If you made a profit, then I don't see any problem with selling. You can always buy some back later if the price drops. There's really no right or wrong answer.

I've been toying with the thought of spending a good portion of my bitcoins on laptops, cell phones and other electronics but I'm just such a saver. I've spent barely any bitcoins in my entire time here because I just love collecting them and seeing a new 'all time high' in my wallet. If the Canadian Dollar starts to climb I may be more inclined to spend some of my coins but for now it's HODL. If we see an ATH I, again would be more inclined to spend some. I would never spend over 20% of my coins though unless I absolutely HAD to to survive.

I bought a cellphone with bitcoin last year when the price was in the doldrums. it's now the world's most expensive cellphone.

it's a good phone but it still pisses me off when I look at it. If you want your computer and had no alternative then enjoy it all the same.

didn't buy a cellphone but i spent many times my money to buy or to pay online services when the price was relatively low comparing to the next hours/days' ... it pisses me off but i forget and pass, then i redo the same thing over Tongue

@OP if you have a dream go for it, the price may increase or may stuck in this level for months and the life is short so go for it  Wink

I'm confused and not sure if I fully understand.

You sold a high number of coins for $200? yes, I'd say that's wrong. Why didn't you sell at current price?

if you thing that it really give you a good profit then you did it right but if you booked lost then it is not a good decision because you can hold it for some time and when the price increase then you can sell it in a good price.

I sold almost all my coins today for about 200 USD (that's what I had in my electrum wallet) and have very few coins sitting on my hardware wallet. I want to build a medium-high end gaming PC and this money is need for me to buy it. Did I do wrong that I sold a high amount of bitcoins about 0.35 to achieve my goal ? I am also happy that I am near fulfilling my goal but also sad as maybe the price of bitcoin skyrockets soon after I did this.

What ever I am the person who wants to achieve my goals no matter the cost so f it whatever the case with the price of bitcoin.

No I don't think so. You've used it for your fun and happiness and remember it's a digital currency not a real one If you think about bitcoins price will go high in future and keep holding it it's worthless because money you've in your hand today worth more than in you'll have it in future.

You'll regret many things in your life, but if you don't want that to happen, don't do anything. Stuff happens. I've missed out on the thousand-dollar iBuyPower holo while investing in CS:GO, as well as the Titan Holo. But guess what? Good stuff happens, just like bad stuff. I built a computer when Bitcoin was stagnant at near 500, and it's now 600. Sure, it's not a big price rise, but it's a good pc.
Do what you like.
