Borland vs Brooks easily the match of the tournament so far. Borland is he a new player I haven't watched the darts for ages but I haven't see him before I stopped the start of this year. Very few  legs over 18 darts, some great 100+ finishes, and a magical 9-darter to win the match. Was rooting for Brooks, but can't begrudge Borland the win.

Thanks for the thread! Sometimes I like to watch exotic sports and darts for me is such a sport. I saw many videos with competition highlights on YouTube, but for some reason it did not occur to me to watch the current competitions, maybe now I will go deeper into this topic )

Same here, dart sports for me is like golf sport competition, your first impression would be boring but the more you understand how it's played, you'll definitely gonna hook up to it. I bet Gerwyn Price would win this championship because he is really a remarkable dart player, been a dart sports fan since 2020 and it became my pastime especially when I'm bored.

Oh my god! What happens to Peter Wright? First match and I just wonder when he wants to begin playing darts Huh
Until now it's a little bit boring.

he won yesterday quite clearly against his rival Ryan Meikle with 3-0 Grin
but scotland's William Borland made darts history in the world championship by stealing the show from Peter Wright yesterday as he won his first round match against Bradley Brooks with a nine-dart finish on his debut Smiley

the current champion Gerwyn Price defeated yesterday in his first match (round #2) the english player Ritchie Edhouse 3-1
this thursday the following matches are scheduled:
I missunderstood your post and thought that Price already lost in first game Cheesy. I even went to check results.
I haven't followed darts much this season, but nothing suprising to see Price and Van Gerwen as main favorites.
Also, I hope that my countryman Darius Labanauskas will go far in this championship. Though, his first opponent on Saturday de Decker isn't easy for him.

Just placed a first bet on Fallon Sherrock to win her first round match against Beaton @1.7 .
I think it's good choice. She have very good season and even become first woman to reach 1/4 in Grand Slam. I'm definitely going to tune in her game.

Thanks for opening the topic; I like watching Darts and being from Belgium, I hope that Van Den Bergh can reach far into the tournament. The bookies see Price and Van Gerwen as the top 2 candidates to win the title, shortly after these 2 Wright and Clayton follow.
