It's a type of advertising spam, where they send it to your wallet just so you check out the site.

XD WHAT SITE?

The site is usually a comment along with the transaction and can be found putting the address in the blockchain.info site for example.

Check your coin privilege
What is the relation of topic title and contend?

And blockchain spam is a well known issue around,

Might be just a glitch in some hot wallet too

I assumed it had something to do with this forum since it's the only one where the address I received the BTC is linked to.

I guess I do not have enough luck to get random gifts like that. But if you are one of the lucky winners it must feel good.

Some people post just cuz they get the 0.05-0.1 btc a month from signature campaigns. Then again some are genuine, but want the extra btc, myself I don't get anything for posting here ! Smiley Not even a satoshi ! Smiley

I can't see how it's advertising, or how that helps anyone.

Most of the times i've recieved these types of spam it was only 1sat spams, my wallet is usually somewhat active on blockchain so that is probably where they picked it up from... also only way to get paid for being active on forum is to sell ur signature for advertisement :-) see below :0-)(

I received an amount of 1.111 Satoshis yesterday for no reason, went to check, found this wallet :

https://blockchain.info/address/1P7VNcDJ3VbUWqrUMZatR6kzEGAN7Fb5x7

It has sent 1.111 satoshis to over thousands of addresses yesterday, does anyone know why or who is sending over 100$ from this address?

I assumed it had something to do with this forum since it's the only one where the address I received the BTC is linked to.
Anyone knows anything about this?

Thank you.

a cheap advestisement. but its better to receive than being scammed, isn't it?

You don't get paid for being active unfortunately... but it would be awesome if that were to happen!

https://www.bitcoin.com/
It can't be advertising because there in no text attached to the tx, for it to be called advertising first they need to be advertising something
Could be spaming the blockchain but i doubt that too with transaction of this size.
In other words i don't know what it is but i know what it's not.

Maybe satoshi is messing around sending random people btc.
Doubt that too, if just 1 satoshi moves from any of Satoshi's known bitcoin addresses then people would be all over it. I think there is people who would check his addresses regularly.

You were right. Hmm. Is it really spam? or someone is trying to test something.

I am not one of the lucky persons who received some satoshi.,

This is most likely transaction spam, They choose (automatically) addresses that have been active in the previous duration, Send tons of transactions with a message in blockchain or a url to their site and maybe get thousands of visitors for few dollars.
