Many of our friends are selfish and they always try to take out my money from our pocket because they know that we have money and they have nothing and that's why they try to borrow our money. I also faced that kind of situation because if we will talk about monet they will get the information of our money and assets but these assets could be dangerous for us because they will try  to steal or robber from us .But if your friends are businessman, you can do the different thing and you can talk about business and money because he can save you from any disaster in future.
You are right, brother; I also have many opportunistic friends. It would be wrong to call them selfish, but they are no less selfish. They always want to save money in their pockets and feed people; they always try to take money out of our pockets.

They think that we always have huge amounts of money. Where do we think that if we tell the bank to take money, money will come from us? However, for your safety, you must stay away from them and be careful about the money charges. However, there are some good friends with whom, when discussing various things, planning well about what can be done in the future is good. At this time, we talk about money, how we will manage money, and how we will do it.

Discussing business or money will depend on the individual and the environment. If I am around friends who are business minded and could give business advice or even introduce me to an opportunity, I would discuss business with them. But there are some friends who are good in politics or sports and are not business inclined, I wouldn't waste my time discussing business with them.

But I am not comfortable with telling people how much I make from my work or business except it is necessary. We might discuss potential investment areas or highly needed skills, but there will be restrictions because you don't trust people's confidential financial information.
I often see celebrities who are like this when they are being interviewed in public but I think it is because it is in public? And then maybe they are already earning too much but the public can understand it already, as they are a celebrity anyway.

For us normal individuals, I think it is only common to talk about our salaries with the people that we know. It is not huge anyway for us to hide it or maybe some are only shy about it, to the fact that it was only small? In terms of being necessary, I think it was mostly the lending company are the ones that can ask us about it and then we have no choice but to provide the info because we also badly need a money.

Is this something you and your friends are open about, or do you typically stick to safer topics like sports and politics? If you don't discuss money, why not? And if you do, how much are you comfortable sharing?"

Not all of my friends can discuss it with some of my friends who are open-minded and business-minded because the course of our conversation dwells on growing our money, which is a positive discussion.
I avoid discussing this with some of my friends, who always look for friends to ask for loans; I prefer to talk about politics and sports to these kinds of friends instead of money for fear that he will ask for loans, and I don't want to lend to some friends who always forget to pay their loans; it will lead to quarrels between us.

Definitely refrain, people look down on you when they lose and you told them. Everyone from a distance is hoping you lose anyway, trying to beat the market. They'll just tell you it's foolish and your wasting your time. It's also confirmation bias for them that you don't need to share, it gives them a psychological upper hand when you do it again in the future. They'll only doubt your intelligence even more. You'll get into a cycle of having to prove your intelligence again.

We don't discuss our crypto holdings with friends, do you talk about money as an alternative instead? What I mean is like, talk about what you are doing, your side hustles and how much you're making from it. Is this something you and your friends are open about, or do you typically stick to safer topics like sports and politics? If you don't discuss money, why not? I talk about money with friends that often same level with me, and talk random talks with those amazing financially above. It's a rule to living secured and reducing possible hatred from friends and colleagues. You don't get to talk about how much money you make or making with someone that is struggling with life, you could be endangering yourself because they could get jealous that you're doing better than them despite how much efforts they've been putting into making life better. We should be very conscious of the calibre of discussion we get with people especially when it has to do with money always check their financial status before engaging.

Depending on the person, with people I'm not too close to and are just casual friends, I may not want to bring up the subject of money. But with my childhood friends, we still talk and share almost everything with each other, including money. Maybe even jobs and income or a little deeper...and we've been okay with that for years.

I'm surprised to see many people say they don't want to talk about money with friends or family because they're afraid of being asked to borrow money or other problems. This makes me feel like they don't have any real relatives or close friends, and life of always doubting and thinking badly about others is really boring.

I never discuss about money in a public place, especially in the midst of strangers, you don't know who is listening, criminals can be among them that can plan to rob or harm me. But I can discuss money matters with matured minds with whom we can share ideas and experiences about different areas of finance, no man is an island so it's ok to get other people's perspectives on financial matters. I never discuss about money with people who's lifestyles don't show that they can manage money well, so it's not everybody that is worth my discussing about money with.

What I never do is discuss how much I earn with any other person except my wife, I don't also care to know what another person earns, I mind my own business about my income and expect other people to do the same. If some people knows your income they will be disturbing you for financial help and loans, they knows that you earn x amount and should have surplus to give them. Some can plot your downfall out of envy that you're better off financially than them, so it's good to leave others to be guessing what you earn instead of telling them

Everyone are same.

The current your open-minded and business-minded friends are not in financial difficulty, hence they never ask for loans and focus to discuss about new opportunity. But, once their business went bankrupt and they're in debt, trust me, they will look for you, and they will force you to give them money.

The closer your relationship, the closer they will ask for help or threating you.

Why won't I discuss what I do with friends? I mean, I'm not a secret agent operative where it's illegal to talk about what I do. I don't have to talk about the details but I tell them about my work. They can ask questions about how it works and I'll explain it to them. The same thing when I ask about their work.
I don't have a lot of friends, so the few I have I try to b open with them about what I do. It doesn't mean I have to be too trusting and tell them how much I have in my account or address, or talk to them about how much my income is, but we talk about our work and how we make money. If the topics comes up, we talk about how we make money and if the opportunity arises I link up with them on doing business together.
They're my friends for a reason so if I can't discuss money with them then what's the point of the friendship?
I remember how a friend of mine gave me a gig because we were talking about our work. I believe it's cool to talk about your work with your friends. They may not understand the dynamics of the job, but it's good for them to have an idea of what you do.

At least in Italy, we don't like to talk about money with friends. People are just over estimating their earnings, try to appear "more wealthy" even between historical friends.

I have a friend of mine that is enterpreneur with his society.
Each time he speaks only about millions of contract signed... many people working for him etc...
Meanwhile pubblic information of the company show 10% of it (probably less). I know maybe it can be frustrating not realize what he has dreamed for years so I avoid to point out "the real numbers".

No I don't want to talk with friends about money. People are envious of success... they don't understand how to reach certain level and how much fatigue there is on it.

Personally, I think it is bad manners to ask friends about their ways of earning money, side jobs, investment and other earnings. And even worse is to talk about it. There are plenty of other topics to discuss with friends, and if you discuss finances, then abstract from your (their) income.

It is better not to share financial information (income and ways of earning money), even among friends. What is the point? What will you gain by blabber on such info? Nothing. What will you lose? But here there may be questions, because your friends' friends may have their own friends.

at first there is a saying that, show me ur friend I will tell you whom you are, first as a person you know ur financial status, so discussing about money with friend whom are business oriented is not totally wrong,  expecially to ur friends whom are of higher financial status than you, so many got into wrong business plan as a result of keeping money secret to faithful friends that would have help out, is summary, considering the fact that, money is not the only yardstick of making friends, it is advisable we discuss our money within the comfirnment of our business or workers associates.

I usually dont, because I have seen that financial literacy is very very poor among my workmates and friends in general. They are asking around which stocks to buy, even if I suggest them, they would not listen - but go around buying some mutual funds that some guru suggested them.

Thats why I stopped suggesting stuff to others and only discuss with family who are well versed in investments.

Most people in my country have heard of bitcoin, but are not feeling safe to invest in it. I dont blame them.

I can talk about money in general, but I don't want to know how much money someone has and what they do with it - it also doesn't occur to me to talk about my finances even to my closest friends, because people are very bad at keeping such information. Sometimes people do not have bad intentions when they tell others about their conversations, but they do not take into account the fact that in this way they can put their friends in unpleasant or even dangerous situations.

When it comes to cryptocurrencies, my official position is that I have sold or lost most of them over the years, and this fits perfectly with the position of those around me, considering that the majority thought that it was an internet scam that would fail over time. It's better to look stupid in a crowd than to stand out as a smart target.

I can discuss about cryptocurrency and not a total of my holdings or allocation for security purposes since lot of things are happening now and we can't trust anyone out there. Discussion that ultimately needs me to tell them my total holdings are off from the conversion as I wouldn't like to reveal what I have or how much I earn through cryptocurrency, we can share ideas of coins to invest and not to invest but anything above that is entirely against me.

Buddy I must say that such decisions of yours are wise, discussing cryptocurrency and Bitcoin in particular with friends or close relatives is perfect but it should be to an extent which you have also stated, people may see it as being secretive but this is a very good decision to safeguard yourself and your finance, sometimes we say things feeling that we are relating to people that we confide in not knowing that we are making the greatest mistake of our lives, in everying that involves money in general, once we are having discussion to that effect no matter who is involved, being too open on the amount you have in your portfolio or even bank account as the case may be is a wrong approach, if people know my earnings on their own fine but telling them is no no for me as such i wouldnt even want to entertain any question coming from such angle no matter who's is involved.

I have set my boundaries on who I talk to about personal finance. Most of the people who will refer to as friends are just acquaintances. And even those who qualify to be called friends should not be the first for us to speak to about money.

Should conversations about money come up then it should only scratch the surface with few identifiable details and information. While such friends are not going to cause me any harm, be I am an overthinker such a thought will keep me awake all for a couple of nights.

If anyone wants to talk about money refer them to a financial advisor either paid or free.

When I call someone a friend, this means that I'm very close to them, I call a friend to only a few person, this word is very meaningful for me. I often discuss money with my friends because I have friends who are doing well in different niches and I believe that we shouldn't waste our talent, we have to use the advantage of friendship to start a business together because trust is a serious thing in every business.

By the way, I believe that there are things that should always private and you shouldn't speak with your friends or spouse because, you know, humans aren't 100% loyal and you should always keep that in mind. I don't tell my friends how much Bitcoin I own and I don't talk about how much money I have. If someone asks me, I usually lie about numbers because it's nobody's job. Usually, when bad accidents happen, that's because of a shady friend whom you trusted. You can never be 100% sure about anyone.

We do talk about what we are doing currently like our day job for example but we do not talk about side hustles and whatnot or at least I do not. But that is more of a reflection of myself than my friends and what kind of friends they are. I do trust them, I just am a private person who do not like sharing what I am currently doing especially if it will not yet bear results immediately. I prefer to work quietly and let the results speak for itself, as they say. If I end up making money, I will treat my friends but they do not need to know where that money came from unless they ask me then I can tell them but telling them unprompted? Nope. That is not who I am.

To be safe, you should be careful in your stories about your financial situation. As they say: money loves silence. But whether we want it or not, there will always be very curious people in our circle who want to "stick their nose into someone else's wallet." For such people, there should be a history of earnings that should not surprise them in any way, for their peaceful sleep. But there are friends to whom you can tell everything, borrow money, or, on the contrary, lend money to them without worrying about repayment. With such people, we discuss business and everything related to finances. With strangers, you need to discuss the weather and things that do not need clarification.
