It is not the first time Anonymous claims that they hacked ISIS bitcoin wallet, stole their coins and get away from it. But it is the same story every time - it is not backed by any real information.
They could easly post some partial evidence of this hacking attempt. Post address with stolen bitcoin, give it to charity or as compensation to families of victims etc. etc.

This is almost certainly not true. Anyone can claim to be Anonymous - but what's more is that there is no evidence. Send the coins to a burner address (something along the lines of 1abcISISbyeBYE2UrBTC would be funny).

Don't Hesitate to Tip me for My Helps and Guides.
I seriously doubt that's the case and although ISIS seemed interested in technology, I doubt they have a "BTC stock" to be hacked anyway, it might be true though since I think anonymous wouldn't make a meaningless argument like that. If they did steal it I think they would either sell or keep it, I don't think they will do it on exchanges but on more private deals etc...

Shit, did I leave the stove on?
Is it really that easy to hack into Twitter accounts or Anonymous contacted Twitter officials and they closed down the accounts? Also how can they be sure that integrated Muslims living in Europe can't be radicalized at any given moment? I think some of the terrorists have been living in Europe for years. Well at least vigilant hackers want to help the cause of stopping terrorism which is a good thing.

RIP Mommy

They didn't really get into brute force but they simply hacked into ISIS files and found "BITCOIN KEYS" to which allow them to access their bitcoin funds. that just make sense. Because i can't believe it at first if someone actually hacked and took the btcs without the key.

The big question is, if Anonymous has stolen their bitcoin keys, what are they going to do with them? Are we going to see a stash of coins suddenly appearing on the exchanges (either now or perhaps in the future)?
what i've been read from their information, they won't use it for anything since it's illegal they say they'll hold it or even destroy it ( make it lost bitcoin) so it'll neither make them got profit nor helping to funds ISIS, but i hope it'll happen so

I wish they'd give it to a charity instead. I hate the idea of bitcoins being destroyed. It's not like there are an infinite number of them either.

I do too, but it seems like it's going to take the destruction of 20,999,999 BTC to actually cause the law of supply and demand to be enforced (and the price of that last BTC to be exchanged at a legitimate price instead of this hundreds of dollars BULLSHIT).

On Thursday, Anonymous posted a new operation announcement video to YouTube, announcing the initiation of #OpBrussels. Among the non-hierarchical hacker organization’s claims was the following: “We severely punished ISIS on the darknet, hacked their electronic portfolio, and stole money from the terrorists.

This website badly needs to hire journalists to check the facts. What are the facts? How many BTC was stolen? Was the cryptocurrency stolen BTC? Was that cryptocurrency which was stolen? Who was stolen and who made the steal? There's an information in the title, but there isn't any more information in the article. That's how you spread false news.

The article's not exactly a news one more like an opinion column.

@ontopic I think yes, If there's a hot wallet open somewhere in the dark web it's possible to have BTC stolen.

Thats because it is currently mathematically impossible to brute force a bitcoin address.  so bitcoin can not be stolen without the private key.

Do you think the Guy Fox masks are starting to be used as ploys or that just my perception. Lately there seems to be 3-4 masks at some pretty right wing protests. This to me looks like a potential hijack of a group and when you think about the anon factor,it would not be to hard to hijack on a public level. Sure the people that follow them closely would know but the public would not know any names connected to this in any sense.

Why is the Airplane flight that got hijacked today not a terrorist attack according to Cyprus?
Am I missing where the passengers felt their lives threatened! I bring this up because the media again is twisting the narrative to fit their story.

Why cant Brussels round up 5 thousand people like Pakistan did! Cool

Apparently it was not a terrorist operation. Terror is a political technique used in asymmetrical war. The idea is to cause fear that leads a powerful enemy into bad decisions. For example the 9/11 attacks were highly successful in causing the U.S. to completely restructure our government and society around a theme of fear. We gave up our rights and our freedoms, we squandered our treasure and wrecked our economy, destroyed what credibility we had pursuing stupid wars. We really could not have done more to help Al Qaeda magnify their operation.

The hijacker in Egypt was unclear about his demands, but apparently he mostly wanted to patch things up with his ex-wife. That sounds more like a desperate mentally ill man than a terrorist.  I'm sure we'll find out more soon.

EDIT: Yeah, he does not look very scary too me? Especially when he is taking selfies with the hostages.

They should rather give this information to the authorities to deal with. Terrorism is a life and death matter and should be taken seriously. Their own lives might be at risk, if someone from the ISIS side managed to identify them. The CIA / NSA and these agencies are fighting these people and are closing their fiat accounts left, right and center all over the world. It is fine to help with a cause, but it is not fine to endanger your own lives or that of your families, if there is a chance that you might drop a clue to their location. I hope you stay hidden and fight any form of injustice in this world. ^smile^

Think the old anon would donate the bitcoins in a robin hood effort. This new group feels more like hackers using the name for self serving purposes.
Donate the bitcoin to help some of these refugees beinh directly hit by ISIS. There are people starving to death as their city stays locked down. Wishful thinking I guess.

Would be nice if they posted the keys to prove it and allow others to backtrack them for info.

I do not see a shred of evidence to support this. Basically a guy in a mask said it happened.  Roll Eyes

Besides taking their bitcoins, maybe they should also implant ransomware to lock down all their computers!

Has anonymous ever actually achieved anything productive? Serious question. They like making a whole lot of noise but I don't feel safer at night knowing they're out there.

They should publish the public keys for everyone to look at how much they managed to steal, and allow us to understand the financial status of the group. I doubt there will be any confirmation from counter-part...
