I'm hoping BPB will come back. I don't think he deserved all this drama. He seemed to be a nice guy and contributed to the community making people happy with his gifts. From my perspective, it's obvious that he didn't try to cause any harm and it's pretty sad that some were so cynical. I believe that it would be nice to have him around again. Mostly because he was nice.

He always asks for some kind of small payment from you first. He pretty much does not outright give things away for free.
Not true. He often send stuff before asking the payment (check his trust rating for proof). I always got my stuff before he ask me to pay me (if he asked at all).

If for example he would come back when he is unbaned and tell people to send him 1 BTC and he will return 3 BTC, how many people do you think will take up his offer? Probably a lot. What do you think would happen when they take up the offer? I am guessing nothing....as in theywill not get anything in eturn
The doubling service was a one time thing for friends only. It just got interpreted the wrong way. It was meant to be a joke to give people some free BTC, but it backfired (as you can see).

To be clear: This is my interpretation of things he said to me in private.

Some people just don't get it... How could he scam anyone? If you see a guy asking for a loan that is known to give out sums of money for no reason, would you loan him the funds? If he asks for money it would be a huge red flag. Until then, he's been giving out stacks of BTC for free. Sounds real scammy to me  Roll Eyes

He's not banned (AFAIK), I just don't trust him personally.
Why everyone else here seems to think it's their business whom I decide to trust, I don't know...

I just think you gave him that negative rating because you didn't get one of the awesome deals.
If you don't trust anyone, it doesn't mean you have to give him a negative rating. Just avoid him. If he scams you then that leaving the rating would be understandable.
He gave him the negative rating because he does not trust him. Anyone can give anyone positive trust if for whatever reason you trust the person, and you can give negative trust if you do not trust them.

There was also a link the luke-jr posted of a transcript of an IRC chat when he was offered to let luke-jr double a .01 payment if luke would send .01 to bipolarbob first, luke declined because this is something that a scammer would do even if he has come through prior times.
A

I'm just going to be flat out honest with you guys.

Bob's sent me probably more than 1 BTC in the past, for no reason; sometimess he'd randomly message me offering me BTC, or I'd send him a message asking him for a few mBTC for whatever reason, he hasn't sent me anything in a few weeks, but he's sent me plenty in the past. The most he's ever sent me at a time was .2 and he's sent me BTC quite a few times, so I'm sure it's been more than 1.

So unless you guys are going to say/think that Bob is a wallet hacker too, you should just disregard every negative thought you have about him because he really is just a nice, generous guy

He completely deserves the positive trust I gave him, as well as the ton of it a bunch of other users did too.
He may very well be generous to people, but it is still suspicious. He could very well be setting people up for a very big scam, or he could be prepping people to fall for a scam from other accounts.

It was said near the beginning of the thread that people who are bipolar and going through a manic attack do not realize they are going through mania and will make decisions that are bad but they think are good. BiPolarBob is openly admitting that what he is doing is a bad deal for him. At the very least he is lying about being bipolar.

LOL, you just contradicted yourself.
If you got 1 LTC (scamcoin) free, then he's doing altcoin giveaways...
He was doing an altcoin giveaway and banned because of that. I totally get that and I find it fair (harsh, but fair). However, I don't see how LTC is a scamcoin.

this gos a bit offtop but lets say i dont call LTC an altcoin. for me BTC/LTC is like USD/EUR.

Honestly, I could care more about BiPolarBob and this thread as a whole, but that seems very broken to me. Going to report it in Meta.

I find it extremely strange that Luke's negative trust cancelled out 9 POSITIVE TRUSTS, some from people with a higher trust rating than him who are on level 1 of DefaultTrust, AND managed to bring the guy down to -5 trust points. Last time I checked negative reputations decrease trust by 0.5-4 points.
That does sound odd. Maybe the forum has a place to report bugs?

I goggled him (his nickname) .... found this :

First off I’m an inventor. I have patents on my electric nose picker and toilet paper unroller when you clap your hands. I am working on patenting a gas fired bread toaster. I did make a prototype of a cranial electromagnetic stimulator but unfortunately I forgot how I did it because amnesia is one of the side effects. I’m also into civil war airplanes which is a neat hobby. I have followed my dream of moving into the country and raising my own food. Unfortunately I was sold a flock of gay chickens. They don’t reproduce very well. As much as I’ve tried (can’t tell you the methods here), I can’t break them of this disgusting habit.

"Oh no, I'm not sick, well I'm not physically sick anyway. Mentally I'm sick beyond any doctor's ability to measure it, but otherwise I'm great!" −

Edit i also found out why is he banned

'fully know why I received my ban. I was giving away 1 free Litecoin to each poster in a thread I had posted. The rules state that no free currencies can be given away on the forums, but I thought that by posting it in the Marketplace section this would make my thread exempt from this rule. Apparently not, but I hope to be back within a month on Bitcointalk.'

and the negative trust :v :

'The allegations against me are completely false. I don’t think my activities will cause anyone to empty their wallet for a ‘too good to be true’ deal. If you look at my most popular thread, it’s only a 0.002btc price (steam codes). In addition, people can see all the successful sales and that everything is above board and trust me. 99% of people have caught on that it’s a fun thing, and everyone got what they paid for. Hardly an attempt to make people blindly hand out BTC.'
