I am the original developer of digitalcoin, and now the lead dev on Argentum as well.

And one hard working dev he is too. The amount of services in development for dgc and arg is staggering and very nice to see.

Looking forward to them up and running.  Smiley

Primary focus is on DGC and it should be, but ARG has some really great features for minimalistic coin. It is very stable, fast, almost no orphans. It is the far best minimalistic coin at the moment... It would be unwise to drop it.. It is no competition for DGC, because it is the different kind of coin...

Yeah DGC is my favourite alt coin, however ARG is very underpriced at the moment and will be around for the long term given what Baritus has planned for it.

Suggestion - drop Argentum and just support DGC.  You are wasting your time with ARG.  Dead coin.

I agree.

Community mining support is spread too thin amongst too many coins. DGC has stood out as the coin people are backing with their mining power. Focus on DGC.

(And fire Hazard - DGC's price started plummeting after he was "hired")

ARG is not dead, just not active because of the lack of services.  Give it time...

Hazard isn't active in either.

ARG is not a dead coin, it has just as much promise and services coming.

Cheers for the update Baritus. Too many silly rumors and people getting paranoid. Some people need to take a chill pill Smiley

The price of dgc going down had nothing to do with Hazard. All coins are starting off up and then going down a bit at the moment. Dgc however seems to be one of the more resilient coins for obvious reasons. Most likely prices going down are due to miners dumping and too many new crap alt coins coming out diluting the market.

Great services and marketing will win out in the long term. People need to be patient. DGC and ARG have the most new services in development of any alt coins and some of them like digiclick.co and the dgc/arg banks for example have the potential for massive growth long term.

Great news, especially the involvement of some precious metal merchants. (I was always curios why none of the exchanges offer cryptocurrency/precious metal pairs.)

Yeah can't complain at all having precious metal merchants involved. Should be another fine addition for the long term benefit of dgc.

Hello,

Here's a progress update on services for DGC and ARG. If some of you are not aware, AlphaC has quit ARG development and handed over the reigns to me.

1. Free Bank of Digitalcoin & Free Bank of Argentum
Instead of one system with both, there will be two separate systems. The reasons for this are:
-Co-operation with precious metal dealer to provide a direct method of purchasing Australian Gold, Silver, and other metals.
-Ease of separate platforms over a combined approach.

2. Exchange
There is a revolutionary exchange in development that will include DGC and ARG as two major currencies.

3. Poker
There are efforts to complete a fully featured, professional poker site with the ability to fund with DGC and ARG.

4. Marketplace
A new marketplace using both currencies is currently in development. This is a continuation of the marketplace AlphaC had almost completed for ARG.

I am also in contact with an iPhone game developer that is considering integrating DGC as a payment option. More to follow once the details are clear.

All sound like excellent much needed services and I am looking forward to using them.

Also, I will be extending the current IRC wallet onto the web with the addition of ARG, and I've got some ideas on how it will work closely with these services Baritus is developing.

Anyone who hasn't gotten aboard the DGC train needs to do so now!  Mine it, trade it, and join us at the forums (http://digitalcoin.co/forums) and IRC chat (irc.freenode.net or https://webchat.freenode.net channel #digitalcoin).
