Rishabh Pant deserved a place in the initial squad and if it was my choice then I would have picked him over Dinesh Karthik anytime. Anyway, as we say, better late than never. But it needs to be seen whether he will be able to gain a place in the final XI. He is a very entertaining batsman, and I hope that the team management will give him enough chances to showcase his talent.
The only thing lacks in Pant is his irresponsible behavior in the wicket. He gets too excited to hit the balls forgetting the match situation. He can be a good finisher but he does not care that much about it. May be Indian management wanted to give him time to realize his finishing skills. Overall he is a good asset and I would like him to be in the squad.
