Thats a really funny thing, even in sports they also have this pre game rituals lol.
I think they are just doing that "voodoo" thing just to make themselves feel better and boost their confidence in betting. Nevertheless, it doesnt have any effect such as accuracy in winning.
I too have experienced It while I was placing a bet in a roulette. I kissed the Chip and said "please multiply, youre the last of your kind" lol.

C'mon mate! Don't tell me you still got superstitious beliefs. We're now living in the modern days, depending on those things can give you lesser to no chance of winning compare on making strategic moves, take note, with scientific basis. IMO I don't believe on such rituals or whatsoever, yeah there's a thing called luck but I think it doesn't fall under this category since it was a natural phenomenon Cheesy

@TIDOVEE there’s no doubt that we gamblers are superstitious, but till date I have never met any gambler who’s confessed to me that he’s using voodoo to win in gambling. However I won’t completely deny that such practices don’t take place, because when it comes to gamblers who badly wants to win money anything is possible.

I've also heard about this and it's always talked about by gamblers. I would assume that is not true, this is very difficult to prove by logic. if anyone really believes in it I don't mind it because things like this depend on how people respond to it. but if there are people who prove it before my own eyes maybe I will believe in it, this will be difficult to prove.

Each players has their own superstitious belief when gambling. It can be charms, lucky color, coin, socks or anything, just name it. We cannot really validate if any of this is true but as long as this is what players believe then just let it be. I just believe that gambling is purely based on luck and of course judgement and some skill, but if a player believes in superstition and if he thinks this can help him win then that is his own belief. I my self close my eyes and whisper continuously when I bet and hope that I win and sometimes it helps.

It could be true because we don't know if they are using voodoo or not. But I heard that in some Asian countries, another spiritual power that has been using for winning the gambling game, but I never search for the truth. Voodoo and something like that is on our side, and I guess some people are using their power to help them to win. A human can use spiritual to everything, including to win in the gambling games. But I don't think that will work many times because some people will get lucky and beat that person to get the money.

Nope, although lucky charms still do exist like picture of someone or the person itself in attendance, things given by, It's like just an inspiration but if you mean it's like a magic spell or something, definitely not. For me, like what i've said lucky charms are just an inspiration for a person, not a voodoo. We are in modern technology there's no way a spell can manipulate a computer. Some are just superstitious, especially Asian but I don't believe in spell to increase my chances of winning simply because it has nothing to do with it.

Nope. I did use to carry around items hoping that these items would somehow increase my chances of winning in betting and gambling, but I stopped doing that a couple years ago and I've mostly come to the conclusion that gambling's purely luck-based with very few exceptions, and there's very little you can do about it. Don't actively worry about increasing your chances of winning; there's really not much you can do about it. Have fun with what you're doing, and if you do happen to lose, be glad that you've only gambled an amount you were okay with losing in the first place. Don't go overboard with it.

Yes for me, especially here in the Philippines, voodoo are also famous here like every charms or some superstitious beliefs and practices when you are gambling.

I also watched some local movie before with some scene of gambling (cock fighting), the guy has lucky charm, this charm is not only for gambling but also on his protection like he can easily dodge some bullets.

what more can i add here? we are already in the digital age where superstitious beliefs like voodoo are proven not to affect this kind of business. gambling is based on luck so how will voodoo influence the results of the games?

I've heard of this kind of belief before but I don't think this really works. To the gamblers who have tried it and it worked for them, it could be a coincidence or it really worked just for them. In terms of luck, we really are looking for ways to attract it.

Charms isn't just for the voodoo but for Chinese beliefs, this is really for attracting luck to the one who wears it. However, I don't believe it and I don't wear and buy it.

Voodoo do exist but I believe it only works for those who thinks it will work for it. More like what you believe will work for you, will do so. It is more psychological.
Instead of one to waste their time and money in conducting voodoo, they can simply channel their energy and time in developing strategies that will make them win. Come to think of it, if voodoo truly work on gambling every now and then, then I guess every voodoo priest could have been a billionaire from gambling.
