But anyway, it's just a bit publicity for Bitcoin. Not something significant knowing that a lot of people have heard of Bitcoin already, but a win regardless.

The more publicity it gets the more people will think that Bitcoin is a normal thing in everyday life.

I think it's important that crypto becomes known to the greater public. Just a simple mention of it in shows like BBT mean a lot of people who have heard of it but didn't really know what it was all about started googling and learned more.
Is it necessary for more people to buy crypto? Definitely. Will these little things make that happen? It's not like everyone will be buying BTC because of it, but it helps. Not only to get more people involved, but also to de-criminalize crypto in the minds of many people.

When I talk about crypto to the people in my daily life, a lot of them think it's all about buying weird stuff on the dark web and they're scared of it. If it becomes more common to talk about it, it will benefit the general opinion of crypto.

I took it in a positive note, how about you guys , was that good or unnecessary?

Any PR is still PR, look at Craig, he's always riding a hype wave of some sort. The difference is, he's piece of crab, Bitcoin isn't, so I consider this as a positive thing

I appreciate you shoring. I always like to see bitcoin or crypto being mentioned in the pop culture. I've yet to see this and will check it out.  Shameless last season had a good mention by Frank.  The new Antman and Wasp movie has a short mention of cryptocurrency.  Obviously some other good ones such as Silicon Valley.  Either way, whether it's presented in a positive light or not, I think it's positive for the progression of bitcoin going further mainstream.

Sometimes people can overestimate the significance of events like this, they think if Bitcoin is mentioned in some movie or TV show, then tomorrow millions of people will rush to buy it. In reality it's just a drop in the ocean, one single such event is not causing much difference. It's when Bitcoin is mentioned in many unrelated media over some time, then you can talk about Bitcoin becoming more recognized and popular.

Therer were simposons episode about crypto too. I dont think that this really mean something
It is not like it should mean something , thing is , every series have an audience , therefore they are able to capture mind of a lot of people , which in-turns helps them to have an understanding of cryptocurrencies on the back of their head , doesn't matter if they go around buying some or not , it is just making the cryptocurrencies popular indirectly.

A good point. Some of the viewers may know about bitcoin already. However, a part still doesn't really know about it so I guess some will be informed for the first time. They may search about it on the internet and who knows they'll be interested in it. I found it still really helpful for the community because I watch series just like that. I searched for every terms, every jokes, etc that I don't really get. Specially when I really love the show.

I think it is a win. And we are talking about millions of people watching the series, it will reach a new generation in the future too. It isn't necessary to mean something, but it will be helpful in informing others that bitcoin exist.

Talking about TV Series, 'Silicon Valley' and 'Mr. Robot' did much more than any other series.

If I remember correctly, in Season 5 of Silicon Valley, CEO of the company 'Pied Piper' rejected VC investment and rather went for ICO. They even launched a coin named 'pied piper coin' (of-course not real). Bitcoin is already very familiar to most of the people but this was the first time I was asked about ICO by my friends/family.

So yeah, such promo from TV series/movies is good boost for the popularity of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.

How is it unnecessary though? It's not like they added in Bitcoin on the episode specifically to publicize it, they used Bitcoin so they'd have a compelling story for their series.

But anyway, it's just a bit publicity for Bitcoin. Not something significant knowing that a lot of people have heard of Bitcoin already, but a win regardless.

In the episode 9 , season - 11 , The big bang theory tried to tell their viewers a little bit about Bitcoins.
In the episode the people mined some Bitcoins and unfortunately are trying to find where they did mine it.

I do think it was healthy for the Bitcoins community at that time , they did use some words that weren't that good for the community but at the end they did end it on a good note .

Using Bitcoins in day to day daily soap operas could help expand it's users .

I took it in a positive note, how about you guys , was that good or unnecessary?
