The terms and conditions of casinos and other companies is usually very lengthy and somehow boring for some people. Hence , many people rarely find time to read them. They may actually contain some of the complaints that people raise about some casinos such requiring KYC if there is need or suspicion of money laundering activities.
What is your take on this?
I know that my answer doesn't serve as an example of how others should do it and it isn't meant to serve as that anyway.
But I think when people have spent a decent amount of time with gambling in different casinos and online-casinos, most of them will have gathered a basic understanding of what is allowed and what is prohibited. What is required and what is recommend.
When you mention money laundering, do I really need to read the terms and conditions to know what I am allowed to or not? For instance, I know that casinos in general require any amount deposited to be wagered 1x before you can withdraw the money again. I don't know if a casino has stricter requirements for the wagered amount, but from my experience this is what I have in mind when I sign up and use a casino and I never ran into problems.
KYC: well, I just live with the fact and accept that they can ask for KYC at any time. I just do. Am I willing to provide my documentation to the operators of a certain casino? If not, why do I choose to deposit money with them in the first place? There is a contradiction in my opinion when people decide to deposit, but are then shocked when KYC is asked for and they decide against submitting it because they find the operators shady. Well, who is to blame then other than yourself?
Am I allowed to have several accounts? I assume no, that's it.
The list goes on and there are so many things that someone can understand without reading the TOS.
What I would recommend reading about is whether jurisdictions are excluded as this is typically something where different casinos can vary wildly and if you then have to submit KYC and it turns out you come from a country that is restriction from playing, well, then you have a problem. But most of the stuff is known to the average gambler.
Better be safe than sorry and read the terms and conditions!
Enjoy!
