Bitcoin Difficulty shows it going down a little:

Bitcoin Difficulty:    54,256,630,328
Estimated Next Difficulty:    56,836,275,848 (+4.75%)
Adjust time:    After 680 Blocks, About 4.5 days
Hashrate(?):    415,963,691 GH/s

Still a pretty big jump though compared to our normal 2.

It does look like it will be over 5% at this pace even three blocks changes the prediction a fair bit still.
Was thinking it would be lower myself but maybe it's a bit seasonal as the hot summer starts to switch into a cooler fall and the electricity costs go down a bit as those air conditioners turn off. (It is mining speculation ^^)
(Also got prediction sniped at 1.76%-2% with valkir but It looks like it won't trigger so no worries)

Bitcoin Difficulty: 54,256,630,328
Estimated Next Difficulty: 56,950,000,494 (+4.96%)
Adjust time: After 677 Blocks, About 4.5 days
Hashrate(?): 415,018,563 GH/s
Block Generation Time(?):
1 block: 9.5 minutes

I will post a long thread on it when it arrives.
Looking forward to your review on this.  Nice $100 coupon you got there, and with some psu's laying around that seems like a good fit for you.

I will be interested in how much you can reduce the db levels with underclocking.

That would not be fun.  I honestly think we have some machines being made and powered on.

I just hope it does not turn into 5 percent as general difficulty change now.

Hmm indeed thats true. It would be easy to upgrade and the controller board clearly has enough slots to support it. The only thing is you would have 3 S7 blades and 3 or 6 S7+ blades.

By that i mean, the S5+ isint exactly 3*S5, since it has different board and performance, more notably, the J/GH was slightly improved. Not an issue but it might annoy OCD people if they mix boards. xD

And also when we were theorizing that they were dumping S5's to fit in S5+'s...

It might be possible they were making room for S7's. With their electricity cost i don't know if that would be a good move for them, but who knows. And the S5+'s they sold might of been left over of a batch that was sold privately or after they filled one of their mine with it. But whatever.

I'm hoping there won't be that many S7's too soon. I'm not sure a diff increase would bring forth a BTC price increase with its price being so wobbly.

I think it will be a lot but less then we expected.  They released a bigger miner then most thought they would on S7.   Also with 10 PCIe might scare some home miners away that + amount of watts.

I really think they are geared up for a S7+.  It appears controller would work with 3, and they would link together just like S5+.   I think we will hear some home miners grouch about S7.  There is already a thread pushing for a quiet S7 from bitmain.   But I don't expect a quiet or smaller version from bitmain. (Although yes they likely will do another U series with much less power)

when I get the s7 I will lower the sound by 20 db.  I will run it at 3800gh and around 760watts.

I believe this unit will be like the sp20 in that underclock/undervolt will make it heat and sound manageable. plus more efficient.

Hmm. Mhm. Sound likely, i am considering underclocking the S4 that i should receive shortly to see if it help managing the noise. On the S7, undervolting should get even amazingly lower J/GH. 0.2 seem possible if you run it at that speed.

I think the S7+ would be kind of hellish of a monster. In a way it is convenient space wise. But damn a S7+ on a S5+ form factor would mean 3x9+1 = 28 PCI-e connector in one machine ^_^"".

Just crazy.

Speaking from the S5+ it was honestly a good design.  It was an improvement on the S5 by far.  I am interested to see how sales do widespead of machine like this.

I predicted a 2 hashing unit as they normally do, they threw a curve ball and did 3.  Just thinking out loud but it makes not only a S7+ easy.  But a S7 upgrade EXTREMELY easy.  They can send 2 units without controllers as an "upgrade" and all can plug into main controller.  So for those with 240 this could be expanding quickly.

Looking at the S7 specs next month when they start poping them out like candy it sure looks like we will see a raise in difficulty. Only thing is if a lot don't go up to it.

But either way we are likely to see a bitmain data center or two fill up with S7's where they sold off S5's as used.  This will likely be the first to come and might be happening now for all we know.

I don't think mining is THAT lucrative. Selling with a fat margin, getting the money upfront, and not having to worry about difficulty/exchange rate/etc - that's where the money is. So yeah, they might test or "test" them a bit but I think with XT and halving looming Bitmain will want to get rid of as many S7s as soon as they can.

Unless you mean Hashnest, which is customer-owned hardware... but I don't think Bitmain will sell S7 on Hashnest before batch 1 is available.

Bitmain sold S5's out of their own data centers, that's why they marked them as used on last batches.  So likely before customer S7's bitmain will fill their own data center's.  We don't have enough info to know how much that is.  So it is not customer sell's really but internal S7's to itself we I think will see first.

I dont see XT as a big deal.  It's a pain as so much talk but I don't see it getting needed market share.

Wow thats pretty beast. I had guessed 4btc for a 600w factor unit, turn out its a double factor. 8btc for 1200w. Thats too bad i was hoping for something more bite sized. I guess i'll try to get some S5s that'll drop instead of getting a S7.

P.S.:I think you lost my pick? Not that it matters at all since there's no way -0.01% to -0.25% is going to be right. I guess we're going to see a steady +% for a while, until we cap the new gen.

I will fix it.  I got real busy this week.

Thanks, but it will clearly not effect who the victor will be. ^_^"

too fucking expensive
s5+ looks ok from this point

i'm still waiting for s7+ Grin

It's a good thing in a way I guess. There won't be a massive upgrade that would drive the diff up and bitmain of course priced it to match their near-monopoly position.

I think I'll get a few to test them out but will wait for a price drop before buying more.

The S7 controller appears to be same as S5+.  So they very very easily could throw an S7+ together.

Would not surprise me if we find a S7+ a month or so after.  The body design is the same aswell.

14.5 TH/s would be sweet. 20 BTC for the privilege - not so much Smiley

Even for me I find 20 BTC to be high for the amount.  So we can hope they are releasing at a high price.  The could later release coupons or something else.

But I do think the price will have to drop a decent amount before they throw 3 of them together.   Even for Bitmain a 20 BTC machine is something they normally would not do.
