between a rock and a block!
Proportional vs. Pay Per Share

Can anyone point me to any in-depth post/analysis beyond what's on the pool's page?

I'm trying to decide which one to choose and would like to read a bit more on these...

Thanks!

At what point is the fact given that PPS < Proportional?

It says that my part is 0.03% of the pools current speed... (~1200 MH/s of 4464 Gh/s)

The average time to solve a block is 24 minutes in the pool - so the pool produces about 3000 BTC in 24h.

Is the following math correct then?

0.03% of 3000 BTC is 0.9 BTC --- according to the PPS calculator on the site, I earn 0.69 BTC/day with ~1200 MH/s and PPS.

Small deviations aside, does that mean that proportional mining brings me 0.21 BTC/day more?  Huh

I'm running right around 1200 MH/s and the last 24hr moving window has returned .74 BTC for me (though I had some down time so take that with a grain of salt).

Lol, after 2 months I noticed, that those rewards are for PPS. Always thought that its estimated reward with XXX MHash/s with 0% luck...

Is there something special on the site or something I'm blocking?  Just with firefox.  It loads with chrome fine.  It's strange.
This isn't a bash against the pool.  I'm just asking maybe someone else has a solution for this or something to try for a fix.  It's probably my end or my FF.  I've restarted FF and cleared cache as well without it being fixed.  This has been happening for a few days for me already.  FF is my main browser and I need to use chrome just to view DB.
I'll send you a PM with possible solution.
Thanks.  That was it.  Working now.

I'm getting Error 80190191 too but only on 1 out of my 3 machines.

2 of them are dedicated CPU miners, the desktop worker is running fine but the server worker refuses to connect with any worker account. I have even deleted and recreated the account on DeepBit as well as created an entirely new worker account and I still get the Error 80190191.

My 3rd machine is a GPU miner but I switched it to my CPU using the same worker account the server is and it connects fine. Doesn't seem to be an account problem since I can use the account on other machines without a problem.

2x 5850 actually. Firstly I thought its too oveerclocked, but Im already 30MHz lower on clock and it was working for last 2 weeks without problem (never before message 'badstatusline').Only thing changed since that time is switching to your pool and changing phatk kernel to some improved one from other thread by diapolo and moved rig to other room (cooler one). In addition Im getting those problems and messages only on second card.

Getting sometimes 'badstatusline' using POCLBM. Mostly after this card gets verification failed and Im just wasting time. Can you tell me if its pool related, connection related or personal settings related (clocks etc).
Actually with normal mining you should never get "verification failed" messages.
Do you have one card with single GPU ?

All I get is:

Please wait
Site is temporarily down for maintenance.

And then I get logged out.

Definitely sounds like a caching problem to me. If your other browser works then it is caching the page.

So last night at around 1am I left DeepBit and pointed all my miners to a different pool.  Of course, immediately following this switch you were treated to a string of over a dozen sub-30 minute blocks.  Such an event can only be triggered by me not mining at DeepBit. You're welcome Tongue
