Dash is actually Darkcoin, DRK. If you search deeper you'll find a lot of talk about it ... and a lot of scam accusations.

If you read them you'll find out that DRK was a great scheme to make money, not the great coin some hoped for. (imho)

It's because Dash is in a type of weird death state. On the one hand the previous community has effectively dumped it. It was already starting to die when more and more people turned their backs on Duffield, but then after the rebrand everything just went apocalyptically dead and everyone finally bailed.

On the other hand, there still is a lingering inertia that it's useful for short-term pumping, irrespective of its long-term faults.

The net result is zero-participation or long-term interest but frequent observation and rape-pumping.

Honestly, I think dashers can't live very long outside of the vacuum-sealed (for their protection  ) comfort of the echo chamber. Keep responding to this thread and the old (never refuted) criticisms of dash will come to the surface.

--heavy distribution in favor of the people who were able to mine it in the first hours

--masternodes suck at anonymity and are centralizing in nature and their distribution would most benefit those who mined it in the first hours.

--isn't insta-x just a pseudonym for low-confirmation transactions? If true, it's like telling an Apache or a Cherokee you've discovered a new land and you're calling it America.

--why do you need 3 name changes in a year? And why are they all lame?

--if Evan is such a genius, why couldn't he figure out that renaming x coin dark (now dash) is about as useful for hiding an instamine as masternodes are for protecting your anonymity? A forum with more then 5000 pages is no scam to me( https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/anndash-dash-dashorg-first-self-funding-self-governing-crypto-currency-421615 ),there are allways people who scream scam etc in any forum here about any coin,some people maybe burned by a bad trade they made with some coin and call it a scam ever since.
The reality is that they are just bad traders that made a stupid move,well thats your own mistake then.

• Masternotes are complete useless and do nothing to very little in relation to cost. Other anon coins do a far better job for less. Its like asking whats wrong paying someone digging a drench and then its not used.
• Masternotes make the 2 million instamine work if he did not want to insta/pre/devmine the shit out of the coin then he would have fixed it before relaunch after he failed on purpose to get rid of pesky miners
• Masternotes in itself its a fail. Crypto is all about decentralization get rid of masters and not replace a bunch of fraudsters with anothers

Also ranking on coinmarketcap isn't that great of an indicator, something that OP keeps on going on about.

If that's true then Ripple should be better than all the other alts, because it has a high marketcap? Doh it's premined centralized shit. There are a lot of absolute garbage coins decently high on coinmarketcap because either they are premined/instamined/fastmined/whatevermined, they have no trading volume or one person or a group of persons hold almost all the coins.

For DASH, if such a large part of the supply is instamined, ~50% of the rest of the supply locked in MN's with ROI schemes (I don't know the exact percentage, just a number I read in various places on this forum), and it's also apparently currently pumped by the LTC ponzi scammer from China, pump and dump one coin and go to the next.

So coinmarket cap says very, very little.

okay, thats clear and has never been denied, Dash had a instamine problem in the first 24-48 hrs due to difficulty readjustment. Which represents approximately 10-15% of the total money supply that will ever be issued. That doesnt explain why this coin that ranks 4th is so little discussed in this altcoin section.

You misunderstood what I meant - I meant that 50% of the currently available coin supply was instamined in the first 24-48 hours, and now those ill-gotten coins are being used to run masternodes and collect "interest", i.e. get more free coins without even mining.

nothing wrong with it for those that were in on the scam and hold the bulk of coins.

From this list of nodes, at 8h34 am (4h40 after launch) there were 50 Amazon AWS node and 50 microsoft cloud computing instamining DRK (checked using IP whois service). This is 100/124 nodes using cloud computing to instamine DRK. We are at block 2870 and block reward is 500. From block 1153-1729 block reward is 277. After that it is 500 again hence 2294 block at 500 + 576 at 277 = 1306552 DRK (worth about 13M$ now) were instamined in less than 5 hour by Edufield and coworkers using about 100 cloud mining instances. Edufield himself instamined in not even 5 h from 600K to 1169K DRK ((1306K-600K)*100/124 + 600K) depending how many of the 100 cloud mining instance were its own. All this while having purposefully set the difficult ridiculously low and block reward 100 times what it is now.

From 6M$ - 13M$ in 5 h, Edufield did some lucrative work here!

okay, so what exactly is wrong with having a network of almost 2800 masternodes earning 47% Mn payment per block while keeping
the network strong and keeping it attractive to invest in ?

maybe because it's a scamalicious piece of dashtrash with the price propped up by the masternode operators now collecting interest on the ~50% of current coin supply that they instamined...mebbe?

nice try but i cant see any real evidence of Dash being discussed as much as if not more than most coins in the last 24 hours .. so far i found one single post.
for a coin that ranks 4th .. i wonder why ?
