Easier said than done, for most people.  Roll Eyes Some of the investors started their investment at the ATH of over $19000 and they have seen a 60%+ drop in the value of their investment, in less than a year. Fortunately I am not one of them, but I have friends who invested, when it was at the ATH and they are quickly losing confidence that they will ever see a ROI or a profit.  Embarrassed

Exactly, there are investors who can't really stomach what had happen to the market because they thought that the price could go up to $30K or even more. So they FOMO, but the market suddenly make a U-turn so you can't blame them for losing faith in the market right now.

I feel sorry for the people who invested with loans and debt, because they are feeling the full force of this correction now and they have to pay interest on those loans/credit.  Sad

Its just really sad part, again, nobody knew that this was coming. Perhaps those investors are really suffering because they have to pay up their credit cards. Hope though that they are still holding, otherwise its a double whammy for majority of them.

Correct, it is gard for those people who invested at the ATH but they have to
try and have a long term outlook.

For others who didnt buy in at the ATH and want a quick (months) turnaround
i suspect they are loosing confidence also but they are not looking long term

Honestly, I came to crypto currency it's about one year ago, yeah that right crypto currency is a way to get money. However, after I read and continued to learn how crypto currency works and the function of crypto currency I only saw that crypto currency is a payment system in the future. Even though many countries have banned the use of crypto currency now, I just think it's only temporary, sooner or later they (the government) will need crypto currency. So for me, when prices plummeted as we did this year it won't make me go away from this technology, I put tokens and coins for long term hold and say never worries about a continuous price decline.

None of the merchants I currently deal in Bitcoin with have told me they don't accept anymore.  I use 4 monthly services and they all take Bitcoin or Ethereum.  Everything is fine on our end.  Not everyone is freaking out about the price.  Some people are actually using Bitcoin vs trading it for Alts.

Bullshit, no one is using shitcoin.
Yes this is an obvious question which can really be answered easily. Well we all know that despite the difficulties and troubles bitcoin has stood its way. It's really obvious that people are still here and that's enough to prove that people are still trusting it. I can certainly say that people still have its confidence on the system.

I can certainly say that people still do have a confidence in this system because they choose to stay in here. Humans in bitcoin are the evidences of its greatness. Definitely bitcoin is still alive because of its users. Well basically we can see that people still have a confidence towards this and it's clearly obvious.

Many people only interested in the profit, but they never really learn about Bitcoin they only think Bitcoin as the money machine, so when the price for corrected they become frustrated and spread a bad rumours about Bitcoin, but for the early adopter, they already taste the Bitcoin profit and witnessed how Bitcoin price jump super high, so I still got a big confidence that Bitcoin will survive and become bigger in the future

Why are many disturbed about the  drop in the price of bitcoin  Cool. Come on guys, this is the not the time to give up on this amazing digital currency. Although this year has been a very volatile year for bitcoin, but one thing has always remained whenever this amazing digital cryptocurrency goes down, it bounces back much stronger than it was before. This is hope that keeps most crypto enthusiasts like myself who are resilient and have compelled us to develop a strong faith in this amazing cryptocurrency called bitcoin. Please this is not the time to give up on this amazing coin.  Roll Eyes

Cryptocurrency has been here before all of us,the price dropping happening for how many years now and the same as the price grows, but why when the value is cutting this stupid reactions happen but when price growth people just enjoy and dont have something to say.so i assume that were onky greed for not to be thankful for what was crypto given to us.true investors will always have confidence and trust to bitcoin for now and forever

Yes and No. Yes in the sense that one hopes the market will start recovering somehow and no because there does not seem to be any reason why Bitcoin will recover again and speaking in terms of a good BTC price of at least 10k seems unreasonable given how much the climb would be.

i and the majority have not lost confidence in the market
2016: >300
2017: >900
2018: >5,800
proves market confidence so far
right now the community is not at a loss of confidence. or a growth of fear.. the community is at a 'no innovative, excitement happening' period (nothing to hype)

where the fear is/reduced confidence will be, is in the utility of bitcoin dropping

this can affect things as a snowball effect in the future, which can effect the speculative volatility of the market price. if bitcoin has no utility, then even with scarcity. people wont want it. and so there wont be as much push. in the end the only market movers will be the miners, which if they decide to move a few rigs over to other coins. hashrates wont rise and the remaining miners can get more rewards regularly, thus reducing their costs and increasing their rewards meaning they can sell for less.

so its important that bitcoin NETWORK (not side services/networks, not drama, not emotion) but bitcoins blockchain re-innovates otherwise the hype of bitcoin being "the greatest" dies. which then snowballs.
Exactly. Why do so many people tend to forget that the king of the cryptocurrency market has grown in a big way over time? I am confident that it will most likely continue to grow over time due to various factors like the integration of the lightning network etc.

In my eyes, the only cryptocurrency that I strongly believe in is Bitcoin and I feel that every altcoin including Ethereum could disappear at any point of time in the future. Bitcoin might be the lone survivor in the long run.

yes, maybe now many are disappointed by seeing the current market situation, but in my opinion this is still normal when compared to the beginning of the emergence of bitcoin, so keep calm don't panic because bitcoin will go back up and back to its highest price.

Personally-yes i have confidence in the bitcoin project in the long term, shure it has some problems, and the speculators don't help but taking a long term vie i think it will survive and flourish.

We still believe and confident in bitcoin. You might think people don't have confident in bitcoin because the price fall or you heard lots of negative news about it. Yet, it is not a bases to determine that people dont have confident because bitcoin is not end and it will eventually recover and rise again.

I think many people still have confidence in bitcoin because many people are still on bitcoin, buying and holding because they know that it will rise up again and again like the previous years. They are patient and confident in bitcoin. But of course there are people who lose confidence in bitcoin because they are not patient  have a lack of trust for bitcoin to rise up.

What is the future of Bitcoin? Will it become a mainstream currency, or will its popularity wane, and why?

Maybe you should listen to a couple of Billionaires and what they were saying about Bitcoin instead of asking the layman.

In the Lisbon Websummit conference, one of the biggest Silicon Valley icon,

Tim Draper who made over $1 billion by getting early on Twitter, Skype, Tesla had this to say:

he told Forbes:

"In five years, if you try to use fiat currency, they will laugh at you. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will be so relevant... there will be no reason to have the fiat currencies."

Hedge fund legend Mike Novogratz on the other hand predicted last month that Bitcoin will hit $10,000 in the next few months time.

And he’s not just saying it, he’s putting his money where his mouth is with a $500 million crypto-fund.

Recently, after the short $1000 dip from the Segwit2x cancellation, he was also rumored to have bought $15–20 million worth of Bitcoin. (probably less than 1% of his portfolio)

John McAfee - creator of the antivirus software predicts that Bitcoin will hit $500,000 within three years.

Mark Cuban changed his long term skepticism and invested in a Bitcoin ETN. But he said you got to pretend like you’ve lost your money like collecting art or baseball card.

Bill Gates mentioned in 2014 during an interview that Bitcoin is “Better Than Currency

Richard Branson Thinks Bitcoin is Working and is an investor in Bitpay a Bitcoin payment processing platform

Of course, there’s no guarantees these guys will be right, but they’re the 1% and we’re the 99%. So who would you listen to?

Warren Buffett is probably one of the famous Billionaires who says Bitcoin is “The Real Bubble”

For me , I haven’t heard of these types of bullish forecasts since the early days of the internet and tech bubble. Or you might have read the famous comparison to the Tulip mania.

But how can you still compare Tulip Bulbs to cryptos? Personally it doesn’t make sense.

To understand why Bitcoin is a revolution and a brand new asset class that is completely different from stocks, bonds and other traditional currencies you’ve got to http://thinkmaverick.com/what-is-bitcoin-cryptocurrency/
Thanks for sharing this about what people think about bitcoin. Bitcoin is still a working process. As days go by there are new advancement in the crypto world. Bitcoin has a lot to give and show in some years to come....

People believe in Bitcoin and the other crypto currency as a result of which they talks about it.

In a trading-based trade, the price will go up and down that is something that is certain and we cannot tolerate, where fluctuating prices will increase the level of volume that will occur. In the case of bitcoin now why bitcoin continues to weaken, this is also likely to have a rejected issue in the ETF session yesterday and supported by technical factors, where prices are still in the demand area between the price range of $ 6000- $ 6300. when this price can break, it is likely that bitcoin will go back down to the price of $ 3000, but actually, if you see it directly bitcoin is still said to rise from the price of the previous year, so it can't be said that the price dropped dramatically if we can see it from the previous year Smiley
