It is all a matter of perception. As long as we do not do anything bad or affect our family, friends and neighborhood negatively, we should not be shameful for being a gambler. What is shameful is what happen in one of the Casino in the Philippines where a gambling addict goes berserk and killing 37 people because he was banned in every casino and has millions of debt in the bank.

It’s depend on a person or family because if a person is gambling for first time so he may feel shameful but it is also a source of income for some families. When someone doesn’t have a good job and behind him there is his family so gambling is the source on which he can earn money.

Well if you're earning, i don't think there's anything to be ashamed of. I wouldn't mind what other people would think if i'm consistently earning and making a living off gambling. What's shameful here is when i'm already gambling beyond my means and even resort to borrowing money. That's a very bad image you'rr setting up for yourself if you're like that

It is okay to gamble as long as we are fine with it. Some people are too sensitive with this and they dont want to feel ashamed because they gamble. in fact we can only feel shame when we are planing gambling in a wrong way. if we are continuous losing money in gambling and we are investing money again and again without any limit. if our playing gambling is effecting the life and future of our family and have a very bad impact on them in society then we will be certainly feel same for playing gambling, otherwise there is no need to feel same for playing gambling.

in fact no one want to lose money or that his family member become addicted to gambling and play gambling in such a way to lose all his wealth and ruin his life, i think in most of the societies it is really shameful that if a member of a family remain as badly addicted to gambling and lost everything, it is really petty for all family. i think we should play gambling with some good planing and if we do not have any planning then we will certainly lost money in gambling.

In my culture its a quite a silly thing to do with your hard earned money. Of course our family would be very disappointed to hear that we gambled all our money away. But the opposite happens if we win a ton of money from it. Quite weird to be honest. In my case I never liked telling anyone that I gamble. I feel like it creates a sense of distrust among the people we know at certain situations and all. Etc; asking for money at troublesome times. They might feel we are just asking for money to gamble or so.

I don't feel shameful about my self in any part of my life so feeling shameful of being a
doesn't really affect me much, the only thing that i am shameful about myself is not controlling and
*** up a really good profit 3 times and instead turning that into a loss.

When I'm winning in gambling I don't feel ashamed to be a gambler, but when I buy something through the winning of gambling, then I have to tell my parents about the source of the bitcoins and then I become ashamed while telling them that it was through gambling, as I find it very hard to tell them, so I do gamble very less frequently.

No reasons to be shameful being gambler as long as you are a good person and gambling is your passion of recreational activity that makes us happy. One situation that makes a gambler shameful is when you steal money for your betting investments, that's really a worst scenario and it's a crime with an unrighteous act of a person who doesn't value dignity. If you are a responsible gambler you should work and have a job in order to finance your leisure time and couldn't bother other persons finances.

Accept the reality, if you lose then that's it, nobody is perfect so everyone can commit mistakes and if ever we made big mistakes in gambling we just have to accept it and correct our mistakes. Of course it's good if you can keep it under control and I'm really glad for you if that's true. But I know that some gamblers only say the words but in reality can't control themselves. And when those gamblers feel shameful that's a good thing because being shameful is the first step on the way to quitting the addiction.

It depends on your situation, on what family you came from, on what religion are you in, something like that, and if you are from a very decent family, yet you are gambling? then you should be ashamed of yourself, because how come that you have the guts to gamble if your family raised you well, and you are just going to do gambling to earn money? I don't think so, of course your family would be mad at you because there is a lot of ways out there where you could earn money and yet gambling is the one you chose.
