Nah this is not possible, the bitcoin is in fact on a good way but the dollar is still way bigger and the bitcoin also need it so for this time it will not happen, maybe in the far future.

When countries are tired of reproducing their paper money and metal coins, I'm sure that it will come, but I doubt it if they will replace it with bitcoin. Maybe they will just copy bitcoin and run it under their control it will be a digital form of their currency. Bitcoin would just dominate other currencies if someone with great influence uses it and introduce it to the public.

Bitcoin isn't going to replace the currency of a country, but bitcoin will become a universal currency for the entire world, in Europe we are already familiar with the euro as a currency, I believe bitcoin will be greater than that.

Wrong if we think cryptocurrency and physical currencies will not collide. If cryptocurrency market received more attention, and majority of people in the world are familiar with bitcoin, then the global economy will change. This will not happen in the near future, only a third world war which could make it faster.

That is very impossible that bitcoin  will replace dollar because people doesn't want to change the currency system of a country.
I will believe if gold will be the next currency and if the government will implement again the ancient times of law.
But with bitcoin, I really don't think it will happen.
Some believe it because they want to replace dollar so they will be rich easily, they are dreaming for sure, bitcoin cannot replace dollar because dollar is own by strong nation, stronger than the bitcoin community.

They are just thinking about themselves if they are thinking that way but in reality it is really impossible to replace fiat because of a lot of things to be settled first by the central banks of a country and as well as a law that will pass the replacement of their own currency. Even though bitcoin is really a great platform for financial services but with this case, I find it very hard.

That might be the case right now, but in the far future, we don't know what will happen. The only reason why bitcoins cannot replace dollar anytime soon is because our community isn't large enough to do so. Once mass adoption is taking over, everything that you guys said will become false.

I don't think bitcoins have to be settled by the central banks and have laws and all those stuff to replace dollars. If everyone starts using bitcoins, then bitcoin has replaced dollars. No law or anything required at all since bitcoins is decentralized.

I can only think of dollar as a huge wall that covers the existence of bitcoin. Bitcoin is there but people aren't aware of it.

There is a need of law for its replacement even though majority of us will be shifting to bitcoin completely still the government is the one to decide if it needs to be implemented. But of course the governments purpose is to manipulate, regulate and control everything and with bitcoins they will be totally not have the powers for doing it.

i think everything is possible in this world, but to me it is not such an easy job, as bitcoin is in its initial state and it will take a lot of time to reach to such position to replace dollar, it can only be possible if all the people stop using USD.

This question depends on what definition of the dollar is being considered.  If the definition of a US dollar is defined as the actual tender that is used as the medium of exchange, then it is possible that the dollar be replaced by bitcoin.  However, keep in mind that most of the transactions that take place in USD are already transmitted in digital form.  I think that when we are considering the US dollar, we are implicitly considering the fractional reserve banking system that controls it's value which changes the original question significantly.  Powerful people are in control of the worlds banking systems....If the world's banking systems are to be replaced, they will be replaced gradually, and wont be replaced anytime soon.

I know and I believe its not happening and dollar cannot replace Bitcoin either as a currency in the US or a currency for international trade. They will both co-opt to make the financial system a better platform. Its either Bitcoin gives room for such co-option or its banned in the US and if its done that way, then I see quite a number of countries following the same pattern which will definitely be bad for Bitcoin...
No that's not gonna happen dollar is the most strongest currency i know in this world and bitcoin is just depending on dollar so how can you say or OP say that bitcoin can really replace dollar soon. If there's no dollar bitcoin don't have value.
they might think about a bitcoin standalone , value wouldn't be like 1 bitcoin = $800 but 1 bitcoin = 1 bitcoin , 1 bitcoin = 1 laptop. it's sounds like strange for now, but everything really can happened. i can't say dollar would NEVER replaced , but considering the current condition , i can't see any reason for dollar to falling down and replaced.

no, i don't think so, but i think it will "accompany" USD more like now, and it will become more and more popular
I also think so that bitcoin is not going to replace dollar , as dollar is one of the most stable and reference currency of the world, while bitcoin is comparatively newly generated currency therefore it is not so easy that bitcoin will replace USD so easily. But surely we can expect a big competition among these two.

I don't think that any competition even exists within these two. Bitcoin will continue to gain popularity among the users of Internet, and slowly, it is going to become the only currency which will be used "online", meaning no PayPal, no Payza and no stupid limitations. It is going to be a great asset for internet users, with very much freedom.

I do not think bitcoin will ever replace dollar or pound or any other primary currency. But bitcoin is becoming very popular. I think it will be adopted widely beside the fiat. But It will never replace the fiat. Although some people think that bitcoin may replace the fiat. I have seen that people usually use bitcoin as alternative currency. It helps in making payment, online purchase etc. They even sell BTC if BTC price goes up and switch into fiat.

Probably bitcoin will never replace dollar, IMO at most it will become widely used, similar to euro in Europe.
Sometime i also think that bitcoin will never replace dollar because bitcoin just a crypto currency and there is no physical shape of bitcoin and Dollar have physical shape and Dollar is accept in everywhere for online and for direct shopping and currency we can buy every think from online with bitcoin nowadays .
You are right with what you see, it can never happen, bitcoin cannot replace dollar soon and in the near future. It will still be an alternative currency without a value if without fiat, so basically it relies on fiat.

yeah i think so too. and i agree that in the future, though it won't replace the dollar or any other currency, it will be a very god alternative to make online purchases much like how credit cards are being used now. let's face it, bitcoin has a lot of benefits to provide if more and more people are using it. but we still need real money for our everyday purchases and i don't think bitcoin would be able to cover for the that anytime soon.
Bitcoin still can just use if you have internet but if there is no internet you can use it.. there is a place in my country where we can have internet.. so i think fiat or dollar still be the main use because of this.. and many weaknesses of using bitcoinlike the price is not stable anytime the price can be increase but if we are lucky that the price will increase we are getting the benefits..
Bitcoin will be just the same as credit card like other said..
