Keep your back light on forever and let it sync, that is probably the most likely reason as it seems to be a common problem per phone device.
Yes you have to keep the backlight/screen on when it is trying to stake as well
It's normal to consume more battery power because you're using an app. Try to stop/kill process of those apps services you're not currently using so that it will consume less power.
There's not much else I can do other than add more nodes. I'm working on something to fix this though.

In wallet click on overview and then take a screenshot ,upload it.However, i think it is staking already.

So how many people have purchased & received their StakeStick Smart TV Staker ?
