Yeah thats what I've been saying in reply to others. At the time of posting this I was more concerned about what would happen so I wasn't really thinking of things like another technology that could be better used for currency that we can't even imagine. Like the thought of internet in the 1800's, no one would've known this existed or anything like it. Probably unimaginable for them. We'll probably either destroy eachothers because humans are stupid, or we'll be immortal by then. Anything could happen
Still unexpected deaths. But didn't think that through, in 100 years (if we don't destroy eachother, you never know with humans) we would probably have a new digital currency (or one besides BTC), or maybe humans would be invincible. Maybe we'll be on other planets or BTC will become useless. To many variables I didn't think about before posting.
50 years ago, no one can imagine our digital life today. It is hard to imagine what it will be like 100 years later with the fast pace of digital revolution. Bitcoin may be gone and replaced by better coin, or it evolves and becomes an important part of daily life.
No one can predict whether our planet will be surviving for a century or not. Nobody can predict the future. In an ideal situation, where there will be no devastation and our planet will keep on making progress in a positive way, definitely Bitcoin will survive and by then humans will be living in a cashless society. However, reality is a little bit different from our imaginations. A century is a very long period for predicting anything with certainty.There is nothing prevents bitcoin from surviving forever. It was coded perfectly my mr. satoshi and the working structure of bitcoin requires only minor improvements and updates as far as I know.
Presumably people will write Wills (the same as they do now) and they could leave their wallet passwords in the Will or some similar solution. They could also simply tell their heir the wallet password on their deathbed or transfer their wallet funds to their heir before they die.
I don't think it is a problem. In 100 years tech will be so much more advanced than now. We'll have wearable computers and our wallets will probably be embedded into our wrist or something! It won't be a problem like you think it is.

Before 2009 no one know what is bitcoin and no one will know what will happen after 100 years. may be like (old phones and new one)

actually i really don't know if bitcoin survive after 100 years because i dont know if i am still alive in that year. so that i think it will survive as long as, their so many people believe in bitcoin........ i think many people used bitcoin by the year past and become popular every person and it will they become the first priority because of the easy way to earn income.

So let's say 100 years from now BTC is the main currency of the world. Now I am 15, and a lot of other early investors are also pretty young. So in 100 years when the first people to invest in BTC start dying off, that is a lot of wallets with probably a good sum of BTC just left there forever.
Yes it is. Now is 2017 and total supply amount of Bitcoin will be mined out in 2140 so I think Bitcoin will survive until the supply amount of Bitcoin still not mined out so I believe that Bitcoin will be able to survive for more than 100 years more 
From what I have read, super-computers will be able to crack the Bitcoin private keys in about 10 years from now. So I would say that the maximum lifespan of Bitcoin is up to 2027. But here is no guarantee in this. The devs can do some hard forking to prevent the private keys from getting cracked.
As long as there is an internet, bitcoin will survive even though the next 100 years. But, if the internet does not exist then bitcoin will be extinct because with no internet access then there is no bitcoin anyway. I think the next 100 years bitcoin even more shine with technology that is always evolving every time so it is not possible if the internet will be gone.

i dont think if bitcoin will going to survive after 100 years because some goverments still hate this but i think if all country and all goverments accept this bitcoin i think it is a yes and i think the value of bitcoin will grow more so its good to hold it . in 100 years the bubble will explode a hundred times and I think there will be a lot of new things
Yes because generation of bitcoins will finish by 2130. So till that time at least bitcoins will be worlds famous, well know, most valuable and precious cryptocurrency among cryptomarket. It have strong proof of work, which increasing day by day to provide more stability, security and safety to network done by miners. So in coming 100 years bitcoin will not just survive but, it will create its own height in market. Price for exchange against fiat, which will be remarkable in coming 100 years.
I can not predict what the future of bitcoin will be. But now it grows quite stable and its value is quite high. I think it will last more than 100 years. I think it will grow more than 100 years later, we can inherit the values and benefits of bitcoin for humans.
I think 100 time is so long, I'm 100% sure that 100 years away all the members here are dead. this makes me not convinced that bitcoin can last up to 100 years because the development of information and technology very rapidly.

I think yes, because some of our bitcoin user doing their best to stop the plan of our government to dissolve the bitcoin in our life. But I think some of the government in other countries planning the bitcoin to ban in their country because they think that the bitcoin is unfair to other people who is working hard to earn money for their families, but here in bitcoin you can earned money by posting and being active here.
To think about such a question is like discussing "Is there life on Mars"? In 100 years there will be such technologies, which we can not imagine. Perhaps, the crypto currency will exist, but not in the form we know them today.
