Something doesn't add up correctly for me.

I hadn't used deepbit in a very long time (2 months Cheesy ), and now submitted a few shares.
From the stats page, I can tell that I should've earned 0.01558598BTC total (I stopped mining more than 1 hour ago). However, my current balance shows as 0.01234512 BTC, even though I had a sub-0.01BTC amount left in there from 2 months ago.

I wonder where the remaining 0.003BTC+ has gone?

I don't see any hopper's impact on this pool, it's still above 5Thash/s, if anyone had any real issue, he'd have left a week ago and pool speed would drop downto 4Thash/s or even less...besides I think Tycho would love to get 3% from those extra 200Ghash/s.

between a rock and a block!
I think the pool hoppers are back.   Sad
My payout variance has been too high lately.
I think that some hoppers are there and I'm working on some special routines, related to this problem.
But this should NOT affect your variance, it will only affect total pool's luck. As you may see, it's still good at this moment.
Tycho,
How do we know that your anti-hopping measures do not effect us regular miners?

anyone having abnormal payouts?  mine seem much lower than they should be based on my hashing rate...

We must be having some pretty bad luck. I'm sitting at 1.8 BTC/24 Hrs. Usually I range from 2.6 to 3.4, with 3.0 being what I should make if there were no variance/luck involved.

Oof... Luck is pretty bad right now, even after the difficulty change...

Cheers,
Kermee

Does Deepbit have an i0coin pool like BTCGuild does?  I'd like to mine i0coins with a Deepbit UI since that's what I'm used to.

Am I to understand that hopper are contributing to variance somehow?

Don't be silly.  Nobody is hopping deepbit.

I would expect that coming from a hopper. I read through your forum posts.

Even Tycho thinks there are hoppers hopping in and out of Deepbit.

-- In regards to bitcoinpool.com in a pool hopper thread...

I know, thats why I want so bad to find a solution to their new pool hopping protection so badly.  They just started with it yesterday.  By sheer coincidence no one minded at all because yesterday they were extremely lucky and found like 6 blocks so constantly mining on them was actually a benefit and cherrypicker probably would have done it anyway.

I think the pool hoppers are back.   Sad

My payout variance has been too high lately. Also I noticed by scanning their bithopper forum post that they seem to have found a way to hop here and at BTC Guild.

I did not spend too much time reading, but seems maybe they are using lp data and irc postings to determine when to hop.

I think slush is not effected as they have a different method for paying (as in you have to stay pretty much for the whole block).

why can you say that so confidently? i was going to type up a long post but i thought the burden of explaining your statement
should come first before i try to refute it.

Quite possibly; I noticed the weird swings in pool rates too over the past 24 hours.

You mean this...

This LP "who solved the block" procedure exploits an assumption, that a pool that finds a block will be sending notifications to miners earlier than other pools. This may not always be correct.

And it's a HUGE assumption and from the thread so far I've been reading, it's generally inaccurate.  So I'm not too worried.
