hi guys.. anyone have any suggestions on getting a wallet to sync?
It has been driving me insane for a week now.
I have tried wallet 1.5.. out of the box did not sync, after leaving for 2 days.
I added eMark.conf file into apps/roaming/eMark.. left for another day. Still stuck.
I have used the last few sets of addnodes posted on this thread.. and also the IPs on
https://status.deutsche-emark.de/I have tried adding them manually through the console with addnode IP add
Nothing.. gets stuck about 3 months from being up to date.
Then I tried wallet version 1.4.1 .. deleted old wallet folders/files from roaming, and kept wallet.dat
Tried all addnodes again.. left it for a day after trying each new thing.
Nothing.. just gets stuck.
How are people getting this wallet to sync?
Thanks so much if someone can help.
Maybe someone can post an addnode .conf file that is working?
The best way to sync your wallet is to find an explorer that shows all of the current active nodes. Go to
http://blockexplorer.deutsche-emark.org/network and add all of the listed nodes to your .conf file. Close the wallet down completely, then use command line or navigate to the emark wallet location and type "cmd" into the address bar in windows explorer (which will simply start command prompt in the wallet folder). In command prompt, type the name of the wallet executable and add "-rescan" like so:
(without quotes): "emark-qt.exe -rescan"
You will then see the emark wallet begin to load and looking for changes (like the new nodes you added to your .conf file). Also, make sure you put the .conf file in the data folder and the folder with the wallet (just copy the entire .conf file and paste it in every directory where parts of emark data are located). The wallet should sync right up for you after it loads with the "-rescan" option!
Several weeks ago, the emark pool at
http://gcpool.eu increased the minimum variable difficulty from 512 to 1024. I have been using USB COMPACS and 2PACS made by GekkoScience/sidehack to mine there for well over a year. When the pool increased the difficulty, it became very hard for my miners to find shares and my hashrate quickly dropped. I reached out to the pool owner/operator, and kindly explained my case while asking them if they could drop the difficulty back down to 512. A few weeks have passed now, and I have yet to receive a reply (regardless of my low 100 GH/s mining speed, that is no way to treat a loyal miner).
In the end, their ignorance probably worked to my benefit, as I have found (what I believe to be) a much better pool at
https://pool.803mine.com. Not only is the fee lower, but block rewards are paid out for free whenever the pool finds a new block. Anyone currently mining elsewhere should definitely give them a try so you can experience the difference yourself!
