I have a few photos I've taken of my crypto portfolio and the balance I had on PrimeDice back when I was a very big crypto casino addict. I remember I touched about 0.4BTC starting with no deposits or anything but the 200 satoshi (correct me if I'm wrong) free faucet. I tried to go for a 4950x win and I WON, so that's why I took a picture of it.

To be honest, there are so many "checkpoints" I've had during my crypto journey and I truly regret I haven't saved them anywhere. From time to time, I think about the idea of printing the BTC chart every month right next to my portfolio value.. Earlier today I checked my old email accounts and saw some correspondence between me and an old friend when BTC was under $500. Good, good times.

I have never saved a site or recorded a video about crypto, there are many sites about crypto, if the site that I always visit is deleted I will look for other sites, because I'm sure sites about Crypto won't be completely deleted.
I don't see the point of safekeeping sites or videos or anything vaguely affiliated with bitcoin really. It's just a waste of time. If there is something that had been stated though that is remarkable I might record it and save it so I can get back to it for whenever I want to. But most of the time looking for something similar to the ones I lost usually do the trick, so I don't bother myself with saving too much unnecessary stuff.

I didn't really record anything related to crypto in the past years, I'm just saving some stuffs related to my bitcoin's wallet data as private keys and password, but I don't really save bitcoin's price or even I don't do predictions, I just believe in my intuition related to the price and I'm always following it. However the most important stuffs about bitcoin history are already saved in the internet and anyone be able to look at it by simple reaserches.

I agree. Im pretty sure that lot of people saved it so why do I need to saved in myself. I can search it to get information if I want. But having collection of records about bitcoin was really helpful because you will know the status of its value.
We dont actually need to save a compilation of videos and texts about bitcoin or even the crypto world because we are now living in the 21st century meaning to say we are in the technology era right now. Even if we dont have any record we can still find a lot of this through internet most especially about the bitcoin and the crypto world.

But it will be easier for you if you really save or record some things about crypto because if you don't save it will took a lot of time and effort before you find them. There are some cases that you need to find it because there are important details about that, for example, the time of transactions, the date, the website and anything more that will help you to observe past transactions in cryptocurrency.

There is a lot of knowledge that we need to learn in the cryptocurrency market, it is essential to keep that knowledge or experience and I think that is very good.
I agree that we can find everything on the internet but it will take a lot more time than we actively save it.

Saving important information from a site was usual for me I have to take a bookmark and or sometimes copying the URL of the site or save it in a notepad and mostly it is related to cryptocurrency sites, not a dedicated forum site like Bitcointalk but news that pretty much makes the importance in taking part or related to cryptocurrency sometimes, and mostly online wallet and exchange has a certain space in my notepad of saving sites related to cryptocurrency so you can say that I often do that, but just saving the URL link to a notepad.

One would often think that you can resort to the Internet to find some sort of archive of whatever you need, be it because it is still online, has historical data browsing capabilities, or is stored at site such as Archive Today or The Way Back Machine.

Of course, the above is not true in a wide variety of cases: sites get pulled down over time, and pop goes their content, other sites alter/overwrite their content, and the Archive sites by excellence may one day disappear, along with the vast amount of historical data they contain.

Sites like The Wayback Machine cannot archive all types of data, and do not archive the content for every single modification performed to a given site. In addition, the may take into account appeals to exclude sites (historically they followed the robots exclusion standard, but now they seem to require a citation to do so), rendering a given set of archived data unavailable.

All in all, if you’re really keen on archiving something, it’s better to assure you do it yourself.

If I were in the same year as you, maybe I would also do the same thing by storing some important news and history in the form of photos, documents, videos and other things that should be known by me in the future as a reminder or for my child.

That is indeed a very important thing, but for the present era with better technological developments. All history can be stored properly in a private cloud or can use a wayback machine website like web.archive.org and archive.org. which makes it possible to record all the data that is on the selected website's display and store it on their server.

for the way I record and store every event that happens to bitcoin, I bookmark in my browser account so that it will automatically be backed up to a cloud account and I also use a smartphone to screenshot important events aand then the screenshot is automatically uploaded to my cloud account.

that way, then all historical events about bitcoin or other history can be stored safely and the personal cloud application will remind me of that history every year at the same date and time when uploaded.

My answer is yes, I always save useful information and use it for reference in case of need.
The information I save includes my trading experience and successful people I know. The tips and technical knowledge of cryptocurrencies are also things that I save.

I don't need to record that because all my transaction is recorded permanently on the Blockchain. Just seeing the transaction back in time which is crazy I collected and sold so many bitcoins at that time. If you want to see your history transaction just don't convert the amount into the current price especially the transaction that happened when the price was so low, just friendly advice.

If you take the actual time to read what threads are about your life will improve immeasurably.

And yeah, OP, all that stuff is history in the making--I agree that bitcoin and crypto culture will probably be studied in years to come.  I'd love to read the telling of it if a book is ever written.

The lightspeed at which it all moves makes the attempts so far look a bit naff. Digital Gold is a great read about the very early phase and then it gets bogged down in the Winkies arguing with Charlie Shrem over long dead companies. I keep meaning to get around to watching the Rise and Rise of Bitcoin again but it might feel painfully passe at this point.

Stuff that seemed massive at the time has faded to complete irrelevance now.

sometimes i bookmark some topics or comments on bitcointalk to look at in the future like the 5 BTC faucet topic.
Smart.  I had the thread where the first signature campaign got started bookmarked, but I lost it for some reason.  And man, that 5BTC faucet!  Just a snippet from one post in that thread:

Quote
I got 5 then felt bad so sent you 50 back

Crazy to think that was only ten years ago.  2010 seems like yesterday to me.

Anyway, I don't save old files or anything like that, but there are certain things I hold on to that have personal if not historical significance.  I have some BTC pennies that I got as a giveaway from minerjones as well as some stickers he sent along with them.  He also gave away some silver-colored BTC coins about the size of a silver dollar, and I have those still in their capsules.

I also have a silver skull that belonged to the late Zepher which I bought in the Auctions section.  I didn't know him very well, but it's kind of symbolic of the importance this forum has to me and how important good members are to it.  And yeah, OP, all that stuff is history in the making--I agree that bitcoin and crypto culture will probably be studied in years to come.  I'd love to read the telling of it if a book is ever written.

I don't do that. I had a couple of screenshots that I found interesting back then, but honestly, now I have no idea where they are. If we're talking about 10 years in the future or something, I am sure that many websites would still be on. Those that won't be can be accessed by Wayback machine or something similar like joniboini pointed out. I also wanted to say that coinmarketcap has historical screenshots that go back to the end of April 2013 and then on a weekly basis up till these days. I like to take a look at some of them from time to time to see how much the market's changed and how unbelievable the prices were.

I would be honest  I do that , take a screenshot and unfortunately I do take a lot of screenshots and then I end up loosing the news anyways. I can never scramble through that clutter !

:') But I think we already can find important events and news right here , you can check out the old topics and you will be able to see a lot of things that you would have missed , sometimes I go though them . Other than that I think the future is what bitcoins is all about .

I save a lot of history but unfortunately my laptop was lost at that time, unfortunately there are no important files in it, I want to share it here, I saved a lot there, including the price of ATH Bitcoin 2017 and others as well as other historical images including videos, but I recorded some to show later, I save and back it up for next year

I only save screenshots of photos when I first earn bitcoin in the signature campaign Komodo way back 2016, screenshots of HYIP and faucets where I earn a little bit of bitcoins, and photos when I cash out $4,000 worth of bitcoin, basically just those, didn't even bother saving sites because I guess I'm too lazy to do that or I just don't see them as important to be save.

And for all the bitcoin I earned, blockchain is always there.

Guess you mean "unborn children". Clone sounds a bit creepy.
Well, I think archived things are best stored decentrally. Am not too comfortable with the centralized solutions. But I still manage them for now.
There are couple of decentralized alternatives am not sure work today. I have used one few times but don't think it's something I can depend on too.  Others are not very easy to use.
One of my most reliable ways of storing such things is having very important ones stored offline on my data storage devices just incase something happens to the internet.

I was not able to save the ATH before but this time I will make sure that i have the copy of the up coming bull run and i will show that to the haters of bitcoin. It’s goo that you have the best bitcoin history and looks like you’re here for almost a decade as well with bitcoin? Researcher will surely make a study on how bitcoin change the world financial system and I’m so excited for this.

I have a pretty large collection of screenshots that I take from 2014 when I start to collect coins from faucets. It's not about something that is particularly relevant and important, but for me personally it has sentimental value. I think it's important to preserve some of your personal history, even though everything is available online today.

This is from time faucets pay 500 - 5000 satoshi :
