In my case, I play for fun, so I don't put it on my list of plans or promises of things I should do. There are times when I go months without making any bets, sometimes I make a bet and then go more than 3 weeks without making any bets. I do this because this way I maintain my self control and avoid becoming addicted, when a person starts thinking about games most of the day, then that person needs to stop playing very urgently because this shows that that person has become addicted to gambling. and you can't live without thinking about games, you can't live without playing and that's very serious

I think that whenever the end of the year comes and the person wants to make plans for the following year, then it would be better for that person when making the list of things they would like to do, not to include things they did a lot this year, not to include games of bad luck, drinking with friends, drugs, hanging out with lots of women. This person should focus on more productive things in their life and things related to fun that they can do normally like they have been doing this year. Now it's also always good to make a list of things that the person needs to moderate in the next year, things that the person needs to stop doing in the next year, things that the person should forget in the next year. I avoid doing this kind of thing, making notes on paper.

I don't have any plans related to gambling because for me, gambling is just entertainment, and I don't need to be too serious about gambling. I better make a plan of what I will do in the next year and try to achieve it. Gambling is not a lifestyle that must be done continuously, especially if it is to make money from gambling. That is inappropriate thinking because we will not be able to make money easily from gambling. But I will probably still gamble as usual, and I will try to limit my gambling activities as before. And I think I've done well this year, so I'll still do the same thing.
Me too although I have a more no New Year's resolution approach rather than only just about gambling, I feel like those resolutions are bound to be unfulfilled or broken at the first month or two of the New Year so I just stopped doing it altogether and just go for what I want to do, no more promising myself that I would do this, I just do it. Gambling would still probably a thing for me but as soon as my career improves and I make more money and can't afford to spend more time for leisure, I'll probably get less and less plays gambling but who cares? I might've subconsciously created a resolution that I would limit if not stop my gambling altogether and I just don't know it yet.

Only 4 weeks before we welcome a new year and new year for many is the best time to promise changes in their behavior, career, and habits, and many gamblers take the New Year as an opportunity to try to change something in their behavior or lifestyle and they do it through New Year resolution.

My question do you include gambling in your new resolution, and what's your New Year's resolution about gambling?

Let's talk about it.

If you may know almost 90 percent of people who always says this never change rather they ends up becoming more worst and they will still say this year has already gone far since they didn't achieve making and effecting a change in their life they would still wait for next year as usual and next continually. Well I am talking out of experience and it takes only the grace of God or what you believe to effect a change in person's life, and gambling they said is not what someone can likely takeover his decisions on his or their gambling activities/exercise because some many people might be suffering for gambling addiction and would promised themselves to change yet couldn't because of this behavior. Well as for me I don't think of stopping or going worse about my gambling practice and exercise I believe myself as a responsible gambler.

I never thought about including gambling in my New Year resolution, in fact, I never made any resolution, its just that I always promised myself to be a better person every year and I also never had any problems with gambling, so I thought there was no need to make one new resolution just for my gambling in the next year.

but I am curious about other people here who want to make resolutions about their gambling and read from some but there are also those who say that if they are not addicted or dont have a problem so everything is fine there is no need to put in a new resolution.

I used to have New Year resolutions when I was younger but I soon realized that it is child's play, whenever there is something that needs to be resolved I resolve it right away I don't want to wait for days or months and list it in a notebook.
We are now mature and should act like mature when we are facing gambling issues and realize that it's taking a lot from us, then we should do something to address that issue, New Year resolution is just a way to delay solving our problems, so I stop doing resolutions.

No. Since I am not addicted to gambling there is no need fo me to include it on my new years resolution. I can play gambling anytime depending on my extra money if I have one. No need to quit to be honest but setting some limits on it might be a big difference with addiction. If I had something to include that would be my emotion. This might contradict on my previous posts about gambling but yeah change is the only constant as what others would say.

Weird, this did not even come to my mind ever since. But in no way I am including a stop on gambling as my New Year's resolution. I am not a gambling addict so I have no issues with it. My ultimate goal next year is to save as much as possible so I can invest it in bitcoin and some altcoins. I am currently into small-time betting only but I am using bitcoin so I guess I'll be more motivated to be careful with my bets and make sure I have enough knowledge every time I take a bet. Maybe I'll include not being lazy in participating in some great promotions. So that will be all about New Year's resolution related to gambling.

I opened this thread because a friend keeps including his gambling addiction in his New Year's resolution but unfortunately, nothing happened he just forgot his resolution about gambling so he ended up forgetting his gambling resolution.

Like many of us, we should not include gambling in our New Year resolution, and we should make changes the moment we realize that gambling is already harming us, we should ask for professional help even if we realize it in the middle of the year, we should not wait and procrastinate we should take action right away and do not have to be time-specific when it comes to gambling.

It's really difficult to follow some of your new years resolution if a person is not that serious on what they wish. It's a matter of commitment and self control. Sometimes it's better to not say what you want so that you don't get distracted and Sometimes it's better to show the outcome of something than to say something.

It just so hilarious how people will put gambling to their new year plan, I think some people still don't understand what it means to gamble they keep see it as one way of getting financial support from and it is just a game for fun that if you win you make money out of it, and if you place gambling that way you won't have any problem even with addiction. And new year plans are suppose to be like a yearly budget of things you want archive mostly in term of finance so because every end of the year their should be a plan map drawn of how you want to execute your plans. People that annoy me the most are does people that are addicted, they are so consistent that they just want to make billions out of gambling with always a very hope of winning and at the end of the day they start selling their property.

My question do you include gambling in your new resolution, and what's your New Year's resolution about gambling?

I once included gambling in my New Year's resolution. That was the year 2018. I always play gambling and one of my favorites in the past is the satoshimines for online and blackjack for offline. I have lost a lot in satoshimines and to the point I have deposited $2k worth of Bitcoin to the website to recover my losses and bring back my confidence in winning.

After the deposit, I bet all the deposited amount in one go. The result is I lost all that money in less than a minute after confirmation of my deposit.

I went blank that day and didn't know to myself why I did that. I had stopped gambling at that time and when the new year came, I promised myself that I would never get back to that state where I wouldn't be able to control myself and deposit a huge amount of money to chase my losses.

No because I'm already in control of my gambling activities so no need for some "new year - new me" bs. Just set a specific goal to make more money the legal way and have the discipline to achieve that. New year's resolution sounds fantastic but it's just some writings on a paper that most people are not going to follow anyway. They'll probably write the same things at the start of 2025.

I have the same sentiments with you.

I don't really believe in new year's resolutions. For me, you can always change for the better, make, improve, and learn new things at any time of the year. New year, new me mindset irks me so much. Some people make new year's resolutions and not do it anyway because most of the time they expect so much from themselves that it's becoming tedious and hard to accomplish.

Whenever we set a goal, it's important to identify first if it is feasible. Start small. Do not go beyond your capabilities. If you want to eventually stop gambling, start small by limiting your gambling interaction then later on, totally cut it off. You can always do it even if it isn't new year. New year is becoming an excuse to have self-improvement when in fact you can do it anytime if only you want to and you are determined to do so.

My question do you include gambling in your new resolution, and what's your New Year's resolution about gambling?
For me, gambling is never considered a goal in life. Although it is easy to systematize the playing history of 2023, I think it is not necessary because it is always defaulted to in the section. Spending money on other small things in life, as simple as it sounds, is like spending money to buy toiletries.

A few days ago I was talking to a friend about the roundup of gamblers (because offline gambling is not legal in the area where I live), and I can only express the opinion that that was the end result of giving them results for misconduct, and to sum up the year, the police are probably also achieving their own KPIs.

I still play for fun.
I don't consider New Year's activities related to gambling.
I never have any plans on that argument.
obviously if a player feel more confident to have a plan its a nice idea have a Plan, but personally for next year I'm thinking of anything other than gambling Wink

i don't think that i will include gambling in my new year's resolution considering that i am not a gambling addict and i think my gambling is still normal, there is nothing that needs to be improved or anything.

it's just that i just hope that i can get more profit in the new year because this year my gambling performance was quite bad and sometimes it was quite annoying for me.

No I didn't include my gambling in my New Year resolution list because I don't overdo gambling activities even though I use gambling but I still manage my finances well so I don't need to make changes in dealing with my gambling.

However, we can make changes in a better direction to becomed a better person and it's not easy to make changes straight away because sometimes things just end up on the whislist and people sometimes find it difficult to make changes.
So a good resolution is aimed at addict gambling is difficult to make changes in themselves, they have to have the urge to stop using great intention and determination slowly before entering the new year they have to practice little by little and when they enter the new year they can become a much better person than the previous years.

Gambling is just my past time and so I never really see it as a serious matter. So I don't see any reason to include it in my new year's resolutions. And I just love my experience with gambling this year, so hopefully the following year will still be good to me. And I don't have much regrets with my gambling losses, as I have predicted it already before I started to risk some amount in gambling.

New year is now fast approaching. And if ever I have to make some new year's resolutions, most likely it would be to change some of my negative attitudes towards other people. And I know I have to work on it throughout the year.

Because it is not supposed to regret the defeat that has occurred because gambling is just a game too as you said gambling is only the past, victory will not necessarily be repeated again but defeat will definitely be repeated again if in the new year's resolution we still play gambling. It's good to estimate taking risks before playing, not many people can do this. Most of those who play only know about playing without thinking about the risks that exist later.

Does this mean that the new year is a new leaf?

Yes as least in my case, however, it's very difficult though to removed such vices. Maybe just reduced it a bit might be a good start. Although I believed that if a person really wanted to quit gambling for good, regardless if it is part of their New Year's resolution or not, then they can still quit it.

Or maybe there are old school gamblers here who still wishes and go with the traditional writing of a New year Resolution.

And that includes their gambling habits and other vices and stop it at the start of every year.

I never had a New Year resolution all my life. It's just a way to kid yourself because mostly they don't do it anyway. I think I've seen enough to prove that.
If you want to stop something bad then anytime should be a New Year. I stopped smoking on November 4 years ago and never had a single stick of a cigarette after that. It all depends on the person on how disciplined he will be if we want to absolutely stop his bad habit.

Maybe if I have one about gambling, I'd like it to be the discipline to never be emotional sometimes. Because when I see myself on a losing streak, I tend to lose control and will just snap and not think about my next move. No plans because I cannot control the madness of the RTP not showing for a long time. The feeling like you are being tricked. It makes my blood pump high and it leads to bad decisions like just pressing the "bet" button over and over again without control.
