I agree that a logo should get updated once in a while, but I don't think designing a 'future proof' logo is possible. Your options look nice, but I don't like that they don't have these serifs or how to call them on the letter B at the top and at the bottom. You cannot change the basics, Bitcoin symbol without serifs is very unlikely to become widely recognized and accepted. I believe that logos tend to preserve the basis even when they do change. And to be honest, I'm not sure Bitcoin needs a cool logo because it's not a company. The $ symbol doesn't change with time, and perhaps neither should BTC.

Hi OP , marketing companies love to tweak designs of well known brands , but to be perfectly honest Bitcoin is a relatively new project and to change the design now would be quite insane ! The logo works perfectly for the moment  Smiley
Why change something in its infancy ( sorry) for the sake of change ?
When a logo is established , unless there is something fundamentally wrong with the organisation or logo , promote , promote and promote!
On a currency side of things - change the Colombian peso logo first ! It will be gone soon anyway   Smiley

I can definitely see what you're saying, however it just so seemed right to me in 2020,
as things are taking off for the new decade, especially after a tough economic situation,
I just so though it might be a time for a friendly revamp Smiley , since BTC aims to be the currency used around the globe,
simplicity & trust is at core - so making a symbol relevant seemed kinda important.
a decade has passed since the last BitBoy design and BTC is no longer as small as it once was, therefore I came with this design.
a simple logo - for a simple currency that can withstand the future appealing to the everyday person.
as for the colombian Peso - well... it's just a fiat, it's not a virtual payment system that aims for wide adoption Undecided so it doesn't seek global relevance Tongue

Designing a logo for a new decade of adoption.

as a tech learner and bitcoin lover, I must say this project is truly a history being made.
however, wide adoption requires appeal.
and as much as I love the logo dating to 2010 by bitboy, I truly think we should use something more... modern.
the current logo looks very iconic, however, after asking enough people I'm afraid to the everyday user it just strikes as too techo-like, too unfriendly and complicated.
the internet became what it is today because solutions made it friendlier, more elegant, and appealing to the average user. so I decided to craft a logo I deem future proof, ready for the next decade of wide adoption:

Yall gotta give it a chance Cool  :

looking iconic and new at the same time. this is the evolution I want for bitcoin. (referring to the orange design, the white one is just a cool addition)
I added some friendly - modern, easy to notice merchant stickers.

thank you all for you attention!
I didn't have the chance to be an early adopter cuz I'm a young zoomer Cry
