I believe that we just borrow our lives from God. And He is the only one who have right to take them away from us.

I’m against the death penalty not because of sympathy for criminals, but because it doesn't reduce crime, costs taxpayers much more than life sentences, is more emotionally draining for the families of victims than life in prison without parole. and, worst of all, risks executions of innocent people.

You do have a point but I believe that the court especially if the case is subject for death penalty they will carefully analyze each details for them not to execute an innocent people.  Plus the fact that the criminal will just direand end the burden that he will face incase he regret what he did.  He will no longer feel sad or worried or feel guilty because he already died.  I guess it is better to atleast jailed them for like many years before executing.  So that means I am still for death penalty.

In what - that you are right a degree. But it does not touch those people that disbelieve in God. Although many of them, in extreme moments often remember his name. As they say for us: God gave, God had taken away.

The death sentences cost much more than life imprisonments, because the criminals are allowed to appeal an infinite number of times. Also, the death sentences are delayed by 20 or even 30 years in most cases.

I do not agree with the death penalty. No one has the right to deprive a person of life. Even if this person is very bad. There are many laws in which it is said that human life is the highest value. That is why one person has no right to take the life of another person

The right to life is not given by any government, it is bestowed by essence of being a human being, and should not be removed by a government.

I think it is deserved for certain crimes, but it's probably too troublesome to enforce without any slip ups. there would have to be the most overwhelmingly convincing evidence, that could not possibly have been fabricated, in order to prove sufficiently that a person has performed a crime that warrants a death penalty, at least in my opinion. this is because there are definitely examples of cases where people have been falsely sentenced to death.

Absolutely not. It's been shown numerous times that the justice system is too unreliable for such an absolute punishment. I also don't believe in a punitive justice system (ALL data shows that punishment doesn't = deterrent).

I believe in rehabilitation and fixing the underlying problems that cause criminality (shitty minimum wage, treating addicts as criminals etc) with a view of less people being affected by crime, NOT feeling better by punishing people who have transgressed against society (as tempting as that revenge is - it doesn't stop crime).

Nope. It isn't cost effective, and I think it's more of a punishment to keep someone locked in a tiny, shitty cell for the rest of their shitty lives.

I used to until I saw a speaker who was on death row until he was exonerated by DNA evidence. Not that I don't think some people deserve to die, it's just that the criminal justice system is too flawed to justify the death penalty. Killing wrongly accused is much worse than letting the guilty go free. Furthermore the death penalty doesn't work as a deterrent since the people committing crimes eligible already do not fear death. Also also keeping criminals alive serves as a greater reminder/deterrent to future offenders. Also also also I think retribution as a function of the justice system is just petty and does not improve society.

Why you need to believe that our lives  are from god that we barrowed it leople are killing each other and they easily kill people like chickens and animals well death penalty should be implemented and kill those inhuman people who comit crimes without mercy

You are right but that is incomplete reason in regards to your question. Death penalty is biblical if you believe in the bible. God does agree with death penalty. In Exo 21:23-25. You will see there, you have to take life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth and so on and so forth. But if you take life of someone for no reason then you will be responsible to God of you take revenge over someone that is also unlawful. Crime penalty must be handle and be taken care of by those in authority and not by the offended himself.

That is what bible and how people understand it. This days, I don't think that it is acceptable reason, books and rules written at that time is all about living at those years, where war between each clan, maybe bible is written based on that.

To me, death penalty is just fine, as long as there is enough evidence against a criminal.

I really don't know why there such thing as death penalty . To think that killing and taking lives of a person is also a crime .

So what do you suggest? If someone commits a brutal crime such as rape of murder, should he be set free in to the society? Death penalty is necessary to curb the crime rate. Without the death penalty, the criminals will be having no fear about the punishment.

I strongly agree with the death penalty, but if a suspect commits a serious crime, the death penalty should be given to those who commit premeditated murder.


I also agree with death penalty as people now are no longer afraid to kill and do wrong doings with other people.  For sure that there are levels of criminality or act that the punishment of death will be imposed.  And due process will be practiced.  Death penalty is timely and should be again legalized as a punishment for those who commit a crime.  Innocent people and are living in decency that were oppressed or killed should have its justice.

And I agree with the death penalty. I think that this will reduce the level of crime. After all, criminals are simply afraid to commit crimes if they understand that they can be killed for this
