Resolutions are made when the person makes a decision not to anymore indulge himself in a previously done activity. One would only include gambling amongst other activities in a resolution made for the new year if there are intentions to stop it. People willing to stop gambling are no longer getting any fun nor profits but have been financially wrecked from the activity hence the urge and intention to stop the activity.
But I’m quite sure some people would include gambling among whatever resolutions made for the new year and go ahead to break them. A lot of people hardly keep to their resolutions made.

Only 4 weeks before we welcome a new year and new year for many is the best time to promise changes in their behavior, career, and habits, and many gamblers take the New Year as an opportunity to try to change something in their behavior or lifestyle and they do it through New Year resolution.

My question do you include gambling in your new resolution, and what's your New Year's resolution about gambling?

Let's talk about it.
---
Just to have some mentions about into those previous resolutions on which people or those gamblers had made out,i do remember these kind of threads about new year resolution that i do highly doubt that to those
who had decided on quitting up gambling, then for sure most of those people didnt able to follow it out? hehe. Well, going back into the topic about new years resolution then i dont see any issues with
my gambling activity on which it would really be just that fine that i would really be still continuing on what are the things on what im doing now. When it comes to the amount that i do win in gambling
then i could say that in all the loss that i do have, i can say that im really that still on the middle part or breakeven and i didnt see any issues when it comes to finances or other correlated things into it
then it do really means that there's no need for me to quit up. I do gamble for fun(which it should be) and this is something that dont really changed up because i do know that im just
still doing fine and there's no need on stopping or whatsoever.

Well it totally depends on how you see gambling, someone who makes amazing profits in gambling and another person who losses all the time in gambling would surely have different plans for gambling in the new year, you can agree with me on that, so this is strictly based on what impact gambling is currently making or has made in your life. So if you're expecting to get the same POV on this thread then you'll be completely disappointed.

I have never had a reason to include gambling as part of my New Year's resolution. With this topic being brought up I am thinking I will do that in my 2024 New Year's resolution. In 2024 I would want to win more from sports betting I will totally avoid fantasy football and I would improve my poker playing skills. Aside from this every other thing it's okay.

It all depends on the conditions involved and the kinf of gambler in consideration, if we are to look to the event of gambling as being an enjoyable means of having fun and always excited about it because we are getting served as well deserved in it, there's no way we cannot do without gambling because we wanted to keep having fun through it, in so doing, we can include it on our next year resolution to advance in it, but if we are not the type that appreciate gambling with the way it is, we may not get the satisfaction in it to have included it on our next year resolution.

Is there anything like new year resolution? I just think life is a continuation process, we shouldn't let people make us feel unimportant or feel like we have not achieve anything great in life, whether this year or next year, there is no any difference between and my life will remain the way it's, my gambling lifestyle will also remain the same unless there is increment in the amount I make, I may increase my bankroll.

Regardless of all, I will try some other casino games just maybe I might do well in that aspects. I will try out those games if they are profitable to because I don't have any time to waste any money on unnecessary games. My next  line emotional control is to give my self zero tolerance when I lost and move on quickly and never look back. There was a time I tried to avenge a loss and it was even worse at the end. So, I will take necessary measure by next time.

i can't believe it, 2023 will soon be over.  New Year always gives encouragement to everyone, everyone hopes their life will be better than the previous year, i am also included, but i have never included gambling in my New Year's resolutions, for me gambling is an activity that cannot be made into a dream and just an entertainment activity.  In fact, i always hope to win when i gamble lol, but that's right, there are definitely some people out there who make winning gambling or jackpots their New Year's resolution.

For sure we've been there especially from a huge loss. We would normally desire to stop after a negative outcome but guess who's still here playing? Those are just desires and only is could make it happen or determine whether we would do it or not. Best way to deal with it is to gradually set limits to ourselves starting from the amount we can afford losing for that day or month then with our wagering amount on each bet. Discipline would always start from us. New Year is just an excuse and if we just want to, we may start anytime we want as long as there's our will. Stopping is also just an option wherein we may just impose control than to completely quit in an instant which is harder to achieve.

I have stopped making New Year's resolutions because in most cases I don't keep them. I don't need to wait till the end of the year to change a negative lifestyle. The new year is just like every other day for me. This is my personal perception so I am not insinuating that having a New Year resolution is in any way inappropriate.

My gambling behaviour has never had any adverse consequences on my financial or time management. I have not also had any issues with my friends and family due to gambling. I see myself as a moderate and responsible gambler because I use an insignificant part of my income for betting. Therefore, I have never included gambling in my New Year resolution when I engaged because I am pleased with my gambling lifestyle.

not doing this as well as i noticed that even if i have the list of my what-so-called 'new year's resolution', i still do what i want to do. hence, breaking most of them. and when it comes to gambling, i don't include this because am just an occasional gambler these days. so no harm done when it comes to my funds. just like you, if a person gambles just for fun or to pass time and not addicted to it, you won't include this in your list. however, if this activity is already detrimental to your finances, health or family relationships, better seriously take your oath to yourself and keep up in following your resolution for your own good.

My resolution from year to year is not to include elements of gambling in it. For me a gambler is just a loser who hopes to win, for me it's just a waste of time. Of course, the resolution of previous years for me was that maintaining health was far more important than money. It is true that money is very important in everyday life, but we need to remember that without taking care of our health every day, money will never come to us. It is better to make decisions (resolutions) that are beneficial for ourselves, rather than bringing elements of gambling into it. If we lose at gambling, of course our small family's economy will be shaken.

Most people that include gambling in their new year's are people battling with addiction or too much losses. To them gambling has become a major setback they have to stop in the new year.

Majority of gamblers, including me, have been tempted to take this decision at some point. There was time I was really battling with addiction and needed help. I took this decision but broke it effortlessly.

I didn't include gambling in my new resolutions. I will try to use my time for other important things.
Maybe it's time to make more efforts to reduce my gambling activities because this year, I feel like I'm spending too much money on gambling.
New Year is more about reflecting on what I have done in the past year and finding what I need to improve so that my life can be better in the following year. Of course, we all want to have a better life in the years to come so we have to try harder to achieve it.
As you said, it is more about trying to make changes to ourselves so that we are better than last year.

Personally I want a flexible means to make money, that is why I got into gambling and still having a gambling budget.
Sometimes I forgets to put my health in prayers but never in a million times would I pray I forget to ask for wealths.
I have an anxiety about making wealth with the fear of going broke in the future so I considers gambling as a flexible means to make money and interestingly, I say a loud AMEN about it in my new year resolution.

My new year resolution is that I don't face losts anymore and what ever I put myself in must be fitted that I would always be a winner. So yes, I do have my gambling scheme included to my new year resolution all to attain victorious ness of making profits than loosing.
It is pointed that my lost especially ones from the gambling shall be recovered with greater interests

Resolutions require extra level of discipline to keep, It is like an agreement between you and the future, but you do not need to wait until the new year starts before you do away with habits you do not want next year. Today is a good time to start so by the new year when making the resolutions, it will be easier to keep.

Luckily for me, I am a very responsible gambler, so my resolution on gambling will be to try as much as I can to remain responsible gambling next year.

Gambling is a fun thing that many people play just for fun purpose for him New Year or Old Year doesn't matter he can enjoy gambling anytime.  But one who aims to earn money from gambling can make a new resolution for the new year considering his current year situation, it is entirely his personal matter.  But I personally don't gamble for any fixed period of time.  I gamble because I like to enjoy gambling.  But if there is some win with it then it brings good rewards along with the fun which adds to the fun

Yes. It's personal like I shall promise to improve my winning rate as my new year's resolution. This will be a big change if I can do it but next year, I may have to promise the same thing again.

I don't remember anymore what my new years resolutions are but since the time I got a license to drink my new years resolution is always to promise not to drink too much. I get to drink too much just chatting with my neighbor on the porch.

I try to include it every time and every time I fail it.I fail because I get mad at some point of gambling for example not longer than yesterday I lost a ticket because of a game with 1.23 odd in football betting and when you get higher odds correctly and become mad when you lose because of such low odds.

Despite these facts though which bring to make a new year resolution to stop gambling I tend to forget facts quite easily and one big win in some slot machine and I am totally immersed in gambling again,so overall for me it does not work.

Not anymore, I knew myself all of these times and there's no need for me to include in my new Year resolution. I'm all good and gambles whenever I want and there's no need to make myself feel guilty about it. I'm happy and not that guilty at all that I am a gambler unlike the others that have been affecting their lives with gambling.

Maybe one thing is about wishing about good luck and winning most of the bets that I'll cast because if not, there's actually no need for me to do so. While for those that have been dealing with such huge problem in gambling, you have to just not include that in your new year's resolution but also seek some professional help because putting that into your resolution could be forgotten by you.

And while you are trying to stick yourself into some of these resolutions, it won't be enough and effective for some reasons. That's why if you are eager to follow your resolution, go seek professional help too and counsellors.

I’ve done this before but trust me it’s only effective on the following months or weeks after new year then you will come back to your old habits of gambling especially if you keep reading or discussing gambling topic in the forum.

As a member of signature campaign that requires gambling post per week, it’s very hard to completely remove gambling since I get inspiration on it for my posting so I just control properly my bankroll instead of erasing it to my system permanently.
