Remember that this world runs on money, a lot of crimes that have existed involve money, cause no matter how much you have even just a small amount of BTC, its still yours, so it is up to you to decide which you can trust and keep it secret.

Well, maybe you're right, maybe we have different circumstances and living environments so we have different thoughts. Because in my family, for example, we live in harmony and always help each other. I am a person with a good income but no one in my family has ever asked me to give them money, each family member has their own job and income.

I also agree that there have been many cases and crimes related to money, but not everyone is bad and there are no good people in the world. Depending on the situation, I think we should also be open with each other, because suspicion will always be a barrier that drives people further and further apart.
everyone has to live independently, that's what my parents and my uncle taught me, it seems good to provide assistance to other families, but will the quality of life of these people get better if they continue to receive assistance? of course that will only make him or her continue to be spoiled and try to continue to get help, and in terms of bitcoin investment, i will not give 100% trust to other people, in fact there are many cases out there about people closest to them betraying those closest to them.  Therefore, you don't need recognition at all, flexing is not important, if you do have a large amount of bitcoin in your personal wallet account then be humble about it because people out there will target you, they want to steal something that you have.

Everyone in the family helps each other, meaning everyone is willing to support each other in every job and every situation, not just for money. Furthermore, if they encounter unexpected difficulties and we help them, it does not make them spoiled and parasitic on you. If we talk about living independently, I even refused to inherit the land my father gave me, because I can afford to buy a piece of land for myself, so I understand what it means to be independent and help others correctly.

Even we ourselves sometimes don't completely trust our decisions, how can we trust someone 100%? But don't be too suspicious of others and always want people to trust you while you always doubt them.

No dream is too big and no dreamer is too small
I was listening to a news that one of the relatives of a person kidnapped him and asked him for bitcoin in ransom. This happened because that person showed his bitcoin holdings to many of his relatives and news spread among them that he has lot of money invested in crypto. Though, finally funds were recovered from that guy but he could have even lost his life in the whole scenario. Thus, you should be careful with disclosing about your bitcoin holdings to everyone.
While you have a good intention to share your achievement to your relatives so that they will also be motivated to invest in bitcoin, but its like you are only tempting them to create an attack against you because what you have is that what they don't have, and they hate the feeling that you have been prospering the whole time while they stay being poor and penniless. Most likely, your intention of helping them creates another meaning and that only puts yourself into unsafe situation.

This is why flaunting what you have is not really healthy and advisable. Instead, save it to yourself and to the people who want to support your success, not on the people who are secretly praying to see you falling down.

In today's society, wealth can make you a target for different types of criminals. Kidnappers, scammers and even murderers may target wealthy people because they know they can make a lot of money from them.

For this reason, it is important to keep your financial life private. You shouldn't brag about how much money you have or where you live. You should also be cautious when sharing your personal information online.

I don't understand why anyone would want to share their holdings. This only increases the risk of being attacked. If you're looking for attention, there are other ways to do it without risking your life and property.
Many people do this thing for many reasons such as fame, to be respected and just to for the ego and pride. You should know the world we are now, people do anything for fame. Bitcoin is one catchy thing that can easily put one on the spotlight, so it should not be a surprise why you see people do it.

I will never advise anyone who is not ready for the consequences to try it. There are many ways to regret the effect of the gratification that comes with the feeling of affluence in public.

I have also realised that there are people doing this show off for the purpose of content. To them it is all about the impression on social media, a game to enable them build the impression for monetization.  Even though this is a weak argument, everyone is free to explore every avenue they feel can help them achieve their target in life.

Not only Bitcoins, be it any type of investment, never share it with anyone other than some close family members like mother or spouse, whom you trust the most. Shame on that relative that he tried to do all this for just some few amount of money. Moreover it’s always wise to keep your crypto investments private, as in many countries Bitcoins are not regulated, so if by chance someone complains against you, then some government can press charges on you claiming that these Bitcoin holdings are illegal holdings and you are not paying taxes for it. So enjoy the profits and investments yourself only, and never share it with anyone.
If the money you've used for the investment is completely yours and has no share of anyone else then you don't necessarily need to share it with anyone at all, not even your mother or spouse because it's your money and your investment and whatever happens with it is yours, if you make profits from it, you can buy your closed ones some gifts and enjoy the profits or simply reinvest the profits, and if you lose money, just keep it to yourself instead of letting everyone know.

It's always wise to keep your financial activities private, if possible, even keep them out of the eyes of your own family, they should have nothing to do with all that as long as you are providing for them and they shouldn't care for financial matters unless you involve them in something yourself and give them some responsibility, etc.

Those who continuously receive help from other people will find it very difficult for them to be able to live independently, because they never think about how to develop their own potential. If this continues, this will be a bad thing. For them, when that person is no longer able to help them, of course they must be able to develop their own potential and not have too much hope for other people.

When we make an investment, we have to guard it ourselves and never tell other people about what we are doing because this will cause problems for us in the future. It would be better for us to keep the investment we make confidential ourselves and not tell anyone. except our own wives or children.

Creating your own potential is a good idea because we cannot ask a small question every time from others and I think that these days people are not sharing even their knowledge with others because they don't want that other person become more successful than us.

Sharing your every personal issues with others is a matter of risk because everyone has their own personal life which should not be share with others. I know from wife and children one cannot hide his success and loss because they are only supporter who helps on every step. Investment and other profits are to be keep as a secret because if once those individuals hear about it who are not loyal with you will make your life sorrowful.

Money should always be kept a secret, if the money is revealed, they become their own enemies and they want to take that money by any means, because they cannot handle greed. In that place the person is holding a lot of money invested in bitcoins and has disclosed it to everyone. This is a completely stupid thing to do. Because no one can handle greed when they see a lot of money. So it is always better to keep one's holdings or financial assets secret at all times. This will keep you and your assets safe at all times.

The best answer to the question, "How many BTC do you have?" is, "Not enough."

Keep stacking friends.

Never reveal how much BTC you have just keep your mouth shut and don't know.

It's common for people like that to be pretentious and just want to know about BTC holdings, so choose friends who don't ask that question because it will always be sensitive and even I avoid it.
It doesn't make sense if we have the habit of telling people how any Bitcoin holdings we have which can be used against us if we are not careful enough or keep our secret phrase in a way that no body will know how many Bitcoin or altcoin holdings we have. Even though we intend to tell people about the mount we are holding for Bitcoin, it is good when disclose that to family members or someone that we trust rather than telling the world about what we are holding. A safe practice is good to endure safety of our holdings.
I just think it's just a careless person doing that because he doesn't think about the privacy of his ownership, if it's to the closest family, especially his wife then it's very reasonable but if he tells friends or anyone other than family then he has shown publicly about the assets he has, this is likely to cause a little problem.

If to friends just teach them how to understand bitcoin so that they understand and don't ask again.
I don't know why you guys keep worrying about friends of people you know asking you how many bitcoins you owner: I think it's easier that the same person that owns several bitcoins will tell his friends just to brag about it. I own a little cryptocurrencies, I know other people who do as well, we never asked each other what we own.

Bragging is really something we should avoid, but I find people are too stressed about revealing their bitcoin holdings to loved ones. This makes me ask the question, how much bitcoin do they own that makes them wary and always suspicious of their loved ones? 100BTC or 1000BTC? I really want to know how much bitcoin they own for people who are willing to not trust anyone just because of bitcoin. Bitcoin is just money, do we need to take things more seriously?

That's their own preferences, we all have our own experiences and home environments even our loved ones, they don't even wanna reveal their Bitcoin holdings no matter how much they have. Imagine that you just tell them that you are involved in a cryptocurrency which they lack knowledge but automatically they would expect you that you are making money, from that they could either ask you for money or even worse try to steal it since there's already a lot of cases that even blood-related could do such illegal things for their own sake convenience. Remember that this world runs on money, a lot of crimes that have existed involve money, cause no matter how much you have even just a small amount of BTC, its still yours, so it is up to you to decide which you can trust and keep it secret.

This made me recalled my whereabouts along my hood where I heard some guys arguing about criminal activities though I don't see them like one neither did they claimed to be one of the pertakers in the criminal activities.
I could pick a like where one of them said that smart kidnappers now doesn't request ransoms on Fiat currencies anymore instead they requests payments on Bitcoin so that they would be untraceable and quit easy for the cash outs.
I think they are not really enlightened about crytop because they started to talking about the bitcoins wallets verifications of personal documents and facial verifications could lead to getting caught on the process while some could say... So, I heard there are some crytop wallets that are not required verifications before active to be used.

Bitcoin in a corruptive local societies felt to either be a means to scamming or an investment platform specifically for rich people so whenever who doesn't know about Bitcoin generally crypto investments hears one is into Bitcoin, they basically see you as a rich one.
Naturally they don't care to know what your net worth could be but all they knows is that you have enough that they can extort from you and by the nature of insecurities in the hoods they start thinking criminal acts towards you.

My observations as causes of a Bitcoiner publicly exposing itself sometimes is act of prides as they want to take a prestige and influence the people that they are into an international trading otherwise earning in dollars or foreign currency.

Never disclose your financial situation that you are in with anyone. Could be your family, friends or loved ones. And sharing it to complete stranger is never in the question. Doesn't matter if you are in a poor situation or you are doing great financially, disclosing that matter only creates conflicts. When you have more, people will expect more from you. When you have less, people will look down on you. Whether it is related to crypto/Bitcoin or any kind of asset, do not share that information with others.

I have faced this multiple times in the past and I have learned my lesson. When I had more, I was helping everyone around me. So they were expecting that I would help them in any bad situations. But when I, myself was in a bad situation, no one came to my aid. Instead, they are hoping to get something from me. And when I was unable to provide it, I was the bad person. Now everything I own and don't own, no one knows about those details. If I die, that information will go with me to the grave. Protect your privacy and be safe.

I own a little cryptocurrencies, I know other people who do as well, we never asked each other what we own.
Therefore, not all close friends have bitcoin, they only know bitcoin is expensive because they see it from the news while what I am worried about is that they are trying to do something that can threaten me so I want to avoid it.
We also have some friends who are already involved in bitcoin each other have bitcoin but never mention the amount we only discuss bitcoin trends.

About the information on one's Bitcoin, it's better to keep it a secret, who knows the intention of anyone? What we are hearing daily on how people are being hacked and robbed of their Bitcoins should be a lesson for us all and no matter how you are close with someone, it's better that they do not know much about your Bitcoin standing.

This is no joke, especially when we are drunk, that's the best time to extra information from us, and we know Bitcoin, once they get to know we have it, they can make us transfer it to them either willingly or by force. Although I've not heard of any case where they rob the person of their Bitcoin and still kill them, still, this is certainly not impossible. So, if you do not even care about the money they would steal from you, you have to care about your life as some people might go that extra mile to conceal their evil act.
Now that I want to keep it a secret to anyone, someone's intentions may never know even if someone is very quiet once acting they can threaten us, so close the secret of ownership never reveal anything.

I've heard of a case that might be an example:
Someone has gold and he always talks to his friends (can be said to show off / arrogant) because he already has a lot of gold and stored at home, what do you know the person who stole and threatened him was his closest person, because he felt jealous so he was determined to steal the gold when he was alone at home.

That might just be a lesson.

The quantity if going to depend on location, but also on the kinds of people who you might know - if they are poor, desperate or unlawful or if your friends hang around with people who are poor, desperate and/of low respect for the property and/or lives of others.

Between 1 and 10 bitcoin might seem to be a lot of money.  And people get killed over cell phone robberies, too... so the item might not need to be super valuable, but bitcoin is super portable and pretty easy to liquidate, but if they rob you they might need to attempt some kinds of mixing, joining and/or moving coins around in the event that they might go to an exchange with the coins.

I really want to know how much bitcoin they own for people who are willing to not trust anyone just because of bitcoin. Bitcoin is just money, do we need to take things more seriously?

It seems that we talked about this idea previously..  Sure, bitcoin has monetary properties, but it has some unique attributes too... and maybe if someone is just trying to cash out right away, then the bitcoin becomes dollars, but the person holding the bitcoin prior to getting robbed might not have been considering cashing out in the near term, but  instead might have had been considering bitcoin as a kind of insurance for his/her future self.  Bitcoin has pretty great potential to transfer present value into the future, and if you hold onto cash, you might not feel as confident to put $10k under your mattress as compared with $10k into bitcoin and then retrieve it after 5-10 years and see what it is worth.

For everyone to be safe, just keep privately whatever asset or achievement you have.  You don't need to let the world know what's happening to you or how far your achievements have gone. That will only trigger some negative feeling towards other people or even your relatives once they have discovered that you're richer than them or you're keeping wealth that they don't expect. Bitcoin has a very expensive value, so never tell or disclose to others that you have or more hodlings as your investment.

However, despite of the reminders often that its not safe to expose yourself that you are a bitcoin hodler, but still a lot of investors think differently.  I don't know what's their reason of disclosing but surely, it will create a sort of envy to those who don't want to celebrate with your achievements in life.

It is said " The kingdom has no credibility. So I am cautiously poor."  Same is the matter about  sharing your bitcoin holdings with everyone. It is possible that your some friends are not happy to see you wealthy and they feel jealous about hapiness and development. Dear! This world does not forgive you in any situation. It is not happy to see you in any situation. These worldly people are looking for opportunity. To take everything away from you. Although there are good person also those are your well wisher. But after all of this, it is better not to show your wealth ,your position or bitcoin holding to others.

Do you really tell anyone about your money, how much money you have and how much you earn? So this is not about boasting, but about your safety, because if no one knows that you have a lot of money, no one will want to steal it from you. And it’s not even a matter of quantity, but the ability not to tell everyone about it. Stories about how dead crypto bloggers are found or how they are robbed are not isolated, so remember that money loves silence.

Of course, it is not necessary to tell people about our Bitcoin asset. We invest for our future, it is not for other people future. So, just keep it secretly for the security reasons. I'm sure people won't ask how much our Bitcoin if we don't tell them about our Bitcoin asset. So, the key is how we control ourselves to make it secretly. We don't need to choose certain friends who rarely ask about our life. I believe they won't ask about our asset if we don't tell them anything related to the investment.

people are getting crazier nowadays, even the people closest to us can become someone who is unsafe for us just because of the wealth we have. that's why, as many members in this thread have said, it's important to protect the assets we have and not brag too much about what we have now because we don't know who is after our assets and who is jealous of our wealth. and just being quiet with our assets is the best choice and makes life worry-free.
Everyone has the potential to do criminal acts when it comes to money. Whether they are close people or new people in our life, both have the same chance to do criminal acts. It is because we don't know their own nature and their current condition. Not only about the bad nature, the economic pressure sometimes can trigger someone to do criminal acts. That's why we always need to keep secretly the information about our Bitcoin asset.

As a financial advisor and someone who takes security very seriously, I highly recommend telling NO ONE how much bitcoin you have or money or what your yearly salary is etc.  It's no ones business except for if you have a spouse.  Other than that, friends and family don't need to know.  Never brag about your money either.  It's important to stay private in this area.

I see all these stupid social media clips where people with a camera and mic walk up to people and just straight out ask "how much is you rent" or "how much money do you make per year".. your answer should always be.."thanks but that's information I don't share, have a good day".
I highly agree, our salary, the amount of Bitcoin we have invested, and also our own money are not intended for anyone to know. This kind of information is confidential, we should take it seriously. I know people who like to brag about their money to other people just to earn attention. This is an incorrect behavior and not everyone should do this for our own security.
