Still unable to change my wallet address in the Deepbit system.  I've watched the price drop from $15 to $5 and have been unable to sell any coins because my coins are stuck (held hostage?) in deepbit.
It has been 2 months now and still no help.   Tycho, please man.  It would take all of 2 minutes of your time dude.   Your confirmation system is FUCKED.
As far as I remember, I already sent you the confirmation code long time ago. Sent it again now.

PLEASE ask your system administrator to remove deepbit.net from his spam filter, this will resolve your problem instantly.
We use Amazon's e-mail system and most problems are caused by spam filtering, and the rest - by non-existing or misspelled addresses.

Sorry about this delay, but I have no way to fix those issues except for sending an e-mail to your service's support, which not always helps.

Bitcoin - helping to end bankster enslavement.
I have a solution that would make you pool even more successful than it is today, I noticed you took my other advice of a top miner list and improved it.
My solution would give you > 50% however I have a solution for that as well but both solutions you will not like it, so I will implement it on my pool and If I am right I hope you copy it.  My objective is not to beat you but to make bitcoins a solid system that can never be taken down.

It's time we stopped trusting centralized currency (backed or unbacked) as historically it has always failed.

Just remember currency is not money gold and silver is money even if bitcoins becomes the worlds currency it will NEVER be money.

I am motivated by destroying bankers not businesses I would tell you what you need to do but historically people don't listen to suggestions they listen to success.  It's easy to vocalize an idea it's another to actually do it.

I just wish the linux community where not so... mean and unsupported to those trying to learn the system.  It's been two months and although its been very frustrating I kind of like Linux for some reason.  Weird.

What happened to the average shares/block and shares/block in last 24 hours on stats page? Why was it deleted?

Normal after each difficulty level change.  It'll show back up soon.

Cheers,
Kermee

still not working :/

for url im using www.deepbit.net:8332 and my login, ive doublechecked the login was correct...

If your trying to login with your miner you should use pit.deepbit.net:8332

If just the web site its just deepbit.net

Neither work

Any way i could speed up the updating short of just leaving it open? I would do this but at the same time ic ant mine anymore since both are terminal based and i can only run 1 at once...

I wouldn't think it would take that long, an hour or so.  If you configure your router to allow unsolicited traffic to come in on TCP 8333 that should allow more connections.  My ISP blocks unsolicited traffic so I can't do that.  I'm stuck with 8 connections max but it hasn't caused me any real problems yet.  Do you have a high latency internet connection?

Anyway I would run the client once a day to update the blockchain, however long it takes.  Once it's updated it shouldn't take very long on subsequent updates.

Does your Bitcoin Client show you a block number?  Something along the lines of 145,098'ish?
Sam

Its at ~135200

That block is around 7-8 July 2011.  So you won't see any transactions after that timeframe until your blockchain is more up to date.

Hi, it said it sent 3 payments over the past few days but nothing is shown in my wallet :/

problably wrong address. recheck your client bitcoin to see if it's up to date on the blockchain... and thanks for fixing that ratio, it was bugging me for the last MONTH!!! I guess other people or leaving for triplemining or that other one to offer .0003 since you off .0002xxxx on PPS. The only think i like about deepbit is the under 0m blocks.. gives me around 3-20% more coins.

the bitcoin address is correct, i checked it. How do i update the blockchain?

Just run your bitcoin client that contains that receiving address and it will automatically download the block chain from the internet.  Make sure your router/firewall is allowing TCP port 8333 traffic to pass.
Sam

Im on ubuntu, so its not any firewall :/ restarting the service did nothing. I tried unchecking map upnp but still no dice.

Well your blockchain is definitely not up to date.  Is the number counting up?  It should show around 8 connections too.

Deepbit's stats page shows the last block.  When your client shows the same block number you should see your deposits.

Out of curiosity, what is your client's version? I seem to remember something about some recent version not picking up higher blocks (something about a DOS protection, IIRC).

Firstbits.com/1fg4i :)
It's too much time past my bedtime for me to do math right now to see if that value was right for the time the post was posted; check https://blockexplorer.com/q/getblockcount and see if the number is close to what your client says
