindly use percentage not just amounts. Total amount  that you paid out, then delivery fees (good also, but not necessary). Then - how much in percents you did overpaid for your miner. Thanks!
