In the last 12hrs or so I've been getting a lot more "Work queue empty, miner is idle" messages from Phoenix.  Not a LOT of them, mind you, but more than I'm used to seeing with DeepBit.  Nothing else has changed as far as parameters go.  Am I the only one?

Is anyone else not getting confirmations on payouts?

Nevermind.  About 10 blocks after I sent payment it got a confirmation.

tycho,

i have been reading that some people claim there is a way to use your pool as one of the pools for a pool hopping
strategy. specifically it was this website making a claim but naturally they demand a donation to get in on the "secret".

http://fasthoop.appspot.com/

based on my understanding of how your pool delays stats i am not quite figuring out how they can do this.
are they assuming if a block is solved and they cannot figure out who did it via screen scraping or an api.. it
must be deepbit?

or do you possibly know something i do not?

Looks like they were simply ASSUMING DeepBit found a block when they couldn't match it with any other pools.  You'll notice now that BTC Guild has followed Tycho's 1 hour stat delay, they took off that part about being able to hop DeepBit.

Full decimal payouts?
Yes, if you enter desired amount in the instant payment request form.
It didn't work, I had 0.04336348 coins in my account and I put 0.04336348 in the instant payout box and I was only sent 0.04 BTC: http://blockexplorer.com/tx/5df6f86e7536c58d1128b5dc30ab74d35d6546fb1d9b2fe92a25e4403ab2c709
I think that this transaction was requested before enabling full-precision payments. Try again.

There are some possible options, but usually they don't give 100% true resuts.
The fact that they don't show it for everyone is a bit suspicious, by the way.

All pool hashrate jumps and dips are visible to me, so if poolhopping will cause a considerable loss for my users, I'll take appropriate actions.

I tried cgminer but it says opencl is not available... well of course it isn't available I want to CPU mine with these servers, not gpu mine. Any ideas?
Just use it. It has both CPU and GPU capabilities by default, but if it can't find OpenCL, it'll just compile without GPU mining capabilities and run as a pure CPU miner. Also, the right thread to ask about it is thataway -> http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=28402.0

What CPU miner would you guys suggest? I have been running ufasoft's on some intel xeon's and I am getting around 30-40MHs per server. I tried cgminer but it says opencl is not available... well of course it isn't available I want to CPU mine with these servers, not gpu mine. Any ideas?

Same here. I am using Intel i5 2500K with integrated GPU, and no OpenCL. It is not for serious mining, just for experimenting. Why cgminer call themselves CPU/GPU miner, if they in fact demand a GPU to run on CPU. Strange logic, IMHO.

I'm getting Error 80190191 too but only on 1 out of my 3 machines.

2 of them are dedicated CPU miners, the desktop worker is running fine but the server worker refuses to connect with any worker account. I have even deleted and recreated the account on DeepBit as well as created an entirely new worker account and I still get the Error 80190191.

My 3rd machine is a GPU miner but I switched it to my CPU using the same worker account the server is and it connects fine. Doesn't seem to be an account problem since I can use the account on other machines without a problem.

Ufasoft miner has been disabled on deepbit till further notice.

Yea, I would be interested in that as well... some kind of "Little Guidebook" to answer "When do I switch from PPS to Proportional?".
The basic function of both are easy to understand, but more info is greatly appreciated!
You will earn most if you switch to Proportional before pool's luck starts to be good and to PPS when you expect the pool to enter some unlucky rounds.

Proportional vs. Pay Per Share

Can anyone point me to any in-depth post/analysis beyond what's on the pool's page?

I'm trying to decide which one to choose and would like to read a bit more on these...

Thanks!
