Good to hear that progress is ongoing.
Do you have a forum or a github page or anything?

Etlase2 acct has been hacked and the admins don't care.

Network protocol is in testing, partial source and alpha test runs in a month or two. Still a ton to do though.

multiple months, no code
i think this is dead

It's not.

if the closed source alpha were true, you could demonstrate this at least by showing a screenshot, a diagram of an algorithm or a preview sample of the code

I have not been asked nor felt inclined to demonstrate anything regarding the protocol yet. It will happen when it happens.

claiming that behaviour is due to negative attention does not make sense, as not giving any reasons for positive attention makes sure people won"t be convinced to view it positively

I have no idea what this means.

LoL...No!
It will be completely new code base, unrelated to Bitcoin & forks.

But yes, GPL is better for coders' cooperation.
PPC also said that...

Yes Smiley
Wait for some months and you will see something...
what about showing the line of code you said was there in august?
This project firstly will be in the form of "closed source beta" Smiley
Because of too much of evil attention Tongue

Then, if real attention will be gained , it will go open source route.
Likely under GPL ( or something like this )
licensing terms.

oh like PPC.

Bump- is this still under development?

No updates since August 11, 2013.  Angry

Yes, development is progressing, albeit slowly. I can only work on it part time. Still working on the network protocol and is currently around 3.5k lines, but they are highly functional lines that are laying the foundation for "features never before seen in cryptocurrency." The network protocol aims to be very efficient on bandwidth (about 1/3rd of bitcoin) and allows for nodes seeing only fractions of the data to prove transaction validity and shareholder maliciousness. Altogether adding up to something much more decentralized than bitcoin, and cheap to use.

For proof of consensus, see:

Efficient threshold signature, multisignature, and blind signature schemes based on the Gap-Diffie-Hellman-Group signature scheme

By Alexandra Boldreva

Published in Public Key Cryptography (PKC) 2003, LNCS 2567, Springer-Verlag, Berlin 2003

Group signature thresholds don't address the problem of how to limit the number of signers the attacker can provide. Proof-of-Work requires each signer to provide computing resources. I suppose Proof-of-Stake could be used to award the number of signers. That creates at least two problems:

1. You need own coin before you can mine it, i.e. you can't anonymously obtain coin until you've non-anonymous obtained coin (other than being paid in coin).

2. Voting on consensus is skewed to those who have the most IDLE capital. This is worse than Proof-of-Work, where at least users can reuse their existing non-IDLE capital which is their computer.

so what we have here is 26 pages of wanting and hoping and praying. hell, i'd wager that there hasn't been 1 line of code written yet.

No ETA yet. I have implemented part of the network protocol that processes incoming network packets and keeps track of unconfirmed transactions.
