Why and how some sites manage to provide no edge bets... With EV=0, how do they make money ?  Lips sealed

one of my friends made 2.25 BTC just by gambling. he was using just dice. im thinking of using peer bet. do you think i should do it?. i dont have that many btc to loose anyway. do you gamble?

Be ready to use all you gamble for. Gambling is always negative expectation value. (Peerbet raffle is no edge? That would be expectation of 0.)

I won over 100 BTC on SatoshiDice, then I stopped. It was very risky though, I was using a martingale scheme, and I nearly lost 200 BTC on one of the round, though my luck came thru and my last 100 BTC bet was a win.

He was just lucky.

im thinking of using peer bet. do you think i should do it?
No. You should spend your BTC to a good cause instead of inflating the pockets of some rich peoples.

do you gamble?
No, unless I can figure out a miscalculation on side of the bank.

Gambling is about knowing the odds and accepting the risk.
Or just think of it as a math tax. Grin

Does solo mining count as gambling?

Using BTC is enough of a gamble, lol. But seriously, I don't gamble simply because chances are I will lose. That is the essential fact to keep in mind. Why not invest your money in something that has better odds than a likely loss?

i have tried primedice (PD), bitcoinlivebets, peerbet, sealswithclubs (SWC), and satoshicircle. never won anything tho, except for SWC, i won 3 times on the freerolls tourney  Grin

i say PD and SWC is the best atm, based on my experience
but remember, this is gambling, loosing to the house is a natural thing  Tongue

Yes, you can gamble using Dice.  Always fun, but as someone said, all of those sites will eventually get your money in the long run.  You either have to be lucky, or make some quick money and run.

I prefer gambling in Sports betting.  Yes, the house still takes an edge, but I find there is better opportunity to make more calculated decisions and win money.

It creates bad habits. Gambling faucets satoshis is ok, but once you start funding your account with real hard cash, think twice and be responsible.

I'm not really a gambler and that's no different when it comes to bitcoins. I have spent some coin at a couple sites because I was curious to see how they worked though.

Same here, I've only tested Just-dice once.

When I have a voucher somewhere, or where the withdrawal limit is high on a faucet and I don't want to climb up to the withdrawal limit, I go for the maximum variance strategy : a bet with a very low winning odd. Always better that keeping a low balance!

Apart from this case, that's all Cheesy

Sometimes i do, especially when I wanna donate to some favourite sites i try to make the most out of what i want to donate. If i fail i stick to the initial amount but if not it makes me look more generous Wink
