I'm a nice guy, so I'm willing to part with six cards for $6,000

yes, GPU price doubled. Due to high demand and every stock is always sold out. The seller also uses the opportunity to profit up to 100% of the GPU's normal price. and GPU distributors also lowered the warranty period to be shorter.

New case in point. I got an email earlier tonight from EVGA saying that they had two models of 1080ti's in stock. I click on the link in the email 10 minutes after it was delivered to my gmail account. They no longer had any in stock.
Yeah, Ive seen the price have rised a lot, its even hard to find some GPU's now since everything is selling fast, a lot of people jumping on minning this days and resellers on Amazon are just selling them at a crazy rate. I will wait to see if they go down or to try to find another website to buy them. Just make sure you dont buy a cheap one this days because it sounds too good to be true, might be a scam.

I did P/U a Gigabyte 1060 (3GB Windforce) yesterday. Paid $379, but I got a free Aorus mobo as part of the deal. Still more than I wanted to spend, but at least I've got a card to fill the last slot on one of my current rigs, and a base to start the next one...

Yeah, I bought an MSI 1070 Ti Titanium a month ago for $469 (Newegg), thought about getting another one a couple weeks back, and it was more than twice the price. Went to Amazon just out of curiosity, they wanted about $1200.

I bought some 1070ti's for $500 each a few weeks ago. They are pretty much out of stock everywhere at the moment, but the price has gone up to $550-580ish on the websites I buy from.
You're seeing small time sellers who just realize they are out of stock everywhere and they are trying to screw people over. No way would I would buy a 1070ti for 1K unless the profitibility was double what it is.
I bought Vega 56's at the end of November ... Out of stock everywhere, but there are some small time sellers on Amazon trying to get $1250-$1500 out of them. Lol ... When I get bored, I troll them for fun.
