I don’t about other coins but personally I am in favor of holding bitcoins for many years. We all know that they are going to increase in value in the future and with limited supply, will become more expensive. It would be really impossible for people with normal incomes to hold bitcoins after five years.

at the moment (september 4rd) holding is the best option. All altcoins are in red right now because of the bitcoin price crash, so holding is the best option right now.
For example, eth is -20% , monero -10%, and many others altcoins are too down right now.. I am re-buying some altcoins to gain a little profit when bitcoin recover from all this dump.

long-term investment is very profitable, but it is not wrong if you want to try trading, because trading is also to produce each and every day though the result is not too big but at least produce a profit.

Day trading is good if you have high capital to invest as you can make good profits even if there is a small fluctuation and that may not be possible with smaller capital and if you have limited capital then better to buy and wait for the price to pump and in that case you will be making good profits.

If you are new to trading world then day trading can be risky as there are higher chances that you will make a wrong move by getting panic when you price crashing down so at that stage holding longer would be profitable and after gaining good experience you can go for day trading.

I said it more then once here, I tried day trading and I wasn`t good at it. Now I buy and hold some alt-coins, if I see that I`m in good profit I sell if not I hold for longer. If alt-coin is going down I buy more, I did that with ripple twoo weeks ago, when ripple touched 3k satoshis I bought more on that amount.
Some coins will worth much more next year then now, so some coins are for holding and buying more when ever I can. If coin have some peak I sell and buy again when price falls. That is mistake I made with litecoin, I sold on 0.019 btc and I should enter again when price touched 0.011 btc but I thought it will fall a bit more before it went up. I was late for that train, that is good example how you can trade and make profit, it requires risking.

There are two type in long term investment, Are you holder or month trader? Because holder not care about the price of coin they holding, they just create target and forget all. Different with trader, trader are people follow the price of their coin everyday and create some strategy for sell/buy on market.

if I can advise your coin's resistant up to several years to come, if you use for current trading then you will lose because you can not enjoy when buy at low price and sell it at high price several years later.

Both are really profitable if you do really know on how to do it specially on short trading.It is indeed hard and its not really an easy thing and does require knowledge and experience for you to be profitable.This is why some would really fail up on short trading and later on they would decide its better to hold than to risk but i would say its really a nice decision rather than risking on the things that you didnt even know on what you are doing.
