BitMEX CEO Says Bitcoin Bears Could Linger for Another 12 to 18 Months

https://dcebrief.com/bitmex-ceo-says-bitcoin-bears-could-linger-for-another-12-to-18-months/

Bwah, that's still pretty long time Roll Eyes I hope that he is wrong Tongue

Well, it depends on what he envisions. My takeaway is that he was just throwing out the possibility, based on past experience. At the same time, some stability would be useful during a period where DNotes plans to aggressively push mass adoption. That type of wild bullishness can make a lot of people a lot of money, but it also distracts from our efforts and long-term goal of bringing digital currency to the masses as a useful, inclusive, and self-empowering parallel currency that can improve lives and open doors to new job and wealth creation.

You're right though... that is a long time. But look at it this way: it's even longer in dog years.

I also hope that he is wrong, however it wouldn't surprise me at all if he turns out correct. The market is diluted beyond imagination with blockchain businesses and various coins that all do essentially the same thing. While the market as a whole *may* not grow for a while, there will be superstars within the market that will go against the market trend if their infrastructure is built, and value is well enough communicated to encourage consumer uptake rather than just speculative demand.

The price is always nice to see high, but value leads to higher prices in the long term (and value can be built upon prior value built), so it's always preferable to to see expansion in the value of what a network or product can do as opposed to what people psychologically think it is worth.

I'm sure he has a unique perspective on the industry, given his position. But you never know what's right around the corner. Another bear run could be exciting and draw in new people, it's also a double edged sword if it's not sustainable there is a lot of potential for people to get hurt.

Well since my current financial position does not allow me to buy more coins even if there would be beat run, I would much more welcome bull run in the coming months to capitalize and sell some of my coins...not DNotes of course, those I are my long term investment Wink

If anyone wish to read it, I have made a new blog post, also featuring DNotes. You can read it here: https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@primoz82/indecent-offers-on-linkedin-and-my-thoughts-about-some-crypto-coins   Wink

Fantastic work on that article Primoz!

Many great insights, a few that I'll comment on:

Firstly, LinkedIn is quite the social community. Your social network can grow very rapidly because so many people want to grow their personal network and brand and/or engage in solicitation. I'm quite convinced that people would go all the way to the moon to get more connections and followers in the social media age.

Unfortunately, while there are a lot of decent people and opportunities to be found on LinkedIn, a lot of the content and people are using it for less savory purposes. It's much like cryptocurrencies or any other network that has great potential to assist good people -- the occasional bad person finds a good use for it. But as all regulators need to be reminded, we wouldn't make shoes illegal just because robbers will use them to run away from a crime scene.

I like your mix of cryptocurrency projects that you have personally invested in. I notice you have Bitcoin, Ripple, and DNotes or (decentralized, centralized, and one that combines the best of both world's where appropriate within its ecosystem). I think that over time, it will become more clear that the combination of both may be needed.

DNotes is indeed very different -- the central quality that preempts just about all others, that we hold paramount, is to be the most trusted brand. A trusted reputation can be built upon. Unsolicited business offers from people you don't know on LinkedIn cannot.

Thank you Tim for you insight and comments Smiley I believe that I have slowly learned to separate the good from the bad ones, meaning the crypto and also LinkedIn connections  Smiley Sometimes at crypto it is not so easy to do so, since on the first sight it may all look perfect, but if you take your time and monitor the coin for some time, you can easily see how active is the team behind it, if it gives false promises etc.

I have soon noticed that DNotes team is one of the most active and that you do not give and false promises just to pump the coin, and that is what draw me to this coin and the reason I'm supporting you today, the best I can Smiley

That is a fantastic write-up, Amadeus82. You are a great story teller with very compelling arguments and conclusions. We appreciate your support and kind words very much. Thank you.

Adoption of revolutionary technologies takes years, something decades. Strategic positioning while building a trusted brand, industry respect, recognition, and reaching out beyond our industry are some of the most crucial contributors to scaling at the right time for future success and dominance. Those are the guiding principles that inspire us to do our very best each and every day.

We are always in the mode of constantly building and expanding our sphere of influence and let the price of DNotes takes care of itself. Free market forces always work best over the long-term.

Oh here it goes Roll Eyes Bitstamp was our (Slovenian) exchange and very reliable and popular in this parts...I hope it stays that way Undecided It did have BTC/EUR and BTC/USD trading pairs, but then just LTC, XRP and BCH, so it did not have tons of different coins, like some other exchanges. But it was (is) great to exchange EUR to BTC and vice versa Smiley
