Its because of the advantages crypto gives over the traditional gambling money method. Actually it was my first time to gamble online so I really don't know what's the difference between using crypto over fiat but I think crypto is more convenient because of its feature of being anonymity and since I am from the third world country that doesn't have credit card it would be hard for me to gamble using fiat when I stumble upon bitcoin I was really amaze how easy to use it and how easy for me to buy anytime I want.

We cant take the fact that people would like to make it private if they are doing not so nice things or things that are uneasy on the eyes of the other. Bitcoin, being anonymous, is perfect for it plus, it can be used as a gambling chip. A perfect package for them. It may also the reason why people buy crypto not as an investment but chips to a gamblong site.
I think someone uses crypto to play gambling online because crypto is decentralized so no third party can manage it. So the transaction is anonymous so that it is not known by anyone, especially in countries that ban bitcoin, this is very useful.
