What’s New is in DNotes 2.0 Upgrade & Bitcointalk Forum.
DNotes is the blockchain-powered digital currency and peer-to-peer payment system that enables users to execute monetary transactions efficiently, quickly and without any intermediary.
If you have been using a DNotes, you will be glad to know that DNotes has recently announced DNotes 2.0 upgrade along with the launch of its new Bitcointalk Forum, embedded with innovative features and advancer applications for smart contracts execution, mobile applications and global payment systems. DNotes’ recent announcements are exciting enough to attract non-DNotes users as soon as after the upgrade launch.
So, what new features are expected in DNotes Upgrade 2.0? More

These Bitcoin rallies are creating (and are the result of) a lot of increased attention in Bitcoin and digital currency in general. It would be my best guess that the time that it is looked at as a more serious investment vehicle by the professional investors, and fund managers of which Alan speaks is not too far away. The fact that DNotes is positioning itself for these 'due diligence' type investors as he puts it, is going to become even more pronounced when people realize that DNotes is a ground floor opportunity relative to Bitcoin, except built as a reliable ecosystem upon sound business principles and a supporting company that brings forward an intrinsic value (rather than just speculative) that is missing elsewhere.

I'm looking forward to analyzing the likely causes of these rallies, and the resulting / causal responses from state actors.

There was a further "growth potential" chart posted (along with a few other coins) at the same website.

I see very few reason for any serious investor or investment group that maintains fiduciary duty to its clients to gamble on a speculative gain without a trackrecord, or more predictable forces to ensure its success than "lots more people will come and buy this at a higher price". The strategy for DNotes to help provide a floor price through gifting some of the company DNotes Global's equity (that develops for the currency), to the currency itself means that the market price must always be worth equal to, or more than the profits that the company is returning to its shareholders (currency holders). We have not yet seen this done in the industry, and no doubt, investment managers may find that stabilizing intrinsic value very appealing.

It is a unique approach as part of DNotes shared stake philosophy from before the first day of launch. Modeled in such a way that the success of any individual component lends to the success of all others and ultimately benefits all DNotes stakeholders. A Utopian, self perpetuating, capitalist engine of economic freedom, separated from central control, capable of helping and lifting people anywhere in the world.

That is an excellent prospective. As CoinTelegraph's Raunaq Vaisoha said it, ‘DNotes Will Be Known as the Currency with a Purpose’

https://cointelegraph.com/news/dnotes-will-be-known-as-the-currency-with-a-purpose

‘DNotes Will Be Known as the Currency with a Purpose’

After a life-long fascination with how computing power can be used to solve problems, Alan Yong, founder of DNotes, wanted to add a human element to cryptocurrency.

“DNotes must be built as a digital currency for everyone, irrespective of financial standing — from the poor to the super rich; from the unborn to the most senior. It must deliberately attempt to include and assist women to help close the gender gap.”

— Alan Yong

After being introduced to cryptocurrencies in 2013, and conducting some serious research, Yong went on to found three cryptocurrency-based organizations:

The Cryptocurrency Investment Savings Plan (CRISP) — A student-centric, self-directed investment plan that utilizes DNotesVault to release 100 DNotes to willing participants, without requiring them to pay for it. The first 200 accounts to register will be awarded 100 DNotes, plus 10 DNotes each month thereafter, until the account reaches 500
CryptoMoms — A dedicated mission to increase women's participation in cryptocurrency
DNotes — An altcoin with a holistic aim
In 1989, Yong founded Dauphin Technology, Inc. and quickly became a well-regarded visionary in the early days of mobile computers. In 1992, his company became the Pentagon's largest supplier of laptop computers after winning a US$395 million contract. The Dauphin DTR, a handheld computer that competed head-on with the Apple Newton, was among their best-known products.

CoinTelegraph spoke with Yong to learn more about his most recent projects.

CoinTelegraph: What about bitcoin influenced you to create DNotes?

Alan Yong: I feel that the concept of verifiable public ledger for every transaction using ingenious consensus technologies will have world-changing implications, leading to a quantum shift in how we conduct global business, resulting in a large-scale disruption of existing systems, especially in the financial services industry.

“No one has sufficient self-interest to promote and protect Bitcoin, with an over-emphasis that it is a trustless system. [...] How could I hand over my life savings, if no one could be held responsible or would stand by it to give me the confidence that it is in good hands?”

In addition to business, I also have a background in behavioral science and it did not take me long to conclude that the industry has already developed a culture of its own. It is a culture of self-destruction, high stress, and blatant disrespect for other’s properties and human emotion. I had never seen any business that had a chance of survival in that kind of hostile environment. No wonder the male population has dominated it by a ratio of 95 to 5, male to female.

I made one other observation. No one has sufficient self-interest to promote and protect Bitcoin, with an over-emphasis that it is a trustless system. I thought, what is trustless is the transaction between two parties, where it does not require a trusted intermediary.

My goodness, how could I hand over my life savings, if no one could be held responsible or would stand by it to give me the confidence that it is in good hands? To me, it is hard-earned money no matter what you call it; commodity, property, or virtual currency of no intrinsic value. These I believe are the serious problems confronting our industry, keeping it from gaining traction towards mainstream acceptance.

DNotes decided since day one that, to be successful, it must create a new culture. That new culture must be built with trust and integrity, promoting mutual respect and cooperation, collaborating in a highly productive environment, focusing on the accomplishment of long-term mutual benefits.

Starting with a shared-stake concept, DNotes must be built as a digital currency for everyone, irrespective of financial standing — from the poor to the super rich; from the unborn to the most senior. It must deliberately attempt to include and assist women to help close the gender gap.

CT: How is cryptocurrency as a platform helping to solve the student debt crisis? What benefits has it posed over fiat?

AY: Coming from a very poor family, I am passionate about using education as the most effective tool to help others move up the social economic ladder. It bothers me a great deal to take notice of students’ increasing debt burden.

As a society, instead of giving graduating students a head start, we saddled them with a significant student loan payment right off the gate. That is sad. If that was my case, I would not have been able to start my own business after receiving my MBA at Northern Illinois University in 1976, and we would not have DNotes today.

“A small amount invested has the potential to make a big difference. Whereas, using fiat currency as a savings, the true impact is likely to be negative.”

Especially in the case of DNotes, we have positioned our digital currency on a path towards long-term growth for as far as we can project. Since we don’t expect sizable investment by any individual in CRISP For Students, the potential for huge returns is of major significance.

A small amount invested has the potential to make a big difference. Whereas, using fiat currency as a savings, the true impact is likely to be negative, since the potential yield will likely be lower than the loan service. That being the case, it is better to use the extra money to pay down the loan.

One of DNotes future plans is to engage and challenge the top 2% and other wealthy individuals to help solve the increasing student debt crisis. Through our CRISP For Students programs, we are committed to working with students worldwide to develop multiple projects for others to participate in, including scholarship funds. It is important that students take advantage of this and sign up for the savings account, even though it is still in pilot stage.

“CryptoMoms has been very successful by all accounts. In over a year, we have over 7,000 registered members and very active participation.”

CT: What impact has CryptoMoms had on women’s empowerment?

AY: CryptoMoms has been very successful by all accounts. In over a year, we have over 7,000 registered members and very active participation. The content the community has contributed is impressive. It is already a valuable learning center for anyone new to Bitcoin and Bitcoin alternative currencies.

The site is quite definitely well-supported and frequented by women. We basically created a forum with a conducive and supportive environment to empower women to have a space of their own in the cryptocurrency world and let them build it up to their expectation and benefits. No doubt it will pick up momentum over time to be a powerful force and a strong voice for women in the new world of digital currency.

Our industry absolutely needs a drastic increase in women’s participation to gain mass acceptance. They control the purse strings and we respect that. Our CRISP For Kids is actually the contribution of one of our CryptoMoms community members, Chase. It has been well-received and has even attracted some grandparents.

CryptoMoms is also a currency-neutral site where other coins can promote their products and services for free, and a very large number have used that platform. They all have used the service with great respect for everyone and some have been extremely helpful to others. Personally, it is very rewarding for me to see that.

CT: What do you have in mind for the future of DNotes and your other crypto initiatives?

AY: It is estimated that by the year 2020, over five billion smart phones will be in use, and there are 2.5 billion people worldwide today commonly referred to as the unbanked, for not having a bank account or serviced by a bank. I am absolutely convinced that a stable digital currency — with reliable long-term appreciation, in partnership with international charity organizations and the United Nations — will soon have a viable option within our reach.

“DNotes will be known as the currency with a purpose.”

With two simple cell phones, or computers with an Internet connection, one can be set up to send and receive funds and conduct global commerce, thereby solving the problems of the unbanked. This alone has been my inspiration to work long and hard to position DNotes as a large-scale global digital currency that can take full advantage all the superior features of digital currency and blockchain technology.

We envision that within 24 months, we will have a world-class, licensed and regulated exchange trading DNotes, Bitcoin and a couple of other digital currencies. There will be an online global marketplace for students, a second one for small business owners, and a third one for women. They will all be launched on global scale. DNotes will be known as the currency with a purpose, with increasingly broad-based support.

CryptoMoms will be a significant catalyst in attracting women’s participation, with increasing support from professional women. It will become the voice of women around the globe, and a power force hard to ignore.

As the industry matures it will attract more serious investors to take a closer look at the most viable opportunities that meet their investment criteria. It is demanding for DNotes position itself to meet a higher standard, but the payoff could be significant over the long term.

Thank you for the post, Chase. DNotes is built for long-term investors who believe that the viability of a digital currency over an extended period of time will not escape the need to demonstrate fundamental values. The lack of intrinsic value at this highly speculative stage where meaningful due diligence can not be objectively performed will eventually come to pass. Professional investors, investing for their own accounts, or managed funds will give preference to DNotes and others where due diligence on value propositions can be accomplished with relative easy.

Investing in Bitcoin and other digital currencies is certainly not for the faint of heart and no one will deny that it is speculative. Speculators will practically pay any price if they believe that they can turn around and sell them at higher prices. “ … a Speculative Asset with “No Intrinsic Value” may sound debatable but tough to defend.

Some may be creating more fundamental value than others but most may not bother. Over the longer-term it pays to be able to differentiate. At DNotes we have been devoting a lot of resources to ensure that DNotes will have significant “Intrinsic Value” one day.

Bitcoin a Speculative Asset with “No Intrinsic Value”, Says Business Insider Founder
Samburaj Das on 30/05/2017

As bitcoin captures the world’s attention while soaring to unprecedented heights, the cryptocurrency has been labelled as an asset primed for a bubble, with no intrinsic value.

Henry Blodget is the founder, CEO and editor of prominent financial news publication Business Insider stated:

Look, this is a perfect asset for a speculative bubble…There is a finite supply. There is no intrinsic value. If anybody is persuading you that it should somehow be related to some GDP or gold…put down the Kool-Aid and back away.”

He's right about bitcoin's intrinsic value, of course - though he could substitute virtually any means of exchange or asset in place of "bitcoin" and be equally correct. Fortunately, Dnotes' unique value proposition isn't based on speculation from a trading standpoint or on some noble hope that the marketplace will figure out how to use it to make a worthwhile contribution to mankind's progress. After all, hope is not a strategy. DNotes is unique in that the team that's brought it to life remains committed to building a dynamic ecosystem capable of bridging the gap between cutting-edge decentralized digital technology and the clunkier centralized financial systems that continue to leave billions of the world's citizens underserved or altogether ignored.

I continue to believe that this digital currency is one that can help to transform the world and create solutions that help to empower ordinary citizens in almost every nation on the planet. It's that important, and the video series will hopefully help to flesh that out in a way that makes sense to not only crypto-enthusiasts but crypto-neophytes who may be trying to understand why any of this matters.

With that said, I'd offer my own humble opinion about some content that I'd like to see explored in greater depth in a future video: paint a picture of what the world could look like for average consumers, businesses, and those who are underserved by the banking world once the DNotes strategy is implemented on a broader scale. Technical analysis and feature explanations are important for early and future stakeholders, but less crypto-savvy individuals will need the dots connected for them before they understand how it can eventually benefit them in their everyday lives.*

Hope might not be a strategy, but the DNotes strategic vision is one that can inspire hope.

*I apologize in advance if that sort of video was already produced and I somehow missed the link. Been suffering from a touch of bronchitis, so it's entirely possible that it escaped my notice.

Thank you DCEBrief.

It's incredibly important that we simplify the video content as much as possible so that people unfamiliar with crypto can have the dots connected for them. One of the problems in our industry is that when people make content, they relate ideas together that are not obvious to the laymen - requiring some level of background knowledge to make the connection between the concepts.

I'm satisfied with the effort in this video - it provides a good base to launch further from. The next releases I contribute to will be more structured / planned I think. And make sure that all ideas contain an explanation for crypto-savvy, while breaking it down for those less familiar. I will also consider doing the segments individually in different videos so to respect our more knowledgeable industry peers.

You have been writing some great content at DCEBrief, perhaps I'll send the proposed structures, or a practice video by you for comment.

That video is outstanding in every respect, and something that the entire DNotes community can point to with pride. It's also one of the few crypto-related presentations I've seen that didn't leave me with that "hey kid, wanna buy the Brooklyn Bridge?" feeling. Nicely done.

Absolutely, a glimpse into the future of DNotes is an excellent idea! Agree, we will have to make it understandable for everyone who may be interested. As Tim mentioned, it will be great if we can incorporate both elements for the crypto savvy as well as breaking it down. It does pose a bit of a challenge to make it and engage everyone.

I absolutely love this - one of the quotes I have adopted is:

"Hope is the currency of losers"

Because winners make things happen - to hope is not enough. We are not hoping for any outcome, we are instead making it happen through positioning ourselves the best way possible through many angles. Everything needs to grow in tandem, and no lagging part may exist, to make the most of this unprecedented opportunity.

I'm sure everybody has heard:

"Patience is a virtue,"

Just watch.

Agree!!

"...value proposition isn't based on speculation from a trading standpoint or on some noble hope that the marketplace will figure out how to use it to make a worthwhile contribution to mankind's progress." - I can't believe not only how prevalent this attitude still is, but how much worse it is over the last few years! In may be the threads I happen to check out in Bitcointalk, or the 'to the moon' headlines staring at me every day, but the word investing is now being used for day trading, and long-term investing is being used in place of what is really short term savings/trading/investing moves of 30 days to one year (the one-year 'long term horizon' investor is very rare). The 'let them come to us' comments and attitude is everywhere.

"DNotes... ...bridging the gap between cutting-edge decentralized digital technology and the clunkier centralized financial systems that continue to leave billions of the world's citizens underserved or altogether ignored."  Smiley Smiley

"...paint a picture of what the world could look like for average consumers, businesses, and those who are underserved by the banking world once the DNotes strategy is implemented on a broader scale.

The next in the series should be available in a few days.

If you have any specific video requests or ideas for videos, please feel free to post them here. Whether it is related to DNotes vision, strategy, technology, or even general digital currency, your suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Here are a couple to get started with:
-DCEBrief and its relationship to DNotes and DNotes Global Inc.
-Reserve banking, and how it compares to DNotes / Bitcoin
-Hot Wallets vs Cold Storage, and the safety of your coins.

Here's a few ideas for the list:

-  Why there needs to be a business/gov/bank friendly cryptocurrency that plays by the rules.
-  Why government issued digital currencies are not investments, and how they differ from DNotes.
-  Too many cryptocurrency / blockchain projects are targeting a niche market or building around one service. How is DNotes different and what does that mean for the investor?

Excellent ideas Chase! Thank you.
