Trading is exactly same as gambling, because either of them cannot guarantee profit and neither of them can even be totally win by skill. I think trading itself is gambling because many people are addicted to trading indeed lol they loose money in trading yet they do it.

Depends on what you trade. If you trade BTC yeah I can say that is gambling. You cant predict the price.

Yeah. Pretty much. It's not totally random like certain types of gambling, apart from most alts, but you could compare it to sports. If you do a little research your guesses might turn out better.

absolutely not.

i mean you can bet on the price to see if it goes up or down, there is even some games about it, but that doesn't make it gambling. it is just guesswork.

you should never trade on guess and only pick by chance and trust your luck you have to do some work for it.

Trading is a combination of luck and skill, while gambling is purely based on skill, though I would consider trading compared to sports betting, because there also both are involved, luck and skill and you cant win with one alone.

Hey people,

I've always been a huge gambler. I like creating useless schemes (as we all know bank always win ^^) and betting whole nights long in order to find THE right way of betting.
But I need change, I can't bet over and over on the same game cause after I see that nothing can be done to change the odds, I'm bored.

So I thought a bit about trading and I started not so long ago. and it feels a bit like a betting game without knowing the odds and with an infinity of parameters!

Does anyone else takes trading as a gambling game? Smiley

I don't think that trading is like 100% gambling. There are so many things which affects the price of the particular stock or commodity, prices increased and decreased because of various factors. Those who understand the trading market can guess the possible trend; whether it will be rise or fall, so for these people trading is not gambling. If someone doesn't know anything about trading and market then it can be consider as gambling.

Well, in a sense I understand what you mean. But predictions can't be 100% sure! So isn't it like gambling except that your knowledge and your experience can balance a bit the odds? Smiley

Hmm..agreed that predictions can not be 100% right. It can go wrong as well but if you can study the market and understand the strenghts and weakness of any particular stock then I believe that you can predict the trend. There are some experts who knows the market very well ,  it does happen sometimes that these people also misjudge the trend.

Yes, I agree with this line of reasoning.  I would add that skillful traders also have the ability to "control" the direction of the markets.  They can "pump" and "dump," they can throw up buy and sell walls....etc.  So, while it is gambling in a sense, it's more of a game of skill to those who know what they're doing.

No, for simple reason that with trading you don't depend on luck as much as you do with gambling.

For some people that stacking their btc I think they always hope that the price will skyrocketing so trading is almost the same as gambling but the way they earn money is just different from gambling because it is much safer as I can say but to earn some profit you also gambling with the numbers though

In my opinion, you should not trade this time. This time not suitable for trading as the review about bitcoin is not so good. You should try again on gambling because it seems to be you are a good player of gambling ! Keep it up, you will win. Smiley

Yep, trading resembles gambling a lot: if you hit the MAX button you might lose big, only in gambling you might lose all you have and with trading you lose only part of what you had, you can't lose all at once. So trading is a bit safer IMO, but you should always remember that like in gambling the worst your enemy is a "strategy" which you think is unbeatable.

Trading is the same as poker in regards to gambling.  You can be +ev or -ev, there is a house which takes a cut, with trading its the traing platform.

If you make bad trades you can lose money even faster vs regular casino game gambling.

Trading , investing, gambling etc.. They're all the same for me because you need money to put in then its the sites who deals if you win or lose..

There are totally different.
Gambling is too risky. You can lose all of your money.
Trading is quite safe, if you trade in good assets, there is no risk involved.

Well the difference is that gambling can make you lose ALL of your money.
With trading is not likely you will lose all of your money. So no, both of them are quite different.

Exactly gambling is risky and not safe while trading can be lucrative without having to deal with this risk.
I know for a fact that trading IS profitable and gambling NOT.

Simply read the stories online and you know what I am talking about.

No, for simple reason that with trading you don't depend on luck as much as you do with gambling.
Investing is the form of gambling (and it is proven that trading or investing can be addiction in the same way gambling could be).
Financial markets can be capricious and unstable to the point you have no idea if odds are against or with you.
The only fact that differentiate gambling and investing is that if you are fast enough you can recover part of your bankroll while investing.
