Bitcoin Rewards Firm Lolli Raises $2.25 Million from Investors

https://dcebrief.com/bitcoin-rewards-firm-lolli-raises-2-25-million-from-investors/

What a raise!
25 mil. has actually not a small figure.
The LOLLI team have done great things.

Interesting, rewards style program when you checkout on a partner site, then get back bitcoin as a promotional reward. I'm sure that would attract a good deal of attention among crypto enthusiasts.

Yeah it seems that they've made a product that people would find useful -- at least carved out a small niche for themselves for the time being.

The plan is to transfer them to regular DNotesVault accounts. Subject to change. Along with all interest earned and they will become unlocked without any penalty.

WSJ: SEC Investigating $50m Crypto Lending ICO, SALT

https://dcebrief.com/wsj-sec-investigating-50m-crypto-lending-ico-salt/

Very concerning times ahead for many projects out there -- once you're labelled a security you're not only risking fines but civil lawsuits if people decide that they were misled, which could gobble up much or all of the remaining assets held by the raising company. Some experts have gone so far as to say that if 2018 was the year of the ICO, that 2019 will be the year of the ICO lawsuit.

It is difficult to predict what the effect will be on the industry as a whole -- but likely many of the weaker hands will begin to shake out, many of the ICO projects that remain will begin to fall, and attention will move back to more classical cryptocurrency models and potential shifts to security token offerings (STO). I tend to believe that it there will be a shift towards quality, and that even if there is much less trading speculation in the space, that the industry will grow more steadily at that time -- much like what you saw with tech giants like Amazon after the dotcom bubble.

Overall, this industry will continue to offer amazing opportunities, and timing will be everything.

Well it seems that Alan was right and crypto as whole will still see some big shakes and only the ones that are prepared for challenges of future will survive.

It is very reassuring that DNotes was created and is being developed with that in mind Wink Road ahead is still long, but at least we know that we are on the right path Wink

You make a great point Amadeus82. The road is indeed long, and the next year or two could see many well-funded projects begin to feel the squeeze of their funding reserves and subsequently need to review how they deploy their available capital. I've noticed many projects already doing this to ensure longer-term survival. Ethereum has dropped from its all-time-high of $1417 down to now some ~$180ish. The bulk of ICO projects that raised funds in the later phases of the crypto bull run will have discovered that their original investment may be only 15-40% what it was when they raised the funds, and they'll continue to draw from them at this reduced rate. As Warren Buffet said "When the tide goes out, you discover who has been swimming without any clothes."

Agreed. As long as we stay the course, regardless of the ups and downs of our industry, and keep taking steps forward toward our goals, DNotes trajectory will eventually become unstoppable. Seemingly insurmountable objectives are overcome with strategic planning and positioning and perseverance. Hang tight, we are working hard in the background to ensure the future of DNotes.

Indeed Joe, always heaps going on. There are many opportunities and routes that we can choose, but applying those strategies will help us to make the right choices and score the best opportunities even as a much smaller industry player. Alan did this in the past with Dauphin when his small computing company won 2 large government contracts against the largest computer industry players, and that led to his business rapidly scaling. A lot of success is being able to compete and win against much larger competition, and seize opportunities after you are in the best position to do so. But these success stories and wins rarely happen overnight -- but it only takes one perfectly suited partnership or deal and you can find yourself quickly in a position of obvious competitive advantage.

DNotes

This week is International Fraud Awareness Week, and DNotes EDU is showing support with a series of fraud related articles.

Fraud Prevention – Identity Theft

https://www.dnotesedu.com/2018/11/fraud-prevention-identity-theft/
new avatar for Dnotes, so are there bounties on the way now?
Something like signature company with new Dnotes signature codes?

I can't speak for DNotes, but DNotesEDU will not be doing any giveaways in the foreseeable future.

We are always interested to hear proposals for bounties and giveaways. There are a couple of challenges when it comes to giveaways and bounties. Ensuring the program cannot be exploited and ensuring there is enough liquidity and market demand to support it, to name a few. Signature campaigns could be helpful, however it would have to be coupled with other programs to really draw in attention and participation to make it really worthwhile.

CREX24 is another exchange you could look into (https://crex24.com). It is currently smaller then Mercatox (UK) but belongs to the EU.

Thanks AlCamus, they have a good deal of internet traffic and there is a footprint on the web about who they are and where they are registered. They also have a trading API. I've filled out their form and sent them a message.

Great article! I am afraid that many people do not realise the dangers of identity theft, and how easy it is to tole someone's identity Shocked

Be really careful when giving away any personal information!

Awesome find Chase, and great article -- I'm always impressed when other people really grasp the things that we're doing within a long-term context.
