Yeah its still pretty bad. We are ending the day at around 15% gain. So most likely the diff increase will be between 8%-9% sometime tomorrow.

my high guess for diff increase now doesnt seem that high. god damn antminers s7 are selling like hotcakes i presume. still 1100$ around, + customs and duties and you only get it in 1 week and a half to two weeks. I feel diff will increase again and again. I also feel price will explode. I feeeeeeeeeeeeel it.

I think we made 175 Blocks Yesterday (392557-392731)
175-144 = 31 additional blocks.

Now I would have expressed the 31 as a % increase over 144? 31/144 = 21.5%

However I guess this is 31/175 = 17.7%

I assume the 17.7% is correct, but why is that?

It's likely we will not see another flat diff adjustment until next summer, there's going to be a mad push to solve as many 25btc blocks as possible before the halving. After that, who knows what will happen.

You can hope for that, but chances are very slim. I expect another at least high single digits. I don't see what will stop that.

The only great thing is the ones I mined at 220 and held onto now in 440's look a lot nicer. So past mining is paying off more and more.

Probably to get a rough estimate of what the difficulty might look like.

For example, if everyday we finish at +5%, then the difficulty increase will probably be around +5%

No, you were right the first time, the target is 144/day so to show the percentage increase above that target you use 144 as the denominator.

Putting on my speculation hat - That would be a loss of most of the network, and given the maximum difficulty adjustments allowed each period by the code it could take a while for difficulty to drop to a point where blocks were found ~10 minutes again. Not that I would be complaining...

Were talking about HUGE pools making a lot in profits. I don't see them being shutdown I just don't see that. I would guess Chinese government if anything would want to tax it.

But these pools have such huge backing they could easily shift countries it's based in. For all we know they have a hot site in some other country ready to switch on. And if they don't I'm guessing they could get up in another country pretty quick with resources they have.
