I received 10% of my balance (roughly) to my emergency address.

Well, that's a good start.

I thought it wasn't possible to set an emergency address at ninja, which is confusing me.

I kept seeing people complain over and over that the site wouldn't store the emergency addresses people were setting.

likewise, i couldn't find - and therefore didn't set an emergency address.

I'm pretty sure when I created my account there wasn't even an option for that, buggy or not. Not that I'm worried to much about my 10 LTC but I'd like them to try to accommodate other users who didn't set emergency addresses, if these refunds are indeed legit.

The site had a bug where it wouldn't display the address on the frontend, but if you set it it would save in the database.

That's great and all

I think I would have respected them more if they had just vanished.

But to wait this long before making any kind of contact is just unbelievable.

Even if they lost access to their forum account I'm sure there's some way they could have got the word out. Make a new forum account. Chat on any of the other sites where they know people. Anything but just sitting silent this long leaving everyone to sweat.

Shit just got interesting..

and that is indeed the cold storage address they used

That's great and all, but this just pertains to dice.ninja, correct?

If it was a hack, then was the JackpotCoin wallet somehow accessible in the same way or what?  3 different sites and different coin wallets, correct?

Well I hope if it did happen that way that they come up with a way for people to reclaim their coins through their private links or their 2FA methods.  I think I used an emergency payout address on JPCdice but so far I haven't seen anything come my way.

In fact, unless the cold wallet wasn't cold, I'd be surprised if JPCdice was hacked as well.  Most of the time when someone wanted to withdraw more than a couple million lately, they had to wait for dmf or to4d to transfer coins from the cold wallet.

hate to have so much speculation (second time now, again I apologize) but maybe they ran off with the funds and now that his name, photo and info is out there they are using this as some kind of cover up? they escape with 90% of the wallet, give 10% back to make it seem like they tried their best and get the heat off of them. that seems like the kind of thing that is impossible to prove either way, tho

That's the version I'm subscribing to at the moment as well. The timing of coin movements, disappearance, doxing, refunds to most active doxers, belated explanation - it's all just too weird. It's not like we haven't seen the "hacking" excuse before. There are ways for dmf and toad to mitigate this if they wanted. E.g. post here all the details of what happened and perhaps we'll find some credibility in it. And/or refund 90%-100% to everyone (assuming they had at least 90% of funds in cold storage).

man, im completely financially unattached to this whole development (though was very close to it) and this whole thread has me hooked

i would be floored it the funds come back. it makes zero sense to me that they wouldn't have snap posted in this thread stating their problems. not to mention that sick graph showing investor funds vs fold wallet.

i think we may have flushed them out of their hole! ?  Wink

nobody managed to reach this girl?

i can call tomorrow ~ fwiw  Wink *did someone look up the schools number?

Nobody should be bothering her since he has already been identified. If himself or other people involved don't come in and clear up what is going on, I would guess the next step is taking legal action or at least contacting the authorities in NY.

she maybe could verify his identity to some degree ? :\

The message doesn't verify for me, tried with quotes and without quotes. Am I missing something?

Never mind, it did verify when I added dual new lines, copy-paste stripped them for some reason.

So we are now "hacked". How the fuck could that have possibly affected the cold storage unless it was not really cold?
