I didn’t quite get this thread. What is it exactly? Like your diary and stream of consciousness ?
What are we talking about here? I see bitcoin, altcoins, trump, putin (politics lets say) market caps, information sharing etc, this is all over the place. What is this topic suppose to be?

Hey, BlueStackz! Welcome.

This is a P2P exchange -- though it's pretty dang quiet at present! It's a continuation of a very successful project, 'Un-Ex,' from a couple of years ago: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/unobtanium-in-house-exchange-757232

And the politics? Several years ago, the notion that macroeconomic factors would become primary drivers of crypto prices was not under consideration. Now it's mainstream. I've been ardently studying the GFC since late 2008.

Google 'Trump flips on NATO [etc.],' and you'll find:

' . . . a few hours of extraordinary political shape-shifting . . . '

' . . . full reversal . . . '

' . . . policy swerves . . . '

In brief: NATO good; Yellen/low interest rates good; strong dollar bad; China not manipulating yuan.

And the French election (23rd this month)?

'Users face unprecedented levels of malvertisements and privacy violations. Mobile advertising results in as much as $23 per month in data charges on the average user’s data plan, slow page loads, and as much as 21% less battery life.

In response, over 600 million mobile devices and desktops (globally) employ ad blocking software
and this number is growing.'

‘For BU, the block size limit is [the] locus of an ideological game, where the system can only remain decentralized if this is distributed across nodes and miners. For them, the actions of Core enforce a hierarchical structure that contradict the promise of a decentralized cryptocurrency based entirely on technical adeptness.’

http://www.coindesk.com/hidden-history-bitcoin-unlimited/

There’s a thing here that has occupied us since The Beginning:

notwithstanding how much we want decentralisation, how much can we actually achieve?

We’ve seen savvy assertive players create de facto centralization. We weathered the crazinesses of the ‘development’-premine alts of 2013. We’ve seen small groups of community members become hugely influential simply because they were the only ones left standing. Then came The ICO Craze, welcomed by some and loathed by others. We've seen good and bad uncensored threads. We've seen good and bad censored threads.

And somewhere in there, I think even the staunchest decentralists had to consider the notion that A Development Team – evil centralization! – can help a coin elbow its way to centre stage.

living forward.
understanding backwards./hindsight

perhaps that is the very best piece of literature on BCT.  I read it way back, more as a tell all investigative report, looking for clues to things my gut already knew.

(btw Zimbeck may have turned around the BAY project, over time it may become respectable again)
Swift, BlockNet, Stealth ... still cling-on at the edges ...  XC, Librex, Apex, Utility and the other tripe I forgot ... gone into the goodnight.  That's the story of Surplus Bob.  Wreckage.

Morning, B.N. I should have known that you'd know more about this than me! Bob came to mind when I was explaining ICOs to someone over on Reddit. (sigh: even chose to use Uno as an example of a nil-inflation instrument.)
