it is IMPOSSIBLE for bitcoins to replace Dollar.

i didnt say bitcoin wont be appreciated but it will never replace dollar.

lets keep it honest,

bitcoin supply = 21million
lots of wallets lost or password / seed forgotten

population using dollar = +- 1billion.

how is the supply going to cope with the demand? its impossible.

what? this is a common misconception about the supply and the divisors of bitcoin, the real bitcoin supply is 2.1 quadrillion of satoshi

this means plenty for everybody, since the world debt is not even int he range of Q...
but you forget one thing, nothing is impossible in this world, maybe someday the dollar will experience a loss of quality, and can be replaced with bitcoin, well maybe someday  Grin

Bitcoin will never replace fiat. It just will never happen. As much as people hope it will, fiat is just too convenient for people.  Sad Sad Sad

Yup also not all country have the same technology than others.
Also it might going to happen, but the problem is that the people still don't really know how to use it and what it is.
I think this is just okay for now to use is no rush we can still wait for the future.

Yes I believe that it will replace the dollar soon.
immediately, but it may still 10-20 years away, because it might destroy the world economy today, probably bitcoin will be accepted in all countries, so that the currency union into bitcoin

Sounds good! There are lot of chances for moving towards there. Exchanges Coinbase and Gemini are working hardly on these kind of motivations. One of the try to spread bitcoin is by taking it in bitcoin debit cards. If replace takes place in near future, then we can see bitcoin prices in moon for sure.....my personal thinking.

There are some places that do accept Bitcoin which you can transfer into various prepaid card which you can use at most places, namely places like BitGold or other such platforms.

It really comes down to the convenience of the platform, and not how much it actually contributes to anything. The current generation is more interested in being able to do things quickly as opposed to anything else.

What I think is a better discussion to have about this is why would we want Bitcoin to be the world's reserve currency. Existing fiat currencies are controlled and manipulated by Governments and Banks. Do you think these people are going to just let Bitcoin exist without their involvement or blessing? Do you think these people aren't going to want to have control and option to manipulate Bitcoin as they have fiat?

I think the answer is No!

Coinbase CEO believes bitcoin will replace dollar within 15 years.

Read the following news:
http://cointelegraph.com/news/114983/coinbase-ceo-bitcoin-will-replace-dollar-within-15-years

Do you think it will be true? Are you positive towards bitcoin's future status?

I think 15 years sounds like a very short time period. Personally I think that it isn't going to replace the dollar, but if it did I would guess that it would take closer to 30 years than 15.
bitcoin users continues to increase each time the transaction continues to grow, it is not possible to replace the dollar bitcoin
a remarkable achievement from 2009  Grin
I think 15 years is still too early, bitcoin still need a lot of improv and it took more time as well
15 years too soon, I think

15 years are too soon and satoshi have said that 20 years start from 2009 bitcoin price will be wroth nothing or quiet high.
It means 15 years from now, so bitcoin price will go high then but I still don't think it will replaced dollar. It will changes the history!

I don't think Bitcoin will completely replace the dollar anytime soon. But at the same time, who says it has to? Email and the internet never completely replaced the fax machine as fax machines are still in use and are being sold today.

Bitcoin the currency is just one aspect of Bitcoin the protocol. Bitcoin will have so many uses and apps - many of which haven't even been imagined yet -  that replacing the dollar won't even matter. When the internet first came out, who knew that you would be able to do all the things you can with it now. Bitcoin's utility will be far greater than just as a currency.

I don't think that it can replace it but it can become equal, with time of course.

Yes and dollar cannot be replaced by any digital currency, dollar is the king of currency, as it is a only currency which is used and accepted across the globe, where as bitcoin is still new to many countries who have not heard about the bitcoins, So I don't think that dollar will replaced by bitcoin or sooner or latter.

as i see it, the dollars can be replaced, by another centralized fiat that can go better against bitcoin, maybe based on the blockchain, in short a centralized bitcoin

otherwise why banks are so interested in the blockchain...

I don't think so. It's impossible, even in next 50 years, i think it's still impossible. because not all people know about bitcoin, and the price like a gold. can increase and decrease.
50 years are much far from now, but about the reachability people will know about bitcoin but the important thing is if they will use it? In generally there are low chances for bitcoin to replace fiat.

i think bitcoin can be treat as equal as $, but bitcoin cannot fully replace the dollars (fiat). As, at some point we cannot resist to use fiat/dollars than bitcoin.

bitcoin will never replace dolar

You need to learn geography, the largest country in the world is china and russia. Obviously you never study any geography before but if you mean that it is their economy then you are right however that doesnt mean bitcoin will never replace dollar. Thousand years ago people never thought that gold is replacable by money as well

Yes true.  15 years from now there will be some digital currency that replaces paper money and USD, more than likely that currency will be Bitcoin.  I cannot see it replacing dollar within the next 5 years, it is going to need some more time.

Well it could take any space between those two points, it all depends what happens with the socio-economic scene in the world. If there is a gigantic financial collapse in some way that would be worse than the Great Depression, we could see assets like Bitcoin spike, and, if agreed on by enough nations, be made the world reserve currency, which would be close enough to replacing the dollar.

It all depends on what everyone is holding at the end of the collapse. Everyone can determine demand based on how much they want to exchange a common good for other goods.
