It all depends on you if how you will manage your trades and how you can earn from it. As most strategies diversifying has also good benefits, to less the risks when you invest.
I believe it merits keeping a normal of 3-4 coins, however you have to put resources into them to make a benefit in months 5-6 with long haul speculation.
To be able to get maximum profit and stable, I think we need to diversify the coins we have. With only one coin, the profit we will get will be less than the maximum. Diversification of investment is good but for me if we talk about cryptocurrency alone then i would put all my money with one coin alone and that is bitcoin. If the price of bitcoin moves the rest would follow thus why not put it all in just one.

I remember when the first time i'm in crypto back in november last year, i started with $300 to invest and was about to put all of my capital on powr but then i decided to invest in another altcoins to reduce the risk and my choices goes to btx, nano (formerly xrb), tron and sumokoin. Powr and btx price was decreased sharply but fortunately nano, sumokoin and tron mooned in late december - early january and turned my $300 into thousand dollars. I would have lost all of my capital if i put all of them on powr that time.
