Hello everyone!

Do the casinos where we can play with cryptocurrencies are all based on blockchain, so we can control every deal, or crypto is there only as a form of payment?
No, it's only called crypto casino or bitcoin casino because they are accepting crypto as a mode of payment.
Though there are some gambling sites that utilizes the blockchain for gambling but the non blockchain gambling games are still more popular.
For example, sports betting, they are not based on blockchain but since sports book accept crypto, we called their crypto casinos or sports book.

Actually there are some sportbook as well that based on blockchain but it has been a long time ago and yet nowadays more sites are secure their own fund by themselves to store it on their cold wallet as well so if there is something happened on the blockchain, they might not lose it as well. So actually blockchain and crypto is just a same thing though, because everything is basef on the blockchain, only the support system is different
How would it be different with the current set up?
You are talking about an sportbook that is based on blockchain and there's one existing in the past. please can you tell me what site was that?

Seems like you caught my interest.

Most casinos where you can play with cryptocurrencies are not based on blockchain technology because it has yet not been adopted to casinos. If you have used bitcoin casinos before you probably noticed their slots and games are from other providers that are not even related at all with cryptocurrencies so it's impossible to be based on blockchain.
They are called bitcoin casinos because that is the main currency used on their platform and because most of them allow you to play anonymously without needing to complete a KYC.
You could try Stake, a casino that is probably fair and runs on Blockchain, meaning you will be able to verify every single bet made by everyone in their games.

..as far as I know,,there are some casinos that are base on blockchain and you can check this whenever you want to ensure that it is probably fair,,but most of them uses crypto as mode of payment.
..for me,,it is better to play casino that is base on a blockchain technology because it solves the five most major problem that gamblers encountered. these are the lack of transparency and trust, the possibility of fraud, Long-awaited payments and additional fees, No rewards for customers and Anonymity.

Hello everyone!

There are some casinos based in blockchain, those are better known as onchain casinos, they work directly on the blockchain and one example of them is Luckb.it...

The other kind of casinos (offchain) use cryptos just for deposits and withdrawals, but blockchain doesn't affect the bet result.

Bitcoin casinos are the same as fiat casinos. They are centralized and your wagers happen off-chain. There are a few blockchain based casinos on EOS and Tron where all your wagers are verified on the blockchain.
I believe this is the best explanation for op questions. There is no much different between blockchain casino and fiat casino and you can actually decided to used any and that depends on your favourite.  I prefer blockchain casino because of how transparent the whole thing are.

That was a good question but the answer can very depending in which casino you are using.
Some use blockchain and you can even use it to verify your bets but most all of them are not, very similar to real life casinos.
For me the most important thing is to use a casino which offers you Fairness so you can verify all your bets one by one in order to make sure you are not being scammed.
When a casino has a real Provably Fair they should offer you that option

Pretty nice answer mate OP want to make sure the fairness of crypto casino gambling, and that's is true some site are scams so can't blame op to avoid a doubt from the crypto site, but there's a lot of fair and honest crypto casino site.
That is a good point but for me, I think Bitcoin casinos are not yet based on blockchain technology. Bitcoin casinos are there to appear as an online casino where you will be able to bet your bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies online. It's just that compared to fiat casinos, Online Casino has a fair algorithm that will determine if you will win or no. Most of the online casinos and bitcoin casinos use an algorithm where that will let them gain profits to continue operating.

As far as I know, the scaling ration of win rates in every casino is 1 win = 5 loses so they can have a profit and sustain the business. Blockchain technology is not yet applied to Bitcoin Casinos but the pros are that you can use your cryptocurrency to bet with anonymity.

I think OP is doubting the fairness of casinos not using block chain platforms. Of course it can be compared. Block chain casino platforms are fair enough, you have your hash to check outcomes.
We can't blame the OP for doubting the fairness of casino, as we know there are casino games that you think it's fair but will result in exit scam where the owner can't be contact anymore. I think that's the reason why the op started this thread to ask if the op is cheated or not by the games.

I think what you are asking is if all the Crypto casinos are based on cryptography which is used to determine your roll result to prove you are not being cheated correct?

In a regular casino you go to the table and whatever result comes out of the Roulette wheel you just need to trust it wasn't manipulated. No way to check 100% you weren't cheated. Just need to rely on casino regulations.

With bitcoin online casinos, and games like dice its very easy to prove you are not being cheated because of the provably fair method.

You are given a hashed seed before you start your rolls and your rolls afterwards will all use the same unhashed seed to determine the roll result. After you are done betting, you are given the unhashed seed and can prove you weren't cheated.

Hopefully this is what you are asking for.

not all bitcoin online casinos are running their own blockchain. most of them are just for payment method.
and yes, if the site is running legit, you can always check their provably fair method by checking your hashed seed
so theres no need to use the blockchain tech in proving their fairness.

There are really only two "blockchain" based type of casinos in bitcoin, unfortunately many games can not be really provably fair or based on blockchain because the system of the game doesn't allow it. For example, a poker game can't be based on any blockchain I am aware of, hence you can play poker with bitcoin but do not expect it to be based on blockchain.

Nonetheless, games like dice can be based on blockchain in one of those ways, either it could be provably fair where you check the seed and prove that indeed the bet was correct and casino didn't screw you over with fake results or it could be based on blockchain just like eosbet for example which means it will be purely on blockchain anyway without any central controlling organization. Both are fine for gambling since both are fairly legit.

Please don't try to speculate other reasons why they are asking regarding fairness of casino's accepting crypto's . "Exit scam" is not something that he is asking and exit scam is a whole different term in comparison to unfairness of a casino (though it falls into same page if we see the outcome) but still it is not something that OP is asking.

Thank you for your answer.

So what mean that some gambling site is "provably fair", is it possible to check that somehow, if is not based on blockchain?
You can check provable fairness of a wager if you know a little bit about mathematics and cryptography. The casino will give you some part of a formula ahead of time and will even allow you to modify part of it and after your roll is completed they will show you the final part of the formula which you can use to calculate if the number you rolled matches the result of the formula.
This is news to me. Did not know this stuff before which is why I appreciate this clear and concise explanation.

I know that a few blockchain based casinos have been developed based on my research, but off-chain seems to be the better route here.

I don't find it new. In fact it have been there for quite sometime now. In usual, casino will show you the hashed server seed ahead of the roll and you will have the control over the client seed (which you can change or randomize as you wish). Hashed server seed is so that to prove that they don't change the server seed to rig the outcome into their favour. Both client seed and server seed is then used to determine the result.

Some are, but as you guessed,,, most casinos that claim themselves to be Bitcoin casinos actually only use Bitcoin or crypto as a form of payment or betting currency.

Some good ones do also implement on-chain functions whereby even your bets are determined by blockchain, blocks being found and things like that. Others also use crypto inspiration with hashing to make the games provably fair.

One big clue about Bitcoin casinos worth trying is: no fiat options, no kyc,,, and dice;)

When we do talk about cryptocurrency then its always tied up with Blockchain technology.About controlling every deal then it would matter on servers/providers side.
If you are on doubt you can actually verified bets yet there are sites that do show up transparency about provable fair.

Does this mean the fairness of crypto casinos are of the same as the traditional ones? Where in there are doubts about it being manipulated by the house?

The fact that there are online casinos like that is also the cost of why many in the forum are very doubtful about certain people posting their sites in here, Mostly newbie's or people with negative trust (Well not all the time) But I guess there are trustworthy one and sometimes you would never even notice that having doubt with someone sometimes is wrong, But I think cautiousness is really needed and I think it is the top priority most gamblers must have because most of us here will surely have a second thought when we are talking about risking our money, But well if you are searching for gambling site that is trustworthy and fair stakes is the one I can think off,

Well, I never have seen sites that are based on blockchain and I guess if there are one you should look for gambling site that is base on ICO and are using their own coin so you can play from it.
