And what a strange bunch we are.
We should have a pool: who's going to be the last (wo)man standing? 20 now, 16 next month, then 13, 10, ... and at some point 2 years from now the last DT1 who never lost will lose his spot for the first time.
I put my money on theymos Cheesy

Theymos said that:
you should not use trust ratings to attack a person's opinions
So basically, tagging a person for personal hate is our problem here. I hope more DT will be professional and set aside their personal hate for using the trust system.

I too think more DTs being professional about it and holding some standards for there tags would make an positive effect for sure.

I was just curious about what are the views of our administrator about the recent ongoing use of trust system and the issues around it ? as it always helps us to be inside the line of the views of the creator of the system. As you used one of his quotes to define improper use of red trust.

I think the trust system is moving in the right direction. It was stagnant and tightly controlled for a long time, it will take a while to change the cultural norms of what the acceptable use of the system is to really see the full results IMO. I think progress is being made in that direction.

I am never completely tied to anything, but let's try this for at least a few months and see how it works.
It's been (almost) a year. Theymos: what's your view on how the the Trust system is currently working?

+1

A view about it from theymos would be more clearing to many users here as even after a string of incidences and pointing of some major and minor flaws in the system in various threads, there is no comment from theymos realted to if it's working fine as per him or not. He has not even commented about it from months now, hence the curiosity.
I think it's all good, abusive DT is easily remove on the system by adding them to distrust list of the other DT. The forum works pretty well, The one who is getting red tag are the one who really deserves it although, the real purpose of the adding positive and negative trust has been defeated because of comments like "troll", "shitposter" etc. it should be based on trustworthiness of the member if they are likely to scam or not. For me that is the only problem, we should remember the trust feedback is originally created for marketplace to labeled the scammers and trusted members.

Guess as long that he dosnt say or write anything about the current system its working as he wanted it . (I think so, but dont know)

For me the system works for sure better as the old one .
But the most know that there will be always people that say its good and others say its not .

Think we are on the good way with it and the most have understand about it .
Also yes it would be nice to hear from theymos how he thinking about the system after that long time its now alive .

I'd give it about a 9/10 IMO and think it should stay with minimal changes if any..

I'd say it's mostly working but the process of adding flags could be a bit less cumbersome, ideally all the steps to add a flag could be done on the same page.

Which is actually a pretty resounding endorsement, given your experiences with it, heh.  Many of the people who think it needs to be changed were citing that example.
Man this is a hard one to reply to..

It's not about the stupid tag to me, it's about opposing Stalin & friends, and it really just helps that..
The tag is just good evidence, a good example I suppose you could say, and actually a damn good reference if looked into so it probably actually does more good than harm from the big picture..
It doesn't limit me in any way, nor embarrass me, I don't really care, and actually think it is such a blunder to the point of it being comical..
A battle scar.. Some users have many many untrusted feedback battle scars, and I only have one, fine..

Overall DT is getting better and better but their will always be things to be done and always control freaks to oppose..
If I get attacked for talking shit against control freaks then lol @ them..

I believe what eddie13 is saying here is the system is fine, but the way the people use it still needs work.
It's drifting the right direction IMO but it's slow..
The overall consensus of DT is also already quite conservative, which is good, and getting more conservative..
A few control freak untouchable stragglers still kicking but give it time.. Rome wasn't built in a day..

I think we should leave the current trust system as it is rather than throw it all up in the air & confuse everybody again.
Maybe minor changes but definitely don't scrap it..
It would be all that work everyone has done for nothing..

There’s not much point changing it again. The same people will still be bitching about any new system because the same old posters will never be happy with any system because it won’t suit their narrative.

Untrustworthy people get negative trust or ~ from peoples trust lists. Those people are never going to be happy because any system will always paint them as what they are, untrustworthy.

I think we should leave the current trust system as it is rather than throw it all up in the air & confuse everybody again.

You quoted the thread, yet didn't see the flag... ok. (why do I get the feel the UID "Lauda" really has changed hands?)
What's up, lord? Is the work in progress? Cheesy Wink

I'm sick of your secret messages. I use translate, so I copy the text. these are not for me man
What's that red part supposed to be? Something that Timelord wrote but removed, or something that you've inserted on your own? Good like proving your theories kids. Cheesy

I don't need a lie! I tell my thoughts directly.
Nobody stated nor otherwise implied that you lied. I was asking for clarification. Poor Timelord must have been doing too much kool-aid lately. Cheesy

You mean like the one that is already in place?  Feel free to support it.
I didn't see that flag, and I'm not sure whether I agree with it yet given where's it is pointing and that there's no support for it.

I'm surprised you've forgotten the flag - the thread is the one that prompted you to give me a negative trust wall post.
I don't see untrusted flags. Why would that be surprising?
