Judging from his reply to TFM I got the impression that he would load up on XMR using TW then dump them on the exchange for BTC. In that case his plan failed (for now).

If BCX is really kickass, they will need to keep it frozen forever (or eventually accede to defeat and let BCX keep his coins which can't be identified) because everything will get so thoroughly mixed that it can't unwound. But I have no idea if that is feasible. Freezing the deposits and withdrawals doesn't stop the exchange transactions from accumulating on the mixed up chains.

BCX would need to have some really kickass technical guys working for him.

I think you have the concept accurately. Any miners with current code (that include the CP) will not honor a chain having a block at the height of the CP that doesn't match the CP hash, but from there forward, it is open season once again.

I think we need a community started for Monero Miners to share their CP, to be sure they all have the legitimate copies.

The core members have been pretty restrained in my opinion and the n00bs have no clue, true, but that is rpietila's doing.

I think that fluffy, david, taco and the others have been pretty good sports over the lifetime of Monero.

I admit I have gone overboard, and the Monero whale group is a bit too vocal, but at least you can sleep easy knowing that we aren't in any way apart of the actual Monero team.

I doubt you could make a good coin that remained silent, it'll be magnetic, and attract everyone for better or for worse.

All the coins with potential ended up attracting all sorts of people.

The difference could be the degree to which the core or official personalities are all over the place.

Also the degree to which n00bs have been induced to invest at very early stage, where they are not knowledgeable about the technology.

Just saying. Don't know if I could do it better. Easier for me to talk and pontificate than walk the shoes of others.
